Popular location with a lot of seats. Food was great and service was quick despite it being packed on the day. Limited selection of milkshakes but still great taste! Both waffles were a tad soft (not crunchy like I expected of Belgian waffles) and the maple syrup was only on the one waffle. Could've easily asked for more but it was still good so I didn't bother

Its so good i cannot stop craving this place. Everything tastes like its got thanksgiving level effort put into it. Never have i had a restaurant blow me away like they have. The chicken is juicy and the sauce is so good. If i had one piece of advice, order less spicy than you think. And if you just want a little kick, get the sauce on the side and portion yourself. mild will still light you up lol. The sides are so good, everything ive tried. the mac and cheese is real, the fries are crispy, and the hush puppies aint dry. The service here is phenomenal. These people seem to really care about the place they work.

Our first time here and we were very impressed. I got the 3 chicken tenders, baked mac and cheese and fries. The chicken tenders were huge, not heavily breaded and were juicy and had a great flavor with the buffalo sauce!The baked mac and cheese was very cheesy and creamy, almost like grandmother's. The french fries were crispy and nice and warm. My fiance had the Chicken Philly and collard greens. Her sandwich was full of cheese, chicken, peppers and onions. She liked the flavor and the toasted bread. The collard greens were spot on and the best for a restaurant. Service was friendly and the food arrived quickly. The old fill-in station building added to the great casual atmosphere. Definitely will be back soon.

Stopped here for lunch and was super glad I did. Amazing food. They have a smaller menu, but everything that they do they do very well. Everything is fully customizable as well. Really impressed with the portions and tastes of everything.Great atmosphere. Friendly staff

This place has it all. Food was amazing, drinks were solid, staff is even better. Mike greeted us and made feel like we were regulars. He followed it up with some great recommendations. Burger was 10 out 10. Chicken and waffles was 12 out of 10. Can’t wait to go back!

We were looking for a place to grab a quick bite on a Sunday night and happened to land on Flock Shop. This was so amazing and exactly what we needed. My wife had the chicken salad BLT with the hush puppies and I had two chicken tenders in the Flock Sauce (I think that’s right) with the grits and hush puppies. The hush puppies are huge and so so good! The grits were amazing with the crumbled pecans and bacon on top. And the chicken was moist and tender and hit the spot. We live two hours away and we’re already looking for an excuse to come back. It is in an old service station and we loved the decor. Very fun and kitschy. And the price was right — we had water to drink and just our entrees and the two of us ate for $25 before tip. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I was visited family in South Carolina. I was in the mood for chicken and waffles. I found the Flock Shop. It's a cool spot...love the decor super cute. It reminds me of 50's diners you see in the movies. There was seating at the bar, indoor and outdoor. The was attentive and professional. We ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was fried well and flavorful. The waffles were soft and warm. A maple syrup was poured on the waffle. Maple syrup is good but really sweet. Hush puppies are delicious 😋 Ordered an Arnold Palmer which is half ice tea and lemonade. Parking is available on the premises. Great place to bring family, friends and gatherings. Affordable reasonable prices. Kid-friendly

What a gem we found! The reviews were correct, this food is outstanding! ALL OF IT!!!! It got the chicken fingers with grits and hushpuppies. The grits were off the charts with cheese and bacon, so very flavorful. The sauces we dipped our chicken into were also fantastic and thick. Our service was excellent and the recommendations were on point. Did not have room for dessert unfortunately because the portions were generous.

I did not eat here. My daughter did. Her car was hit in the parking lot. The person who hit it did not stop. The manager on duty was extremely helpful retrieving the surveillance footage. Ultimately, I was connected with John and over several days communicating promptly and with professionalism I'd say these folks care about the community and from the smell inside they care about their cuisine!

