Fleur de Chine Hotel (Yuchi, Nantou County) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Set above the northern edge of Sun Moon Lake, Fleur de Chine takes full advantage of its outlook, and most rooms come with natural hot spring baths and wide windows that open onto the lake’s shifting light and color. The hotel’s legacy stretches back to the 1970s, but it was a post-earthquake reinvention that uncovered the lake’s first known geothermal spring, now central to the experience here. Thoughtful sustainability practices and a strong local presence complete a stay that feels both rooted and restorative." - Tablet Hotels

Absolutely brilliant experience at Fleur de Chine Hotel. ||First is of course the view, so peaceful and tranquil. Be it from your balcony, from reception or from the little seating area on each floor, you will stop to appriciate it. ||The hotel also provide all day bus ticket for you at the front desk and the bus stop is right outside the hotel gate. Very convenient. ||The buffet is fantastic but does tend to get a bit busy. We took half board and the dinner buffet was both extensive and good quality. ||Last but not least are the staff. Very helpful and efficient. On our departure day our airport transfer didn't arrive and the lady at the reception quickly organised a car for us. I forgot to take her name but she was amazing.

We only stayed one night. Check in was efficient. We had a mountain view room/glimpse but mostly the view was of the road that ran along the hotel. I struggle with this review as if we had a lake view it would have been fabulous. The room was spacious with lots of English speaking channels. However the smell of sulphur as prevalent, the bathroom with the bath was very nice as were all the freebies of snacks/drinks. However you are a captive audience in that there is nowhere to go to for meals except the hotel, and they were pricey. Breakfast was very good and extensive plus a hostess came over and put my handbag in a bag to protect it which was nice. There were walks from the hotel around part of the lake. I think it I returned it would be for a lake view and more than one night.

We had a wonderful stay at Fleur de Chine. The tatami rooms at the end of the hall have 2 exposures with beautiful lake and mountain views. The food at the buffet had enough variety for everyone in our party during our 3 night stay. The hotel employees were all very attentive and helpful. The pool area was relaxing for my mom and also a lot of fun for my nephew and niece. They provide pajamas in the room that are really comfortable and cute (you can buy them in the gift shop!) and give you flip flops that you can keep. The hotel location is great if you’re looking for a resort experience - it has its own bus stop and is about a 3km walk to town along the lake path.

This hotel is definitely one of the best hotels in Taiwan. The shuttle is convenient and we can come and visit Sun Moon Lake without need of renting a car. There are many kids friendly facilities that our kid loves a lot. We bookee the premium room with access to 雲水行政酒廊 where we come for our lunch, afternoon tea, and 宵夜 which are all awesome. The view of the room is glorious. I would definitely recommend it to everyone (both good for couple or family with kids).

What a spectacular hotel! Gorgeous, top notch service, and the best food! Great amenities, especially if you have kids. The pool area is wonderful for all ages. The game room also had many options for all ages, 2-55! Rooms are spacious and clean, we had a nice view from the balcony, dinner and breakfast at Crimson were delicious. Would definitely stay here again!

Wow. This experience was incredible. Fleur De Chine is absolutely worth the price. First, the staff here are so warm, attentive to detail, and well-coordinated. There is always a nice touch with every activity. We did a DIY coaster making class, and because my partner and I had to leave class early, the staff arranged for us to pickup later and they not only packaged it but even hand wrote a sweet card. Second, the hotel building itself is beautiful. The lobby is grand. The rooms are clean and recently renovated. The views are spectacular. We had the mountain view room but lucked out with a side window facing Sun Moon Lake. We chose the Japanese style room and it was beautifully decorated. Third, the amenities are top notch. We received beautiful and comfortable pajamas, indoor slippers, and plenty of complimentary snacks in our room. The hotel also has a breakfast and dinner buffet that was part of our room price, entertainment floor, and enough activities for us to fill our days. We rented bikes from the hotel, played arcade games, did a firefly viewing tour, listened to live music performances, and so much more. We highly recommend this hotel. We're sad to leave and we can't wait to be back!

