Food was just okay, especially tacos. Cesar salad was my favorite. Not sure if I would come back

I was on my way travelling, and I wanted to have a steak before I continued, so I decided to stop in Flesh. There was a kind waiter that advised me on the correct menu and prices, because like many restaurants, weekdays afternoon they have special prices. I ordered my steak with mayonnaise and herbs sauce, it was 280gm, with a side (fries with garlic) and a soft drink, all for the package price of 24 euros. The steak was, for me, medium standard, I tried having it first with salt and pepper, but it still lacked taste. The sauce I ordered it gave it a better overall taste. The fries had a great taste, I will recommend it totally to those who like garlic taste. So overall, I will give a medium for the steak and excellent for the fries and service.

Service of the food was a little poor but nice guys all the same, portions a little on the light side perhaps but all very tasty, i would definitely try again on a week day. Apple cake was delicious for dessert!

Food was delicious but drink menu wasn’t so great

DELICIOUS!!! The beef tacos (6€, comes 2) were one of the best things I've ever eaten! The garlic fries (6€, enough for 2) are also great. But the biggest surprise was the apple cake (8€, generous slice — I really don't like apples, haha): I insisted on not sharing with my sister, but thankfully the waiter brought us two spoons anyway, and I got to taste it. It is SO good! Also ordered the Angus, pork tacos and fried chicken. All great. My compliments to the chef!

Google
18 € for a ridiculously small piece of fish that tasted just alright. Butternut side with good but very small. Cheesecake was pretty nice. Place is very noisy. Also 500mL of water for 6 people, really? That's not even enough to fill six glasses, we had to ask 3 times for refills.

Amazing place in Montmartre, walking distance from the Metro 2. The food was incredible , the meat done to perfection, the sides and the sauces very tasty and satisfying. The service was spot on and the prices beyond worth the food and service we received. Certainly a recommendation for all meat eaters.

Meats are awesome and garlic fries are INCREDIBLE! Just as simple as that.. We tried the mix platter which was perfect to try all the different dishes proposed!

Yelp
We stumbled upon this cozy restaurant after striking out at the nearby Pink Mamma (we went an hour and a half before closing and they were fully booked for tables of two!). We're glad that we ended up eating here. The meal was delicious and reasonably priced, and the service was friendly (tres gentil) and took mercy on our meager French skills by conversing with us mostly in English. The steak was superb, although I'd caution American visitors that medium rare in France (and in Europe more generally) tends to be on the rare side. The fries were equally scrumptious, and it's harder to pull off a good crisp on a relatively thick-cut potato. Finally, my wife's ribs were very good, and were more refined than is typical of American-style barbecue, which looks a little messier and has a smokier flavor. Great place for dinner before seeing a show at the nearby Moulin Rouge!

Yelp
Last night in Paris and forgot to make reservations for a Saturday night, so what to do. Start looking for a steak house and hope for the best. After a brief and incredibly lucky search this popped up, Flesh, and with an opening for 8pm. Good luck trying to score a steak dinner in Manhattan on a Saturday night with zero reservations. That aside, we were sitting in the oldest bar in Europe and confirmed our reservation not knowing what we were getting into with very little homework done on the place. After a couple of drinks and wandering through Paris we grabbed a light lunch hoping tonight's dinner was just what we were looking for. A short Uber ride through some very narrow streets we arrived on a one way street that seemed to be the up and coming neighborhood for food and drinks. Once inside we were not seated in the best spot but to their credit this place was tiny, as most hole in the wall restaurants are in this city. After a short wait drinks were served and our orders taken. The place seemed to me to be a sort of upscale BBQ joint, with of course good beers and mixed drinks along with wine. The staff were young and energetic and on point with any questions or requests. Keep this is mind, your in Paris so there really isn't such a thing as a cheap meal, but if you find the right place it's worth every dollar. Anyway my girl and I both ordered steaks with taco starters and delicious sides. All told $175 for one app, two entrees and four drinks. Yes this was probably the most expensive upscale BBQ place we've been to, but both left with a belly full of very yummy food. Thank you to the staff and cooks for a last meal in Paris.

