Fleet Feet Hoboken

Recently moved to Hoboken and still taking in all the shops and stores as there are many! I really liked the layout of this store and the selection. I needed running sneakers to cross train with when off the bike and also manage a foot issue I was experiencing. Yonas who helped me was simply awesome, really appreciated his expertise and knowledge on selecting the right sneakers, thanks again!

BLATANT RACISM — AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Zero stars for all I care. I had one of the most disgusting retail experiences of my life here. A saleswoman was openly racist and shockingly rude. She told us that only paying customers could use their sizing machine — as if we were wasting her time or didn’t deserve the same service as others. She was dismissive, impatient, and visibly annoyed when I asked to try on different sizes. On top of that, she had the nerve to question how we’d be paying, as if to imply we couldn’t afford anything. The audacity and prejudice were crystal clear. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name — but if management cares at all, they need to investigate and take serious action. This wasn’t poor customer service — it was outright discrimination. I will never set foot in this store again, and I strongly urge others — especially people of color — to think twice before supporting a business that allows this kind of behavior.

I’ve always had a very pleasant experience at fleet feet. The team is always very welcoming and immediately asks if I need help with anything. I was buying a new pair of sneakers for the JC half marathon and they helped me by scanning my foot and talking about what shoes would give me the best support. I tried on a few different brands of shoes and was really happy to find a comfortable pair! I’ll highly recommend fleet feet to anyone in the Hoboken/ JC area.

Great shop, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I'm not a runner at all, overweight, etc but they were able to help me with getting my shoe measurements correct and able to offer some recommendations for brands/models that would work best with the shape of my feet. I was really surprised that my measured foot size was a full size down, but after trying out a different brand in that smaller foot size, it fit much better than my current shoes. One of the employees there, Monica, really went above and beyond with helping me try out a bunch of different shoes to really see what would fit me best, along with answering different questions I had around the durability/sizing of them. There was also no pressure to purchase right then/there, though it does seem like they offer different purchasing options along with special ordering a model/size for you. Overall I'd definitely recommend this shop for anyone in the area looking to get a great fitting shoe.

Extremely welcoming a d professional service. They scan your foot to give you an exact shoe to match your feet Shawn Mariovits, the owner, was extremely nice and invited me to replace the show if I'm not happy with it after trying to run with it.

I’ve visited Fleet Feet Hoboken a few times and have walked out with a positive feeling each time. The staff is very patient, helpful and knowledgeable. Shawn is especially very knowledgeable and genuinely tries to help address the issues I went with. The fact that some of the staff (like Jane) being runners themselves also helps immensely.

Always have a good experience here. They understand shoes and are really helpful. Prefer to bring my business here for shoes.

1/5/25 I am updating my review to reflect the service my daughter and I received after we revisited the Hoboken Fleet Feet. Shawn (the owner was informative, knowledgeable and patient. Thanks to him, my daughter chose comfortable walking shoes that she initially thought she would not like. I appreciate Shawn taking the time to listen to and hear my feedback. I am changing my rating from a 2 to a 4 to reflect our initial and current experiences. Took my daughter into the Fleet Feet in Hoboken to be fitted for a proper walking shoe as she suffers from foot pain due to a chronic illness. Although we could see it would be necessary to wait for a consultant to be fully available to help us. We were seen, we were looked at but not greeted, acknowledged or helped in the almost 10 minutes we were in the store. Simply suggesting consultants acknowledge every person who enters, even if they do not look like their typical runner/walker. Had an excellent experience purchasing walking shoes at the Montclair location in June and had hoped for a similar experience for my daughter as Hoboken is closer to our home.

I came in on a Saturday and the store is very small and cramped. At one point I was literally trapped in a corner because I didn't want to climb over people. I stood around for 25min waiting to be helped and got no service or even acknowledgement. Very disappointing.

Amazing shoe store with the nicest people! They have a machine to assess your foot type and from there can recommend a comfortable shoe for any of your workout or athletic needs. Also they have a top notch run club on Wednesday nights. Thanks fleet feet and highly recommend !