This is an amazing hotel with stunning views, incredible staff, amazing facilities. It's a great base to explore Sun Moon lake and surrounding area. The good at the lounge is delicious. Everything is so peaceful and opulent.

Man, what an experience! It is expensive but so worth it! The view is insane...absolutely breathtaking! You will be pampered in this hotel, from the food, to customer service, to bedding (I'm going to search for the pillow they use...it's heavenly!). Get the even numbered room (on the lake side) on the higher floor...you will not regret it. You'll be waking up to a postcard outside your window every morning.

Yelp
If you're looking for a hotel to stay while at Sun Moon Lake, you can't go wrong with Fleur de Chine. Even though there aren't any shops or restaurants nearby, this is the type of isolation you want. It's peaceful and relaxing. You get to experience nature without all the lights and noise. We got a double bed, mountain facing view. And it's kind of nice, seeing all the trees and greenery. The room was immaculate. Like many other Taiwan hotels, everything in the mini fridge was complimentary. The room came with flip flops (that you can take with you) and pajamas (which you shouldn't have taken with you). The bed was comfy. There's even a wonderful stereo system with various songs from various countries that you can play in case you were tired of your own playlist and wanted to listen to something else. I like that the toilet was separate from the bathroom. (And yes, it was a Toto toilet.) And there's a very good reason for that. Because you have your very own hot spring tub right in the room! It even comes with a cute thermometer that you can place in the water so you can have the perfect temperature. If you have kids, this place has an entire floor dedicated to them having fun. I'm talking indoor wall climbing, the works. Looking at all those fun activities had me wishing I was a kid again, haha! But don't worry adults. This hotel has you covered when it comes to hot springs. You can either do the co-ed Water World (swim cap and swimwear required) or the separate men and women hot springs (clothing optional). I chose the later and I'm so happy I did. When I went in, there was only one person and they were actually leaving the pool area. I literally had the entire place to myself! They had 3 different pools, one was the hot spring and the two other was the cold pool. It was in the evening when I went, so I was able to enjoy the live music that was playing a bit away behind the fence. When it came to amenities in the locker room, they had Dyson hair dryers and fancy lotion and face care. Be on the look out for activities / equipment provided by the hotel. Unfortunately, we checked in too late and missed the bike rental and stand up paddleboard. But we were in luck because it was firefly season and was able to participate in one of their night time guided walks. That was a first for me. And if you're an early bird, you can join one of their morning guided walks around the lake! Speaking of morning, you have to do their breakfast buffet. So many varieties and such amazing food. Really, don't skip breakfast! So stay here if you're in the area! You won't regret it! PS. Because the hotel is practicing in sustainability, there are carafes available in the guestrooms. Water dispensing machines are located on each floor, near the elevator.

Yelp
First off, it is best to book directly through their website. And opt to get the breakfast and dinner buffet. They also have other dinner choices but we really enjoyed the dinner buffet. So many things to choose from and the sashimi was nice and fresh. We booked the Japanese duo tatami room and really like the tatami experience. We didn't have a chance to check out the water world. We only stayed one night. It's best to do at least 2 to see and experience more. The most inefficient part of our stay was the check in. It took an hour which is really poor in my opinion. Granted we came as a big group but all had separated bookings. I clearly was trying to tell them that but they just wanted us to sit down. And you know what, they didn't even process my booking and wanted to charge me extra for my kids when I already booked a room included my kids. After an hour, you can see why that would be annoying. It all got resolved but checking someone in should not take over an hour. They need to do better and streamline the process. Overall, we still had a good time and enjoyed the food and the facility.

Yelp
Must stay here when you're visiting Sun Moon Lake. According to the boat guide, this is the nicest hotel in the area. It's absolutely beautiful with gorgeous views! The rooms come with a hot spring bath. There are daily activities and shows (in Chinese). The best part was the enormous playroom for kids. I was also really impressed with the buffet selection. Will definitely come back just to stay at this hotel.