Lucky find on a road trip! LOVED the Flock Shop! The decor and vibe was right up our alley. Cool, retro, casual, like you'd wanna stay awhile. Plenty of parking, seating, and has a bar if you're wanting some beer and cocktails. Each employee we came in contact with was so dern friendly! But the food....wowzers. We shared the Southern Soul Eggrolls with the Cheerwine BBQ sauce. Packed with collards, Mac n cheese and chicken. Almost a meal in itself! We got the Chop Shop salad--nice portion, perfect amount of dressing, a light, flavorful vinaigrette. Also shared a 2 tender plate with 2 sides and 2 sauces. The Chicken was large, perfectly cooked but let me say, the Hot, was more like extra hot. lol The mustard sauce was grainy and delicious, the Alabama white sauce tangy, both seemed home made. The collards bordered on a little salty, but still very flavorful. Which brings me to the grits. Sent from heaven, and truly the BEST we have EVER had. Goat cheese? pecans? bacon? What is this magical combination and why hasn't anyone thought of it before? This is a place we hope to visit again. Go support this business!

Top notch establishment. The food is phenomenal and we were already talking about coming back. But the staff really hit us in the feels. The table next to us was from an area impacted recently and we overheard they comped their food. Seriously heart warming. Oh yeah, the food. Hush puppies are heavenly, the chicken is light but large and filling. I cant wait to come back and try everything else.

We have eaten at the Flock Shop several times now. Our first experience was when I was a fried chicken starved visitor from California. We have since moved to California and have visited the Flock Shop several more times. The fried chicken is ALWAYS delicious. The staff, always friendly and helpful. They've hooked us and we ate okay with that!

I'm sure there's a joke somewhere in here. When is a chicken shop not just about chicken? Or why did the chicken tenders cross the plate? Or something like that, but I'm not a comedian. I am one who loves food with a passion few recognize they posses for life itself. And though some may look upon the chicken as a lowly bird, I deem it worthy of the upmost respect. I have collected eggs for breakfast from the coop, seen my great grandfathers enormous hand grab one by the throat and twirl around, and of course see feathers removed (one by one) so the bird can find its home in a skillet full of Crisco (after being washed in raw egg and coated in flour-salt-pepper). So when you advertise that chicken is what you're known for, you best delivery. And I am happy to say deliver they did. Tendies, fries, and Mac N Cheese fritters were my order. And it did NOT disappoint! And that sweet tea, like syrup on your lips. It sufficed for dessert (plus I was too full anyway from the meal). The team here treat you like old friends you didn't know you've met. Plenty of suggestions and of course that aforementioned tea never ran dry. Though I loved the aesthetics of it being in a old gas station, I opted for the outdoor seating (in the back). The weather was beautiful, it faces a local park, and is covered. Plus, that's where you can eat if you have a furry family member (I didn't bring my three, but I'm always down for smiling at others). It is the kind of place that if I lived in the area, it would be a weekly stop. For lunch, brunch, a weekend meal, meeting, really any excuse you want to make up. Check it out for yourself soon!

Love the old gas station. Service was great. So disappointed that there is no more chicken on the bone. However tenders were great. Sauces delicious. Hush puppies excellent. Grits best I ever had. Mac n cheese homemade and really good. Big portions Not all perfect but better than last time.

Great food in a nostalgic environment served by fine waiters and waitresses. Mike is such a great manager and asset to this establishment! Always goes the extra mile to serve the customers and always maintains a positive attitude.

Great retrofit of a 1950's service station. They left a lot of the original lines and curves. It's a casual environment with gas station acoustics so it can be loud. We were seated promptly and had very attentive service which even included the owner. We got the story of the place and its conversion. I had the grilled buffalo blue and it was excellent. I ordered the fries well done and they delivered. This is my second visit and it was as good or better than the first visit. When in Spartanburg this is a great stop.

Flock shop was great for bday brunch. I ordered the shop salad with crispy chicken -- it was good but didn't blow me away. The grapefruit was replaced with tangerine slices which was a bit of a bummer but the ingredients were fresh. I think the "kinda hot" sauce was just slightly inharmonious with the citrus salad. So next time I'd order the Caesar salad or full send a chicken and biscuit sandwich. Service was solid considering the large size of our group.

Super place. Fun cocktails, tasty chicken and great service. The Korean crispy sandwich was perfect along with the tenders. Easy to get the correct amount of heat. Taylor is the best!!