Absolutely amazing owner + running group. Trainers are readily available for any questions you may have and I really mean ANY questions. So welcoming if you're on your own (I was) and easy to make friends who hold you accountable for getting the rubber to the pavement. Thank you Peter, Tom, Jane & everyone!

I am never going to buy shoes anywhere else. I genuinely don't know how this place received the small amounts of negative reviews that it did because the customer service is unmatched.... the selection is great and it's a pretty educational experience when buying here. They have a machine that measures and tells you everything you need to know about your feet that no other location is capable of doing. Tom was incredible to work with and we even had a great Pizza spot recommended after our purchases lol --- Thank you all for being so incredible.

Shawn the owner is incredibly knowledgeable about all running shoes in his store. In addition, he takes you step by step through finding the perfect fitting shoes. The store is a wonderful combination of modern technology and fantastic customer service. Fleet Feet is a real gem ! Our entire family purchases our running shoes from there.

I started running outside again as I didn't want to wear a mask on the treadmill in my condo. After increasing my mileage, I started to develop calf pain in my right leg. I researched some options online and went to fleet feet to buy some new shoes and calf sleeves. Shawn, the owner, was so kind, friendly and supportive. He helped me try on some brand new Hokas and find calf sleeves and new socks. I was able to test them out this morning and had an incredible run - not pain free, but manageable. It really was such a great experience and reinforced why shopping local is the best! I will return for all of my running needs! They were also so sweet to my very active daughter.

can't say enough good things about these folks. It might be easier to just order online or on Amazon, but the kindness of the people who work there makes it worth the stop. there is another less-friendly/accommodating atheltic shoe store down the street but we always go to the Fleet!

I've shopped at Fleet Feet Hoboken for many years and I always get great service and leave with what I need!! Whether it's sneakers, apparel, energy products or headsets, they "get me"! They know running equipment and training needs for every level of runner and they really care about your next big race:-)

Great neighborhood running store with everything you need for long or short efforts. I find myself stopping by for new shoes, apparel and nutrition whenever I pass by. The staff is very helpful and the best supporter in town of the local running community.

The best in town. I've been going there for over 10 years and they will always take the time to assist with any of your running needs- shoes, apparel, nutrition.....If they don't have it - they'll get it for you. Stores like this and your shopping experience are why it's better for you to shop local!

Great locally owned running shop. Always found them helpful and willing to order me the bright obnoxious colors that I want. Give their foot screening toy a test. It will assess your arch and such so you get a pin point shoe rec.

Don't buy unless you are 100% committed to new gear. They will not offer refunds if you wore the sneakers even for a day. Extremely disappointing since all name brand places offer refunds on barely used sneakers. So again, don't buy here if you want to try before you buy. Once you buy, you have no recourse for a refund.

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I came in here specifically because I'm looking to train for a marathon, and knew that this sort of store would have the expertise and desire to assist me, more so than a chain. I've been here before for my kid's shoes, but as great as the service was that brought me back, it was even better when buying for myself. They say they stand behind their products, and are willing to take care of you in a way I'm not used to from other shoe stores. Definitely coming back for all my shoe (and sports apparel) needs.

I want to share my experience and why it mattered. When I arrived at my physical therapy session at @Mile Square , I was told by a fellow client that the people at Fleet Feet had put tennis balls on the back two legs of her walker . When I was done - and in tremendous pain, I walked two doors down and asked Shawn if he could do such a thing. "I'm out of tennis balls,but there's a place down the block that may have them." I hoped he would not suggest that my taking a walk was a good idea. He didn't. Not only did he go and buy the tennis balls- but in spite l never done it before- he remained patient and cheery,going back and forth between figuring how to attach the balls while explaining to the store dog why the yellow balls were not for him. I am beyond impressed. I will be back.

One of my favorite stores in Hoboken. I know it may be hard to tell but I do enjoy running, so sometimes you need running stuff. Fleet Feet is a perfect spot for that. The customer service here is some of the best in town and quite honestly can't be beat. They care about running, service and making sure you are comfortable and knowledgeable in whatever you purchase. They also have some good sales every once in awhile. They also do great running programs, like Winter Warrior where you just show up to run and you get some swag. That easy. Meet some people, get some exercise and have fun. They really help motivate people to get out and run with those programs and not a lot of stores I feel offer that. Anyway, this is my go-to in town for my running and athletic needs.