Yelp
Aside from requesting to have our room re-cleaned upon our arrival as it was not up to standards of a 5 star hotel, I can say that initial hiccup was easily overlooked during our stay. This one sits right along the Sun Moon Lake and depending which room you get, you have a high probability it will be over looking the lake itself which makes for killer photos at sunrise/sunset. Amenities are top notch. In room hot springs bath, kimonos to relax in, a private balcony overlooking the lake, complimentary mini bar just to highlight a few things within the room. Within the hotel, they have a pretty awesome spa / pool area called "Water World". Complete with all sorts of unique jet massage areas, a sauna, cold water dipping area, a lap pool, an extra hot dipping area, a slide and ball pit for kids, and more. Swim caps are required. The buffets (breakfast & dinner) were included with our stay. Plenty of Western options in addition to traditional Taiwanese, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean options and all very much good quality of food. The on site gym was pretty small/limited, yet being right along the lake with easy access to the lake side walkway and trails, definitely take advantage of the location to go out and explore. Only other gripe here would be the fellow clientele at the hotel can be a bit pushy and rude, so be prepared to fight em off at the buffet. But other than that, a beautiful hotel and overall relaxing stay. 'Til next time, cheers!

Yelp
April 2023 Lobby is under renovation... hence the gym and activities have been move to level 6. Highly recommended to take e room w hot spring facilities to enjoy privacy. Hotel is very family friendly. There are kids playground & rock climbing activity.... There are trekking activity available at 7am however the trek are on renovation...

Yelp
Thanks mom for choosing this hotel! All I have to say is the hot springs "inside" the room was fantastic! A hot spring tub inside the bathroom. Our room had a gorgeous view of the lake and 5-star all the way around. From the time they greet you from the lobby until the time you check out and leave back on the bus to the train hi-speed rail. We stayed for 2 days and wish we could have stayed more days....food was fantastic and the buffets were constantly in rotation. Food quality was top notch and they had entertainment to end the evening. Traveling right before Christmas they had beautiful decorations around the hotel and when turn-down service came around, you had some nice holiday cookies and present awaiting in your room. What made the stay great was also all the activities right in town by taking the local outside the hotel. You can rent a bike for around $12 USD for 3 hours or pay a bit more for electrical bike to zip around town. I would say with some hilly areas and stop and go, the electric bike would be the way to go for those that want to see scenery but do less peddling. My photos of the hotel and scenery does not do it justice, you have to see this place in person! I will come back again...

Yelp
A 5-star luxury hotel overlooking the beautiful Sun Moon Lake. As far as hotels go in Taiwan, this is about as high end and upscale as it gets. We stayed in a deluxe Lake View suite which comes with one King bed, a separate Japanese style sitting room, and a huge hot spring tub in the bathroom. Service is fantastic and there are plenty of amenities in the building, including an indoor playground for kids, spa, gym, pet service, etc. They really make you feel like royalties there. There're ample dining options on site. We tried both the breakfast and dining buffets and they were both very good. There're offerings that I've never or rarely seen at any other buffets before. With all this said, you're going to pay for what you get. In our research prior to the trip, this was easily the most expensive hotel we came across, but after staying there, we felt that we got our money's worth.