Yelp
My mother in law was waiting in line for 2 hours and they had so many empty tables. Yet Tony (short guy with a brown beard) the host refused to seat us. We were a party of 7 and there was a table ready as well as 4 table for 2 available. He told us literally to go to another restaurant. Honestly I truly felt he was being racist. We went somewhere else. I told him to give me his name and he initially refused. Then he wrote it down saying "You know what I don't give a f*ck!". This occurred on 8/18 @ 830pm Do not go here until they replace Tony

Yelp
This was an after thought of a restaurant. We saw the label as BBQ and to Americans that means BBQ, but to Parisians I guess that's their way of saying steak. We tried to go to 4 other restaurants that night, and ended up here and we were glad we did. The steak was beautiful and well cooked. The garlic fries lived up the billing. The beer was cold. If you want to get away from the tourist district and want to get a nice little piece of steak I would recommend this place.

Yelp
Who knew I would find amazing Barbecue tucked away in a small restaurant in a quiet part of Paris. To sum up how good this place was I came here 3 times in 3 days. Twice for dinner and once for lunch. All times with co workers who also came multiple times. And if it was near my apartment I would go back frequently. The service was friendly, the menu simple, and the price was right. The restaurant itself is quite small and probably only sits 20-25 people. First night we came with a party of 6 and managed to snag their large table. I opted to get the meat platter where you can select 3 items - a tri-tip steak, chicken and pork ribs. The steak was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The chicken thigh was probably my favorite - fall off the bone with crunchy skin and incredibly smoky flavor. The ribs were a little dry, but the flavor was on point and the bones slid right out. The Bruschetta was amazing - heirloom tomatoes with a thin, light cheese spread. When I went for lunch I had the tacos which were small, but packed with flavor. The service was great - the waiter was friendly and explained the menu for us, and even brought the chef over whom I had to congratulate. Overall a fantastic experience and a must visit if you are int he 9th arrondissement looking for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Had an early dinner with a friend. We ordered a mixed grill for 2. The BBQ ribs are really flavorful. Good service and friendly staff.

Yelp
So I highly recommend making a reservation instead of just dropping in. I got lucky that there was another solo diner leaving the moment I arrived otherwise I wouldn't have had this wonderful experience. I saw several other groups get turned away through my dinner since I was seated right by the door. This also gave everyone a chance see my gluttony on full display. I was there for the ribs and nothing was going to stop me from having the ribs... Even if the minimum order was for two people. The restaurant is sparsely decorated and very neat. It is well staffed and there are several people who are constantly checking that everything is going well with your experience. They do have WiFi but since I was by the door and far from the heart of the resto, I couldn't connect. So I ordered the beef short ribs for two, the mushrooms and the asparagus for sides, and a pint of Affligem. The ribs for two is meant for two French people or one American. Although it is sizable, it is no match for an American sized hunger. It was the best cooked rib that I have had so far. The outside was perfectly charred with the inside as perfect as can be. Yes, some bbq lovers might wonder about the rub and sauces but this was minimalist heaven. Not too much salt or spice on the meat at all. The ribs were served with two sauces: blue cheese and bbq. Both were mild and not over powering and the bbq sauce had cumin. I found the mushrooms a little too salty and the asparagus had a little too much oil but that is just me being picky. I didn't think I ate too much but it did impress the chef and his sous chef who expressed their shock that I had all that food for myself when they stepped outside for their smoke break. Even, Arnaud, the head host was surprised I put it all away, so much so that he treated me to dessert. His recommendation, the brownie, was served with yogurt and it was perfect. Thick and crunchy on top and almost liquid below. The pairing with the not so sweet yogurt worked well. On the way out, I stopped by the grill to thank the chef for a wonderful dinner. Simon is from LA and is young and energetic and man does he know his meat! He asked me what brought me in and I told him that I was in search for the perfect rib in Paris and I had found a really good pork rib at Frog Revolution in Bastille. He asked if I had a chance to try his and when I said no, he made be a box of his "travers de porc" to take home. Simon's ribs are the bomb. His pork and beef ribs are the best I have had period. I am looking forward to being back here ASAP.

Yelp
Great place. Very accommodating and sat us at the end of a table of a large group even though place was full. We had the tacos and the beer-battered fried chicken as an appetizer. Beef ribs as a main with garlic fries and Caesar salad. Wine was good. Prices reasonable. Fast service. No complaints whatsoever. Probably shouldn't come here is your vegan given the name of the place. Meat in many varieties is what is served here and they do it well.