Great service! Shawn, the owner, makes sure the fit is right. He wants you to be satisfied, and I always have been. No matter how crowded the store gets, Shawn remains calm and patient and advises me to take my time so the fit is right.

Have been shopping here for 18 years. Shawn and all the staff are very friendly and helpful, and very knowledgeable about everything related to running shoes and attire. There are often real competitive runners working at the store, too! Whenever something was not in stock, Shawn has ordered for me. The store is also playing an active role in the local running community, helping with local races and whatnot. This is your friendly neighborhood store for all your running needs. Highly recommended!

I cannot say enough good things about Fleet Feet in Hoboken. The staff and owner there are so nice and helpful, it boggles the mind. I had a tricky situation with shoes that didn't fit correctly and were purchased in another state. Sean worked with me to find the correct shoes and could not have been nicer. Yes, I could have gone online to buy running shoes but you really cannot put a price on genuine, individualized help and knowledge. I know where I am coming to get my next pair and it rhymes with Seat Street!

This is the only place I go for running gear. A great staff and terrific loyalty program.

I have walked passed this store several times over the years and decided to stop to buy some workout sneaks there for the first time. I'm glad I did. The staff was super attentive And knowledgeable. Others were coming in the store and everyone received the same attention equally. I did not feel pressured to buy and they did not try to up-sell or get me to buy the highest price sneakers. They gave what seemed to be genuine opinions based on knowledge. I purchased a pair and I can't wait to test them out. I'll definitely be back for another pair.

I have flat feet and my feet have been hurting lately to the point where I was limping. I never had that happen before and I was wondering what was going on. So I decided to try out fleet feet that's to a friend mentioning it. You walk in the store and are immediately welcomed by a worker there. It's a smaller store. I spoke with Sean. And he was very knowledgeable about sneakers and arch support. Stuff I didn't even know about sneakers. He told me I needed a strong support sneaker. He showed me a pair of Brooks adrenaline. I never heard of Brooks before but I tell you when I put them on, it felt like Jesus came down and healed my feet. My limping practically stopped and my ankles felt stronger. It was an amazing fit I felt like Cinderella with a perfect fitting shoe..... lol. Will never buy a pair of nikes again. I actually got rid of my sneakers and got a couple pair of Brooks. Thanks Fleet feet. If you sign up every $250 you spend you receive $25. Not bad and signing up is free.

I really, really, really like @FFHoboken. If you are bit clueless when it comes to your feet and running shoes, head here stat. This small storefront really covers great ground with a variety of shoes for both men and women. The owner assisted the man and I was a) an absolutely lovely person, so patient, and b) he really knew his stuff. I trusted him a 100% and he fitted my feet and found me the best shoe for my lifestyle that I love and feel like a whole new woman when running and doing my other fitness activities. You do drop some dough here, but prices aren't eye-gauging, they just carry the latest cream of the crop, and those sneaks are pricy. If you sign up for the frequent shopping free membership you do receive a $25 gift card for every $250 you spend, so that helps. They also have some other running clothes merchandise, but nothing too crazy. I would like to highlight for the most part the shoes here are for running. This store is the epitome of shopping local. The kind owner who gives you the service you could never get at a megalith or online.

Decent running store. Went in to try on new sneakers because I need a pair... didn't buy, but here's what I thought of the experience: Pro's: individual attention and people who are knowledgeable about the product, they can measure your foot in store and make recommendations on the brand/type of shoe you're looking for based on your needs. They did have both shoes and apparel in sale. Con's: Small, like most of them are, so there's not a ton of room (there were 5 of us total in the back room including 2 sales people, the other customer had a baby stroller), the sales selection is limited, as is the sneaker selection due to their size (good news is: they can special order you something if needed)! Overall, dice the price of sneakers rarely varies (I checked online), best to support the local store!