Yelp
Wow. This place is beautiful! I'd definitely come back and stay here if I were visiting sun moon lake! We booked 3 rooms here and stayed on the 8th floor. F O O D Dinner: You can eat the buffet on the 2nd floor. Not sure how it tastes since I didnt eat it. I did walked around... There were so many choices and options. But I did taste the oysters which were amazing!! Very fresh and soft. Dinner: We had a private room escorted by the hotel manager and greeted by the head chef. It was pretty good. I wouldn't say it's the best meal I've ever had but it was filling and unique. Our meal consisted of about 10 dishes ranging from soups to meats to rice and veggies. Breakfast: We booked a table at the sky lounge on the 13th floor. This was definitely heavenly. Too bad it was foggy but it would've been a beautiful view, to eat while overlooking sun moon lake. It was a 5 course meal where you get to choose your main dish. The dessert wine was so yum.. I only wish I asked what the name was!! R O O M Our room was beautiful. 2 king size beds with 4 pillows and soft mattresses. Beautifully arranged bathroom, with hot springs water filled hot tub that was attached to the shower. Spacious and comfortable. We also got cookies and wine in the room to enjoy! F U N (IN THE HOTEL) The arcade and hot springs/swimming area is on the first floor. Their arcade is quite large, suitable for teens and young adults with foosball and games. In the middle of the lobby there was a large enclosed area for babies and kids to play in, surrounded by seating for parents. Go to the counter to get your keys for the hot tubbing and swimming area. You can also buy shower caps, goggles and swimming suits there. The right side is also an area for naked hot springs (Obviously separated by gender)! The left side is for swimming and hot tubbing. You'll first enter the changing, shower, bathroom and vanity area. Then when you walk out, you'll see a row of showers. Make sure you rinse off. Its so nice and luxe. The shower pressure was so strong. I took that opportunity to use a hair mask so it could just ferment in my hair (I hate waiting for it so it was the perfect time). The hot tub was amazing; it's filled with hot springs water so after you immerse yourself, you'll have that baby soft skin! The swimming pool is small but big enough for you to do some laps in. At 845pm, there was a singing performance on the 3rd floor. The three singers were wonderful. Separately, they weren't anything special, but together, they complimented each other so well- so in sync and their harmonies didn't overpower each other. S E R V I C E Exceptional service. Wonderful, polite, and attentive waiters. It was windy and a little rainy while we were eating breakfast so the waiter even brought us scarves to cover ourselves! When we left, 10 some employees including the manager stood outside, waving and bowing to us good bye. P R I C E If I were to come again to sun moon lake, I would definitely stay here again. It's beautiful and well worth the price. However if I were to choose a place to vacation and it wasn't limited to sun moon lake, I'd choose other places in Taiwan that are better worth the money and include more in the price; this place wouldn't be my first choice.

Yelp
We all agreed that the service was superb excepted couple staff members were sort of slow albeit very polite. If we ever come back, definitely will consider this hotel for its service. Our room on 8th floor had some lake view but no comparison with the view we enjoyed at another high end hotel. The walk paths, both board walk and slates of stone, around this hotel was very pleasant to explore. It was nicely and tastefully decorated with various trees, plants, pots etc. I wished I had more time to wander and enjoy! Maybe next visit.

Yelp
We made the mistake of not staying here. We saw the low Japanese beds (we are both 6 foot tall) and decided to stay at the Rich Forest. What a mistake. I came here for lunch a little late so the Chinese Resturant was close to closing. I tried to talk them into letting me eat but it didn't work & they sent me to the lobby lounge. When I got to the lobby lounge, they had called up and the person who met me know what I wanted, anticipated my questions and what the issues might be - sitting outside at 1:30pm may be too hot. Outside after 3:30 would be better. I don't know about the rooms but the staff is on the ball.

Yelp
We came here on a weekday for one night and it was AWESOME! I definitely want to come back! Pros - right when you walk in to check in you're greeted with a delicious refreshing drink, a small chocolate tart, and a cool towel - the lobby is huge and has a piano (sometimes they have live music, other times they'll have the piano on autopilot playing in the background) - the rooms are super spacious! We even had someone take us up to our room and introduce the facilities in the room - our room had a hot spring tub with clear instructions on how to use it - they offer lots of amenities...hot spring, sauna, large indoor swimming pools (but you must bring a swim cap!) - the best thing is they offer 26 different pillows to choose from if you don't like the ones they have in the room. They saw that I was pregnant and even offered two maternity pillows for me to try! - they have a spacious and ample parking for those who are driving in from out of town Cons - absolutely none! I had a pleasant experience here and totally recommend to those traveling to Sun Moon Lake!