Tyra L.

Yelp
.... mmmmmh it's a decent place to dine. The beef tacos were pretty good the pork taco was whatever... a little too sweet for my liking. The garlic fries were trash!! Twice cooked oily and hard. Overall not bad I would get the beef tacos again.

Andrew E.

Yelp
We heard about this place from a Hilton employee, so we decided to check it out. As we walked in at 7:30pm, they were just opening the doors for dinner. The host greeted us in English and they were very kind and courteous. It isn't BBQ as Americans define it. The meat on the menu includes steak, pork sausage, and chicken. You can order a variety of cuts of beef. We were happy with the selection. The French fries on the menu are better defined as British chips. I ordered beef, and I was very happy with the quality of meat. I've been to many restaurants where the steak was cooked perfectly, but the meat was below standard. The only reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 was my steak was delivered to my table undercooked. Breaking in a new cook perhaPs. They quickly and graciously fixed it, and the experience overall was very good. Nice job!

Brittany C.

Yelp
Excellent service and food! Highly recommend the steak, very well seasoned and delicious. Would return if I lived around here!

Yelp
Incredible flavor! Had the privilege of dining here a few nights ago on a friend's recommendation. Had the opportunity to meet Simon, Head Chef. I love this new trend in French barbecue. I started with the mushroom tacos then had a fantastic cut of beef. Lovely, light cocktails. I tried their signature drink and really enjoyed it. This was a nice mix of causal and trendy. Wonderful meal!

Stephen H.

Yelp
Nipped in early afternoon on a Sunday and wasn't disappointed. It's no place for vegans, for sure, but if that's not an issue for you, dig in and enjoy the brisket and tacos.

Sevan K.

Yelp
Pros : Good selection of meet hard to find elsewhere in Paris. Very US style. Good food. Cons: small and little noisy. Service average/ slow. I still recommend this spot.

Jeremy B.

Yelp
I never thought I would have delicious BBQ in Montmartre, but Flesh has some of the best ribs I have ever had. A must visit when in Paris!!

Paula B.

Yelp
We loved it so much that we had to go back before we left Paris, and again, the food was amazing. This time, I had the chicken and it was coated with a delicious rub and was so moist, and I don't know how they make the green beans but the flavor is intense and the garlic fries are spectacular. I can't say enough about this restaurant!! Wish we had one at home in the USA, we'd go every week!

Patti P.

Yelp
This is the place where we ex-pats can enjoy an American taste of home with a French flair! The chef, Simon Lewis-Jones has brought a taste of his home in California to this little corner of Paris. The BBQ sauce is a must and the pork ribs melt off the bone. The Teri tip is a little tough but it's hard to get real tritip outside of its home of origin in California. The sides depend on the market so they are always fresh and sumptuous. It's a little bit of Wood Ranch BBQ here in Paris!

Will W.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. Great atmosphere, great wine, and great steaks. The blue cheese sauce is incredible. Would definitely recommend!

Ihsan K.

Yelp
This probably the best ribs at Paris. They have good cuts of beef, selection of sides and sauces. Friendly helpful service.

Scotty S.

Yelp
As good as the other flesh. Perfectly cooked and nice atmosphere. Greatly grilled ! A d the staff is so kind

Toxbin L.

Yelp
I wish I took photos when we were there. I went with A French Colleague which was his first time too to have dinner in this restaurant. He said to me he was not sure about the restaurant and not sure about their wines either. Turned out, it was great! We ordered Angus stakes and a bottle of organic wine (not certified, I believe). Both were fantastic! Staffs were nice and friendly and very helpful on the menu. Definitely will go again if in the area. It could be very busy. Recommend to make reservation ahead of time to avoid disappointment.