I came in today, gingerly taking my time. I made a huge boo boo and didn't not bring my beloved and trusty Asics, instead gambled on bringing my new hiking boots. Well, New York City spanked me and I was paying for my folly. Yelp came to my rescue and this was the closest to my location. Walking in mid-afternoon, the shop was empty but the gentleman in charge was pleasantly helping a customer on the phone who seemed like they were placing an order. I was passively listening (eavesdropping) and they actually keep a database with a customer's previous purchases and help them over the phone to match them to other shoes, if asked. As I was in no rush, I actually savored the time looking at their offerings. The selection is limited but that is to be expected as they are not a big store. You can really tell however that they cater to runners and generally active people (which I am NOT a card-carrying member of). After a short wait, Sean came by and really took his time to size me and analyze metrics that I never even considered. He asked me what I was looking for and from there proceeded to make his recommendations. Their prices are competitive and I'm not factoring them into my review as I made the ultimate decision regarding the price point. Never once did I feel pressured towards the more expensive shoes and Sean encouraged me to try a few types of shoes to find my Cinderella moment. I had a very successful trip and my shoe selection ended up being such a perfect fit that I walked out with my new Asics and the pain was actually fading away as I walked more. Sean and this store was a life(feet)saver!

Fleet Feet is the place to go for exceptional service and information about running gear. My husband and I learned a lot about our running gait from trying on different shoes and talking with Shawn. We're in another town, not too far away but just enough that we don't join, but it seems like they have a lot of options for regular runs. I'd send anyone thinking about starting to jog or a veteran in need of a tune up to the awesome staff at Fleet Feet.

Sean was absolutely fantastic and helped me get some really great shoes. Really took the time to fit me right and didn't feel rushed. Prices were competitive and we got two free gifts! There is also a really cool dog here named Vegas!

I'm new to running and my Nike sneakers just weren't holding up on longer distances. Sean (the owner) spent over an hour with me helping me pick out the best pair for my feet. He was so knowledgeable and patient and even gave me tips on things I'll need once I start training for races. I also love that they support community engagement by hosting fun runs every week. Love this store!

Went in for the first time due to all the positive reviews for a new pair of running and cross training sneakers as I make my way back to exercising. The owner was incredibly helpful, took his time to measure my feet and show me different options. I ran around the store in 3 pairs while I decided! Great customer service - they noted what I liked in my file should I decide the sneakers I bought aren't the right fit (even after I wear them they will exchange them for the right pair!). Really happy I stopped by.

I have been getting all my workout sneakers for the past 11 years at Fleet Feet. Shawn is awesome and is very knowledgable about different sneakers. The whole staff is very kind and helpful. Definitely check out this local business in Hoboken on Washington Street!!

As I wrote in my review of the Sneaker Factory, running stores are all pretty much the same. They all charge full retail price, and if you compared inventories between different running stores, you'd find out that about 90% of the stock is the same stuff. So, same stuff, same price... how can different running specialty stores distinguish themselves? With either service or community support. The service at Fleet Feet seems to be pretty good. The staff is always cheerful. The store really doesn't seem to do much as far as community support goes, though. Hoboken has two running clubs, and the store seems to have very little involvement with either of them. Still, it's an okay store with a nice staff.

This small running store in Hoboken is the reason not to shop at the mall. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and to a beginner runner like me, that's super important. My sales rep allowed me to try on as many different pairs of shoes I needed to before picking a pair that would make me run like a cheetah. He was really patient and didn't force me into buying anything. When I went back for my second pair, they had my previous purchases on record to make shopping easy. Recently, I got a coupon in the mail to the store so I'll be going back soon to cash in on that.

I popped in this afternoon and met with Stacey who was super knowledgeable and friendly. The Run for a Cause 5k included a Fleet Feet coupon so I went and cashed mine in -it was worth $50! Stacey took the time to measure both of my feet while seated and then while standing. She checked out the arches and then asked me to walk to judge my gait. I really appreciated the service since good sneakers aren't cheap! She asked me about my current sneakers and why I was typically local to Brooks (I like a thick sole with lots of cushion.) I told her I was open to trying others, but ended up picking the Brooks Ravenna at the end of it all. Fleet Feet has a moderate yet quality selection of sneakers to pick from and certainly seems to have a great group of employees. You guys now have a loyal customer in me. Thanks so much!