Yelp
This is one of three 5-star resort hotels at Taiwan's Sun Moon Lake recreational area. I took some time to consider which of the three I wanted to book. The other two were located closer to Suishe town (meaning there were some things to do locally at night) but also cost significantly more. This hotel is located several kilometers away and didn't have anything to do within walking distance. However the prices here were more reasonable and I was also inclined to book here because I heard there are less mainland Chinese tourists here. Ultimately I was glad I chose this place. It was easy to take the high speed rail from Taipei to Taichung and hop on the hotel coach bus that takes people to/from the resort. It was great that we were able to check in on the bus. That saved a good deal of time. Upon arriving we were greeted by the friendly staff with drinks and cookies. They escorted us to our room, where my bag was already waiting. The room we got was on a high floor and had a special private hot spring tub overlooking Sun Moon Lake. It was seriously the most awesome aspect of the entire trip. The views from the lakeside rooms are amazing and the balcony was a great place to relax. The amenities in the room were also fab - such as the spa robes, comfy sandals, complimentary wifi and drinks in the fridge .. and most importantly the unlimited supply of water which is crucial when you're constantly in the hot spring tub like I was. The beds here were awesome. They have have 28 varieties of pillows you can ask for. Add to that a really nice comforter and you have serious some of the best sleep you'll ever get anywhere. I'm a notoriously light sleeper and I literally passed out both nights I slept on this amazing bed combo. In terms of the stay and service it was absolutely 100% top notch. The food here was generally good. Oddly a lot of the hotels here have lousy good but generally the grub at this resort was good. One night I had the teppanyaki dinner. It was one of the most hi-end teppanyaki joints that I ever ate at. The meat and seafood was solid and I was glad the food was not overly salty or saturated with butter. I also had the breakfast buffet as well as one dinner buffet. My conclusion here is you are better off eating the Asian food selection. One of the few flaws of this place is that their western food sucks ass. Some of the stuff I tried like the omelet, eggs and bacon were simply disgusting. (Oddly the salad bar was pretty good). However they do a way better job with their pan-Asian and local Taiwanese varieties so you're better off sticking with that (though the noodle bar was kind of meh) There are lots of things to do here. In the first floor there is a game room, spa and water park. You can even rent bike here. I rented an electric bike to ride around Sun Moon Lake. The cost was only about $8 USD for 2 hours. In the lobby there is a large open coffee bar that boasts a killer view of Sun Moon Lake. At night there are also shows but don't expect much. It's really just a way to kill time. In the end it's really all about the resort experience in your room and on this front it is nothing short of spectacular. I can't describe that feeling of soaking in your private hot spring tub overlooking one of Taiwan's most beautiful places. For anyone looking to have an amazing experience this is really a great place to go.

Yelp
Fleur de Chine Hotel is a 5-star upscale family-friendly hotel by Sun Moon Lake. Half the rooms face the lake for gorgeous views, and the other half face the mountain. There's a spooky, mystical feeling when the mist sits above the lake in the early morning, but on a clear sunny day the lake is equally beautiful. The hotel provides several amenities, such as their Water World swimming pools, spas and hot spring baths, a gym, a game room, and a rockclimbing wall. A couple activities provided by the hotel include a short, guided morning hike by the lake and bike tours. Rooms have a full free minibar, a balcony, a hotspring bath in the bathroom, and yukatas to wear (but must be returned upon checkout). The all-you-can-eat western style buffet will satisfy your gluttonous desires, and for breakfast, there's an option to eat on the outdoor covered patio, which I recommend if the weather's bearable. Overall, Fleur de Chine Hotel exemplifies luxury with Japanese-style design and hospitality in mind. The one downside to this hotel is that it always felt too crowded in the public common areas.