Yelp
It's been more than a week and I'm still having dreams about my meal at Flesh. It was the best meal of my life and I would highly recommend it. We started out with appetizers consisting of smoked trout, carnitas tacos, and fried chicken. Everything was great especially the sauces. The homemade BBQ sauce is sweet, tasty, and unique. For our main course we had the chicken, beef angus chuck flap, and a couple types of ribs. The meat just fell off the bone and basically melted in my mouth. I can confidently say those were the best ribs of my life. The chicken really went well with the limon sauce. Lastly, we have a yogurt based dessert with a chocolate filled brownie to top of the night. We had the pleasure of meeting the chef, Simon, who is a very nice and approachable guy. He really made us feel welcome even though the place was packed. Flesh is not your traditional Parisian restaurant but it is top notch cuisine that is approachable and affordable. This is exactly type of place that is on the forefront of the exciting new food revolution occurring in Paris. I will continue to have dreams of this place and will surely be back next time I'm in Paris.

Yelp
Traveling from Los Angeles, my boyfriend and I were craving some good steak and ribs. LEGIT THE BEST STEAK/RIBS..Great food, compliments to the chef, Thomas! Beef is so tender and cooked perfectly well.. PS their tacos are amazing.... way better than the tacos in LA... some quality tacos.

Taelar B.

Yelp
The food was so good! We did not have a reservation, but we were luckily sat. However, I do not recommend that! We both ordered the boneless ribeye steak with the barbeque sauce with the potato mash and fries. It was so delicious!! Our server was very kind to us and helped us decide on what to order.

Shona C.

Yelp
Great food - meat cooked to perfection and seasoned well - and really good music. It would have been 5 stars if not for the dog roaming around the restaurant. After mentioning this to the waiter he quite rudely replied that they were dog-friendly and he was an emblem of the quartier (first I heard since I live here). It's a shame as I really enjoyed the food but the smell of dog is very off-putting - especially when I'm paying the price.

Scott T.

Yelp
The French simply do not have discerning tastes. The positive reviews are not justified. Warm wilted lettuce for the Caesar salad, extremely slow, inefficient, and forgetful service, and the server more concerned with his cute female sidekick than he was with the customers. Ribeye was ok, but meats in Paris are never expected to be great; hence the 2-star "pass." Plenty of better places in the city.

Nicole M.

Yelp
They should say when the kitchen is closed and not when the actually restaurant closes. It's very confusing and we traveled far for this. They should put a notice especially those who aren't from France.

L B.

Yelp
This was my favorite meal while in Paris. I got the rib eye steak and it was so juicy and cooked perfectly. Came with a side salad. Would totally come back!!

Neal L.

Yelp
I'm an American and I love BBQ started with the fried chicken with sauce. The fried chicken seasoned with onion powder and salt was overlooked. The BBQ sauce was dreadful. No layers and maybe because I've had authentic BBQ in the south I not adjusting for the French palate. Had the mixed grill ribs, entrecôte and chicken . For some reason I asked for BBQ sauce but instead was served blue cheese. This was not edible. Sorry but I can't tell you how disappointed I was by this BBQ that was more BB can't

Xavier M.

Yelp
Being ignorant of French cuisine, I thought I wouldn't find many steakhouses so I thought to look up a BBQ or steak place early on in my biz trip. FLESH will no doubt satisfy your craving for American BBQ. I tried the brisket and pork ribs. The ribs just fell apart as I dove in. Yeah! My brisket had a nice layer of fat in the middle, keeping it tender, but my German coworker thought his was a bit dry, which I have to admit was the case. Some of my coworkers had the chuck flap, which looked like a lean cut of steak. They all enjoyed it. I tried both the BBQ and citron sauces. The Citron was a little too citrusy for my taste, but the BBQ was spot on with a hint of sweetness and a bit more of pepper. My Euro coworkers really liked the mayo sauce. Go figure. The mushroom side was a little too creamy and heavy for my taste, as I like to contrast my meat dishes with lighter fare so next time I may try the green beans or cauliflower. My NY coworker liked the cauliflower. We had a Cotes du Rhone Hermitage to go with dinner. My only big regret is that I didn't think to ask a coworker to divvy up the short ribs, which is supposed to have a minimum 2 person order. But I am looking forward to trying their Argentine plate. So big kudos from this guy, who does claim an Argentine heritage and BBQs year round (heck I've even made pastrami once) Update - my 2nd week in Paris I came back and had the Argentine steak. Reminded me of home! It was seasoned just the way I remember, and a medium finish was almost like the "al punto" that they traditionally do in Argentina. This time I tried the mayonnaise sauce and it's got a little horseradish for spice and a little bit adds a nice creaminess to a bit of steak. Now, if I can just get them to give me 1-person serving of short ribs I will be able to make my way through their entire menu. I am discovering, though, that I'm not a fan of their veggie dishes as they're all a little too creamy for my palate -pretty typical for French or American steakhouses. I guess I have more of an argentine palate for veggies. I'll be stopping in here regularly on my work trips into Paris. Way to go gang!