I received excellent service during my recent trip to Fleet Feet. I am a large person. Because of this, other specialty running stores have not taken me seriously. But the truth is, I do walk a lot, and the added weight on my body makes it even more important for me to have shoes that fit. Additionally, I have highish arches, feet that don't quite match in size, a high instep, and skinny heels. Buying shoes is usually a miserable experience. I wish I could remember the name of the young lady who helped me. She spent more than an hour with me, analyzing my walk, measuring my feet, and offering well-thought-out recommendations based on my needs. She was extremely friendly and understood that even though I'm not a hard-core runner, well-fitting shoes were a top priority for me. Additionally, the workers at this store know shoes. The owner (or the guy I think was the owner), who came over to help, looked at my cheap Amazon shoes and, instead of chiding me for buying sneakers online, said, "Those are actually a decent budget sneaker. They're just not right for your feet." I was so afraid I was going to leave with nothing. (I'd resolved not to make the mistake I've made in the past of buying expensive shoes just to be polite.) But we finally did find a pair of Brooks that worked for me, with the addition of an insole to help with my arches. The lady who helped me agreed to cut down the insoles to fit my shoes while I ran some other errands in the area. I've had these shoes for over a month now and I'm very happy with my choice. If you have difficult feet like me, don't try to skimp by buying cheap shoes online or at a chain store where they usually don't know what they're doing. You'll absolutely get your money's worth here.

I went here about a month ago for new running shoes. The man that helped me out was extremely helpful and talked me through as well as was very patient as I tried a few different selections. They've got a good stock of running shoes. Being that I'm flat footed to the max, I'm sure I was a bit more annoying than the usual suspect but I found their service to be superb. And after I made my well informed purchase I found quite a bit of improvement in my running game. Thanks, fleet feet!

The guy who runs this branch is incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Even when I left Hoboken to live in the city, I cane back to buy from here again because I like the shoes he suggested so much.

I had one of the bestt experiences I've ever had at a running store when I went to Fleet Feet in Hoboken! I live in Jersey City, but it is worth the trip to go here! They have the technology and expertise to get you the best pair of shoes for you, but more importantly they have the customer service to keep you coming back! In particular, Shawn spent a lot of time with me to figure out my best pair and even offered to let me take them out on the sidewalk for a test run. Needless to say, this is my new go-to running shop!

I was looking for new sneakers and I'm so glad I stopped in here. Everyone who worked here was attentive, friendly and very helpful. I explained what I was looking for (and that my feet had high arches with weak ankles) and they brought me out a ton of pairs to try on. I found the perfect pair and was able to special order the color I wanted. I also bought inserts that had a 60 day guarantee. My husband wants to go back to get new shoes of his own.

Fleet Feet has officially become one of my favorite spots in Hoboken. Amazing customer service from all (shoutout to Sean, Kristin, and Tom)! The staff really treats all of their customers like family, which you don't really get these days at other running stores.

Fleet Feet in Hoboken is by far my favorite running shop in the area. They have a nice selection of top quality shoes and brands and a knowledgeable staff to help you make informed purchase decisions. The staff are patient and help to make the purchase of a new shoe a process. They start by narrowing you into a specific shoe category and then let you compare the fit and feel of each shoe they carry within that category. While their selection is more narrow than that in a big box store, they've cut out a lot of the fluff and only carry shoes for runners. Plus, they can always order a specific shoe for you, as they've gladly done for me in the past (either from another Fleet Feet store or the manufacturer). For those who have read the complaints about how they charge retail prices, it's worth noting that Fleet Feet keeps track of your past purchases and sends you a $25 gift certificate for every $250 spent in the store. These folks know their stuff and offer one of the best customer service I have experienced. As a beginner runner, I went in with questions and concerns. Colleen fitted me and addressed all the conerns I posed (ie: pain I was receiving from running, types of shoe, size of my feet, pronation, overpronation, etc). I used my new sneakers for the first time yesterday and I feel 100% brand new (since I was correctly fitted this time). The store also offered that I call in advance if I want to buy another pair in a different color when I'm ready. I will deifnitely do so when that time comes! This place is great.

I was helped by Patrick and he has tremendous knowledge on the shoe and helped me a lot with picking up right shoe. Definitely buying my next shoes here.