Food/beer was AMAZING! We were given a sample of a specialty cocktail which was also very good. Service was spotty but we were still taken very good care of. Will be back

I'm actually really impressed with this place and their staff. I'm not sure what I was expecting when we showed up here but we were seated quickly and immediately received service. It's a kind of auto shop vibe and comfortable inside. Food was excellent. My husband ordered the buffalo belay and the chicken was super tender, super flavorful. I ordered the Health Nut with chicken and it was also flavorful. Maybe lacking a little citrus; it's a large helping of arugula. The kids got the Mac and cheese and loved it. It was like home style Mac and cheese, not the crap from the box the other places give. The hush puppies are absolutely the best we've ever had, hands down. Staff was all great and very personable.

Wow! Great fried chicken ! Juicy and flavorful! I got the half bird to try everything, and I am leaving with leftovers! No need for the sauces due to juicy chicken, but the Korean bbq was my fav. Mac and cheese is creamy, and the collard greens are really tasty. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Also, Bethany was an amazing bartender and server. Nice, quickly service, positive attitude.

Went here for lunch. It was SO good! We loved all the food. The bloody mary was amazing. We ordered catfish bites for appetizer, sooooo freaking good. Service was phenomenal (we had Caitlyn- she was wonderful). The bartender was very knowledgable. We will definitely be back!

The building itself is an adorable and the food was Just Yum! A friend found on Yelp for us when traveling in the area and I'm glad she did! We split 3 chicken tenders that came with two sides and we picked the mac n cheese and greens also added the hush puppies. Holy smokes the chicken tenders were the size of a whole chicken breast- hand breaded and fried extra crispy. Maybe the best I ever had. We got the Medium hot sauce for dipping that was delicious. I am a wimp when it comes to spicy and I thought it was very hot. You could see all of the peppers in it - so good. The Mac n cheese and greens also yummy and fresh but then the hush puppies! Next level- I have never liked a sweet hush puppy in my life but These. Smothered in honey goodness, sprinkled with fresh scallions with a little onion inside made them sweet and savory. Also perfectly cooked and dunk in that honey butter. And now I'm drooling. Last but not least, they had the Good Ice- you know what I'm saying. Ask for extra to make an ice tea slushy. If I ever find myself close again I would definitely go back. Go support this local gem.

I came to this place twice ever. Once for drinks this time for food and drinks. We had a party of 11 and it was Sunday .. being super packed and with our large group our wait was pretty fast considering. We had a drink at the bar while I waited. The service was friendly and the customers were lovely, all dressed up in their Sunday best. We ordered buffalo dip and kung pao shrimp for appetizers... it was gone before I could get a pic. We ordered so much of everything on the menu. I think I had a bite of everything. The loaded fries was my favorite. The sandwiches were all amazing. The chicken was juicy inside and crispy in the outside just how you always desired. I can't express how impressed we all were. We are visiting from California and my only wish is they opened one of these in L.A.. Thank you to Katyln our server for being so fast and pleasant.

Well, here we are. I have changed my mind. Flock Shop has gotten much better and tastier. The consistency has been fixed, you can tell. The dishes have gotten much better and there is definitely much more variety. The atmosphere has seemed to improve as it has matured. Great spot. I think this will continue to help the area grow as well as it is on the Rail Trail and this is an up -and-coming area.

I got a sweet tea, jalapeño cheddar puppies with honey butter, and the chicken Philly. The food was good but the service was somewhat slow which was disappointing. My waitress did apologize and they did have a large party outside which may have been a factor in the delay. Overall it was a good vibe and I will be going back for happy hour!

I have mixed feelings about this place. The service was OK, even though the server seemed a little perturbed at times. Very curt in her manner. I really dug the decor. It felt like an upscale take on a Gulf Coast dive bar. I ordered the quarter white, "kinda hot," with a side of simple slaw and macaroni and cheese. As crazy as it might sound, my favorite thing was the slaw. It had broccoli, purple onion, carrots, cabbage, and a very light dressing. Tasty as heck. The mac was good. The chicken, though. I ordered a breast and wing and instead of getting two pieces, I got a breast with the wing still attached. The seasoned batter it was cooked in made it tough to break the wing away from the breast without making a mess. Not to mention that the chicken was piping hot, which is not a complaint, but you only have plastic utensils to deal with it. It took a bit of effort. The flavor of the chicken was good. Very crunchy, but it left a slight oily sensation in my mouth. Maybe next time I'll try the tenders. p.s. Alabama white sauce is blasphemous. UPDATE: I went back today for lunch, and it was a much better experience. I sat at the bar, where the service was a lot friendlier. I had the three tender combo (hot) with collard greens, hushpuppies and the Cheerwine BBQ dipping sauce. Everything was great. The three tenders were almost too much, which is a good problem to have. It was a lot easier to deal with the chicken with metal utensils. And the Cheerwine dipping sauce was incredible. I don't usually like sweet sauces, but it was very good. Three hushpuppies would have been sufficient. Worth an upgrade to 4 stars.