Yelp
This place really is an amazing hotel, one of the best that I stayed in while visiting Taiwan. Overlooking Taiwan's famous Sun Moon Lake, this place has some of the best views around. The hotel room that I stayed in had a fantastic balcony view of the lake. It makes for fantastic views of the sunrise and sunset. The room itself is large and comfortable, with all of the amenities that you would want. The beds and pillows are nice and plush and the hotel room includes some very premium coffees and teas. But perhaps the best part of the room is the in room hot tub. Because the hotel is built right above a natural hot spring, that hot spring water with all of its qualities can be piped right into your room. The tub is nice and deep so that you can fully immerse yourself in the therapeutic waters and just feel your stress drain away. Finally, an added bonus, this hotel as a fantastic rooftop bar and lounge. The views are absolutely breathtaking. If you have an opportunity to stay here, definitely take it because it is worth everything that you pay :)

Yelp
An extremely luxurious place to stay at. It's both family friendly and romantic. Service is beyond amazing and the buffets are fantastic! This hotel is perched right above Sun Moon Lake, so the views are breathtaking. You can select Tatami style rooms (Japanese style with mattresses) or regular bedrooms. Both are really nice! The bathrooms are large and very elegant. Tubs are deep and hot spring style. There are plenty of facilities here! The nude hot springs area (separated by gender) is very relaxing. There are three different pools of water of different temperatures, showers, and a beautiful locker area. All amenities are provided and there's a water fountain with both hot and cold water to rehydrate yourself after a nice bath. The arcade/games room area has plenty of things for both adults and children to do. There are darts, board games, ping pong, etc. There's also a spa (swim suit area). In addition to the indoor activities, there are also plenty of hiking and walking trails near the hotel. You can borrow umbrellas from the lobby if it's raining. The lakeside trails are really pretty! Flooring can be a little slippery when it rains, so be careful. Buffets are awesome! The salad bar is so well organized and has about a million different choices for you. The dessert bar has at least 20 different kinds of mini cakes and pastries, all of them beautifully placed. There's someone to help serve you, too. I really liked the steak! The meat is high quality and they grill it medium for you. Highly recommend getting the steak. The oysters were a tad disappointing. They grilled it a little bit too long so they're smaller and a tad too dry. I can go on and on about the buffet, but I'll end with the unlimited beer. Prepare to gain some pounds!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel with a wide arrange of services, entertainment, along with friendly staffing. There is complimentary buffet breakfast which included Western and Asian options. We dined at the Chinese and hibachi restaurants, food is good overall. The beautiful lake view from our balcony was breathtaking. We enjoyed the activities offered through the hotel, the one I enjoyed most is the boat tour.

Yelp
We stayed in a mountain view room on the 6th floor and had an awesome experience! The hotel is very modern and the clean, the view is gorgeous, and the staff is very attentive. We wanted to check out the water world pools and were told you need to have a swim cap to go in and they sell the caps for about $3-4 USD which isn't bad at all but we ran out of time anyway. The hotel has a Vegas style buffet on the 2nd floor that costs around $30 USD per person. One thing to know about this buffet that's different from the US is that they run the buffet in shifts - 5pm to 7pm, 7:30pm to 9:30pm, and I think they have a late night shift too. This means no matter what time you go during that shift, you have to be done when your shift is over. So basically, go at 5 or 7:30! We had oysters, crab, sushi, sashimi, and all sorts of Chinese food.

Yelp
Fleur De Chine Hotel is one of several hotels that overlook Sun Moon Lake. This was the hotel of choice during my recent visit to Taiwan as per the tour group I went with. The hotel doesn't look crazily appetizing from the outside, especially if you've known before that this hotel is one of the top ones in the country. However don't let the less than stellar looks deceive you; everything about the interior is beautiful. If you're lucky you can get a hotel room that faces Sun Moon Lake. If not, don't worry, just walk into the elevator area of your floor and you'll get your nice view from there. The rooms are large and bright, as expected. Each room comes with its individual hot spring, and you can relax there at night if needed. I somewhat wish the toilet wasn't separated from the shower room though... The buffet inside this hotel is simply top notch, and I highly recommend it (especially since there's nothing nearby). You get a wide variety of cuisines and choices, and the sushi bar surprisingly has high quality fish, including aburi style fish. There's also a lot of dishes there that are unique to Taiwan, such as milk pineapples and star fruits. Definitely one of the best buffets I've ever had. Fleur De Chine is definitely high in my recommendations if you ever end up in Sun Moon Lake, even if it costs a bit more than other hotels...but hey, join a tour or something, it'll definitely help mitigate some costs (and planning as well)!

