Flip Flop Hostel - Garden

I am very upset about the service here. I arrived at the official check-in time but was told to wait because the water system was not working and would not be available until 7:00 p.m. I waited patiently about 15 minutes before I was allowed to check in. When I checked in, I was told that a friend who came with me was not allowed to go up to the room, even though I booked a private room. I understand this is a rule, but there is no elevator and I had several heavy bags. Since the staff did not help me, they should have allowed my friend to help me carry my luggage up to the 4th floor. At check-out, I was 10–15 minutes late. The staff spoke to me rudely and demanded that I pay a fine of about NT$350, telling me not to do it again. I admit that I was late, but when I had to wait during check-in because of their service problem, the only response I received was, “I will take note of that,” with no apology at all. This experience could have been handled much better. The staff’s attitude was disappointing, and because of this, I will not stay here again. There are some good things about this place, but the service is not one of them. I hope the management will improve their customer service.

My first experience in a shared room was at this hostel, and it truly set the bar for comfort and atmosphere. The space feels both cozy and artistic.A big thank you to my roommates, you were all so kind and quite 😊. I really appreciated how quiet, private, and safe everything felt. The staff here is also exceptionally friendly and helpful.And about the breakfast inclusion, the café downstairs serves an impressive selection of dishes. I do miss the Tuna and Apple sandwich, but their chai latte definitely became my favorite!

My 2nd time staying here. Very convenient location, especially if you plan to take the bus from Taipei Bus Station to the airport or to other cities. I had some issues with the online staff’s attitude (the staff was a bit rude regarding my request), but the on-site staff was actually very friendly and helpful. I booked a 6-bed dorm and was lucky enough to have the whole room to myself on that day. New facilities, clean hostel, clean bathroom and good-sized room. Will stay there again.

It was a good stay, in front of us got Family Mart & 7 Eleven which we go every night! Our room got private toilet, a small sofa area, room number 301 got window. They also have common area where you can eat there, chitchat there, and take water there. Their oolong teabag provided there is nice!!! Free breakfast available, redeem at the breakfast shop beside, the food is good!!

Absolutely nightmare! Had to call the police over NO HOT WATER. I’ve never had to call the police on a hotel until now. There was hot water at 4 PM, but by 9 PM, it was barely lukewarm. With Taipei at 11°C, expecting us to shower in cold water is insane—especially since my travel companion has a cold. The staff was incredibly dismissive, claiming water temperature is 'subjective.' When I asked for a refund to find another place, they refused. I even offered to use an electric kettle to heat water for a sponge bath, but they said they didn't have one. Worst of all, the staff lied. That night, he claimed he was 'just a junior staffer' and couldn't make decisions. But when I called the next day to speak to a manager, it was the same person, and he suddenly claimed he was the manager. Absolute trash service. No matter how cheap the room is, hot water is a basic right. Avoid this place like the plague! You have repeatedly insisted that hot water was available. However, even the police officer who arrived on-site confirmed there was none, which led to the tripartite discussion to find a resolution. Had I known about the lack of hot water from the start, I would not have requested a refund. Just because other guests did not report the issue does not mean it doesn't exist.

Very pleasant stay in a top floor double room with balcony and private bathroom. Lack of adequate reading lamp a bit annoying, but everything else very pleasant. Do note there is no lift and the stairs are quite steep - good exercise! Breakfast at downstairs with 100ntd voucher was great.

Cute hostel near Taipei main station and Taipei bus station. The hostel has very cool characteristics, decor is so hip. As usual, the room is small but it's worth the value that u paid. I stayed at the en-suite room , it's minimum but you got what u need. The bed is comfy, and nice decoration. The common areas are super cool. The extra point of this hostel is the golden location! It's closed to the main area of Taipei in walking distance.
