My wife and I were on vacation in Rome and did not want to eat at your run of the mill tourist trap restaurants. Instead I asked our Uber driver if he had any local areas where he would recommend getting dinner. He recommended Flavio al Velavevodetto. Everything from the food to the atmosphere to the service was incredible. There Carbonara had perfect Al dente rigatoni with Guanciale that tasted like Chicharrón. The meatballs tasted as though they had just butchered the cow in the back. To complete the fabulous dinner, we got their apple cake and Tiramisu which were to die for. The staff was attentive and their recommendations of wine and the food was on point. Overall this was my favorite dinner experience of our trip. Will definitely be going back next time we visit.

Good service and great food. Don't miss the tiramisu! They do accept tips via card payments. Better to make a reservation .

Maybe the best place where I could eat in Rome!!! The carciofi alla Romana and Carciofi a la judía were spectacular, the same as the Carbonara. Just the best taste I can recall out of all the restaurants so far. Nice service and nice terrace outside where you can go with a dog, and many Italians are having dinner, even solitary men - it seems that the food is highly appreciated by the locals, to have a delicious treat just alone!

Sitting outside is killing the vibe. Overall food was good, not great not bad. The only thing that was great was the fried artichoke 👍🏼 Also the tiramisu was recommended however it was below average with chococolate chips inside 🤔 nice but wont come again.

I couldn’t rate this place higher. The food was amazing (everything from the zucchini antipasti to carbonara to the ricotta cheese/pear cake to the house wine all exceeded expectations). And Maurizio was an excellent and professional host, and I felt so welcomed. Would love to come back, and enjoy more meals!

The place is cozy and lovely. My friend recommended this place for me so I gave it a try. The pastas were rich and flavorful, enough seasoning. The pate was really good too. However I don’t like the tiramisu that much. It wasn’t for me. Service was nice and friendly. Overall, it’s a lovely restaurant

A very nice restaurant in a local neighbourhood. You know it must be good when there is a sign on the menu by the front door saying they don't serve spaghetti with meatballs, fettuccine alfredo and fettuccine with bolognese sauce. What you get is traditional roman cooking: think Jewish archichokes, puntarella with anchovy sauce, oxtails, rabbit stew, and the traditional Roman pasta. Good food, good service, interior is nice and they also have outdoor covered seating with heaters in winter.

This new branch from the original Flavio surely is full of itself, and the décor disguises the fact that this is an ordinary trattoria with straight-forward local home food - funky salads added. Desserts that fell like out of the wrapping, or chopped fruit. Delicious bread!