Yelp
For anyone traveling to visit Taiwan's famous Sun Moon Lake, Fleur de Chine offers the best amenities and service all in a luxurious atmosphere. We were picked up at the Taichung station after taking a 30 min high speed rail from Taoyuan. While on the bus, they checked us into our rooms and offered us complimentary drinks and a wet towel. Once we get there, they served us more drinks and cookies, and we had our own personal bellhop waiting take us to our room. ROOMS: We stayed in a high floor (9th) tatami-style room, which offered a gorgeous 180 view of Sun Moon Lake. The room was impeccably clean, extremely comfortable, and came with so many complimentary snacks, fruit, and drinks in the fridge (which are all restocked every day). The bathrooms come with a deep spa-style bath, where you can submerge yourself and relax before you start your day. FOOD: We tried both the Western-style buffet and the 9-course Asian-style sit-down. I definitely preferred the Western-style buffet since it offered more options and all the food was very tasty. The 9 course dinner is a nice change of pace, but the food wasn't as good as what was served in the buffet. AMENITIES: As mentioned, everything is prepared for you at this hotel, so you don't even have to lift a finger. as for things to do around the hotel, I highly recommend participating in one of their hotel activities. We tried both the Lake Cruise and the morning hike. The Lake cruise is 2 hours and takes you to two stops along the lake, even stopping by Taiwan's famous A-Po Tea Eggs (worth it). Additionally, the hotel itself has a small gym on the first floor, along with a pool table, ping pong table, spa, and onsen

Yelp
fleur de chine was our first hotel stop on our circle island tour and wow, talk about setting the bar wayy high! our thoughts on the following: 1. room: we made a resv for a lake-view room and the view did not disappoint. each room is also equipped with a hot spring bath tub that overlooks the lake. wished the windows were somehow tinted because you really can't enjoy the view without possibly being exposed to your neighbors. our room was extremely spacious and since we were celebrating our anniversary, they also treated us to a bottle of red wine :) the room came with his & hers bath robe and slipper sets to lounge around and wear to the hot springs. 2. amenities: sadly we didn't quite have enough time to enjoy the indoor pool / public hot spring amenities. before we checked-out we decided to rent bikes to bike around sun moon lake. we were quite disappointed that the bikes came with rental fees instead of being complimentary (considering everything else was). 3. food: i thought the breakfast buffet was better than the dinner buffet. but during both meals the amount of hotel guests was quite alarming. the restaurant was filled to the max, but the food was definitely replenished fast. due to the demand, the quality of food is just ok. but hey, both meals were included with the (hefty) hotel cost so, nothing to complain about! 4. service: the service quality at fleur de chine was unparalled. to the point that to this day my bf still raves about the impeccable service. we took advantage of the free hotel shuttle bus from the taichung hsr station to and from fleur de chine. on the shuttle the hotel staff was already able to check us into our room, and by the time we arrived we were individually greeted with a staff member that took us straight to the room. best first impression ever. and before we got off the shuttle bus we were greeted with welcome beverage and snacks. honestly, the only complaint we have is the moldiness in the bathroom. the shower head has a little platform, and right beneath the platform was a serious breeding ground for black mold. we witnessed it from the hot spring tub and was quite alarmed by what we saw. i get it, i'm sure housekeeping doesn't see that area, but seriously, i'm sure it causes some sort of health hazard / health code violation... but other than that, highly recommend fleur de chine hotel :)