Shivraj A.

Yelp
Very friendly service, the food is delicious and the Caesar Salad is a must!!! I would definitely recommend this restaurant for all the bbq lovers...

Samuel L.

Yelp
Best American cuisine I've ever had in Paris. Period. I'm a North Carolina guy, so I came into Flesh with dubious expectations ... this is in a mustachioed and sugnlassed part of Montmartre, after all, where the pints are twice as expensive as a Po Boy in NOLA. Short story short, the ribs were incredible--cumin in the sauce was just one of the many memorable tastes. The head chef is a California-raised UMERKAN man who knows what it means to cook like you're in grandma's kitchen. We had smoked artichoke with aeoli; grilled cauliflower with some wild chorizo conconction; the best fries I've had in Paris; the best tacos I've had in Paris (pineapple salsa w/ pulled pork knocked it out of the park); the ribs were superb and big enough; and we even had small bottles of Red Stripe to bring home the experience. It's slightly pricey (just under 20 euros for a main plate, 6 euros for sides, all of which were unique and incredible), but I have never had such good southern cooking this side of the Atlantic. Come for the beautiful people and the picturesque Parisian neighborhood; stay for everything else. Get there quickly before this spot blows up and turns into one of those restaurants defined by how many Parisians are waiting in line to get in.

Sara T.

Yelp
The food was OK, but we had one of the worse service experience in Paris. And I've been through quite a lot. The waiter was extremely arrogant, impatient and rude. He tried to charge us 6€ for a beer (vs 1,5 on the menu), and when we challenged him, he was extremely disrespectful, trying to make us look like the stingy trying to save small money. Avoid this place as much as possible. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area, do not bother with unworthy people.

Ryan L.

Yelp
I had been searching for a delicious steak in Paris and man did I find it at Flesh. They have amazing cuts of meat and they are prepared perfectly. Definitely make a reservation at this restaurant if you want to really savour the deliciousness. I showed up and was able to grab a table between seating and still absolutely loved it.

Nicky B.

Yelp
After spending almost two weeks going from London to Amsterdam and finally Paris, my fiance and I really hadn't had any 5 star experiences in the food department. This was put to an end as soon as we sat down at Flesh. Being that both my fiance and I live in California, there are plenty of amazing BBQ establishments. If Flesh was going to impress us than it was going to really have to go above an beyond. Let me tell you that the food there was quite impressive and the environment was enjoyable to boot. We hadn't made a reservation but I would certainly suggest doing so. The place filled up quick as it is pretty small. That being said, the head manager (possibly owner?), let us know that he would get us in at a smaller table in the back. After looking over the menu we decided on the mixed grill with a side salad. The meat was tender and the cuts were very high quality. The service was tentative and the environment was alive and welcoming. After we finished our food we decided to get the brownie which was a nice way to end our meal. As a BBQ fanatic and fine food lover, I would highly suggest making a call now to reserve your table at Flesh. If we ever get the opportunity to visit Paris again, we will be dining here again for absolute sure.

Stacey B.

Yelp
We, my boyfriend and I, went out to eat up the street. Tried to have dinner, and were completely ignored. Defeated and hungry, I walked back to our hotel, but my boyfriend didn't give in. He walked back down the street and stopped at Flesh. The kitchen was closing. The owner, after hearing our story, made an array of food, salad and desert for my boyfriend to bring back. It was amazing and delicious, and we couldn't be more grateful. I'll make sure to frequent this place when I come back.

D. P.

Yelp
Being in Paris I didnt expect to run across BBQ this GOOD it was really delicious the beef short ribs are cooked/smoked to perfection pork ribs so tender they slide off the bone..taste better than alot of BBQ spots back home in Texas!