Yelp
The hallmark of an excellent hotel is consistent 5 star service. The bellhop got my bags up to my room almost before I made it up to the room. Everyone greeted me when they saw me. The wait staff in the dining room cleared my table periodically. When I called the front desk for extra towels, they not only gave me extra towels, but also extra shampoo, conditioner, and soap in anticipation that the necessity of extra towels implies the necessity of extra soap, shampoo, and conditioner. When customer needs are not only met on demand but anticipated, this is the hallmark of world class superior customer service. Whenever I encountered someone who did not speak English, the staff always called for someone who could speak English to accommodate me. This teamwork is also another sign of superior customer service. Massage and beauty treatments are available. Finally, when I left, several of the staff stood outside to wave goodbye as my coach rolled out the driveway. Amazing! In addition to the superb customer service, there are also superior facilities here. They have a gym with lat pulldown machine, free weight dumbells, and exercycles. The coup de grace is the PRIVATE onsen in your room! In addition to the sex non-specific onsen, water massage park, and the sex specific onsen, you get a private onsen in your hotel room. Wow! The food is excellent here, too. They have a huge Las Vegas style buffet with a little bit of something for everyone, both Aisan and Western foods such as; smoked salmon, salmon sashimi, rare tropical fruits, organic hydroponically grown salad greens, steamed dim sums, French pastries, and fresh chilled shrimp, etc. The nearby Sun Moon Lake provides a nice view from your hotel room if you sprang the extra money for the lake view room. If you can get a substantial discount for the mountain view room, take it. However, if no substantial discount is available, then take the lake view room for sure as the view is spectacular. Not to despair if you didn't get the lake view room, the elevator waiting room and hotel restaurant has the same spectacular views. However, a visit to the lake is kinda futile as there is little to do on the lake. Also, the nearby village has only some tourist trap gift shops and crappy restaurants. There's nothing of interest in the area except for the hotel. The Hotel has spectacular views, onsen, massage water park, massage services, beauty treatments, excellent customer service, a gym and a 5 star restaurant. The hotel is the destination. I have been to many 5 star hotels, dives, motels, and hostels. There is without a doubt, the Fleur de Chine Hotel is the best hotel in the world, especially if you enjoy onsens.

Yelp
Lake view room: Check In-Room Hot Spring bath: Check Service/Hospitality: Check Good Food: Check Very japanese-style hotel... in a good way. From the moment we arrived on the premises, our mini-bus was greeted by the bell staff. Bags were unloaded, and we were escorted to a small room where the front desk staff gave a brief intro to the facilities. Rooms were more than adequately staff for 2 1/2 people. Food (for dinner and breakfast) was excellent. Nice rec center (with games for the kids), next to the (small) fitness center, next to the hot springs. Would definitely come back and stay here again the next time we visit Sun Moon Lake, and stay longer than we did this time. For Sure.

Yelp
This place is the best place to stay for the night in Sun Moon Lake. The breakfast is delicious with a wide selection of food. The customer service is excellent. The rooms are clean and spacious, it offers the hot spring at your convenience in your own bathroom of the rooms. Can't say enough about this place, just stay here for a night and enjoy all the great services and amenities and accommodations the rooms has to offer you!

Yelp
Beautiful views, environment felt extremely clean, and best hot spring baths. This hotel will not let you down. Although we receive the traditional Japanese style lodging, the memory foam pad was super comfortable and I didn't miss a mattress at all. Amenities are many and the dinner and breakfast buffet were fantastic. Another plus, great wifi service anywhere and everywhere within the hotel.

Yelp
We stayed in this hotel as part of our 5 day tour around the island. We just could not find any fault with this hotel. The highlight of this place is the natural hot spring tub in your bathroom. Our guide was telling us that this was the only hotel in the area that secured the right to tap into the underground natural hot spring. It's hard for us to believe that someone has a monopoly over underground water. But regardless we really enjoyed our stay here. Across from the hotel you can walk or jog along the trail walk which is built adjacent to the famous Sun Moon Lake and enjoy the type of serenity you can find no place else on earth.

Yelp
Great food, the buffet is plentiful. I am however not satisfied with the poor wifi reception in my room. The light switches only work half the time. This is not what I expected from a 5 star hotel.