Great food neat converted diner. But service is absolutely a joke. No professionalism most wait staff is dressed like they just rolled off the couch. I understand it's relaxed but at what point is to relaxed.

I mean hot dmnnn!!!! This was seriously so gooood! I'm from Los Angeles California and this place, I'll keep coming back. Plus so friendly, server Katelyn is amazing, and so was the other staff. Whether you're a local or just passing through, HIGHLY, recommend this place.

Great local spot. Good atmosphere. The staff can be a bit hit or miss sometimes. I do wish the menu had a few more options. But what they do offer is tasty.

Trying some different spots in Spartanburg. Went to Flock Shop for lunch and was delightfully impressed. Ordered a beer off their beer and drink menu and the waitress brought it quickly along with an ice water. I ordered the chicken strips with a side of hush puppies and slaw. Also, I ordered honey mustard and Korean BBQ dips for the chicken. The chicken was absolutely delicious and the dips just enhanced the taste. I also loved the hush puppies and creamy slaw. This restaurant was an absolute home run. Try it you'll like it.

Flock Shop always hits! The countless of times I have been here, I am never disappointed. Y'all need to try the grits!!

Love it. Funky, small, unique. Close to home. Bottomless mimosas. Mack served us and she is a delight. Cheerful and efficient. We love the catfish bites and the salads. Actually anything we have eaten is great.

Enjoyed it start to finish. The food was amazing. The service was great. The staff recommended a lot of good dishes. The set up was pretty cool to see.

Very casual place to grab food and enjoy some beers. They have outside seating and I've seen people bring their dogs which I love!! I always get the quarter dark with french fries and grits and love it everytime. It's a hefty portion size leaving you stuffed after. My waiters and waitresses have veen great everytime I go and so personable. Definitely a place I would recommend to others who are in the mood for hot chicken!

Cool little hole in the wall spot in an old gas station. The service was very nice as well as the mix of old and new atmosphere. The service was very nice. I'm vegetarian, but there were several vegetarian options that I got. Hush puppies 5/5 they were really good and tasty, they were in a really goof hot honey. Grits 4/5 they were very good and creamy. I loved the goat cheese addition. It was really good. Loaded fries 3/5 the fries were very good, however, it needed some veggies for freshness. They were just topped with alot of sauces. Overall good place. Will be back for the sides.

The ambiance of this place is awesome. I had the fried pickled okra. Delicious. Then had the Korean BBQ chicken sandwich. It was one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The Flock Shop is in rotation as one of my go to places now.

If I could give them a perfect 10, I would. Just picked up my deep-fried turkey. Just had to taste. Prominence boneless. If you need the deep-fried turkey, this is your place.

Service was great. Ambiance was great - old gas station now a restaurant. Fun place on the outside and in. Unfortunately the Food was just ok. My wife and I ate there last night and we agreed the best part of the meal was their French Fries and I'm sure those came frozen from somewhere else. Chicken had way too much batter and very crispy, perhaps even overcooked. Mac and cheese had a strange after- taste. Hush puppies are 4x the size of normal ones (good) and Wife said they taste great. Willing to try again but if most of what they have is fried chicken and if heavy batter and overcooked is typical, we will not be returning.

If you are in the area please do yourself a favor and make a stop here! Not only is their service amazing but WOW is this the best hot chicken sandwich I've ever had! The spicy levels are fun to try, their hot really is hot but I loved it!

This was our first visit. Unique concept and setup. We were seated immediately as a party of 6 which included 2 children. The waitress took our drink orders and the drinks were served quickly. We ordered an appetizer when the drinks were served. The appetizer came quickly too but the waitress seemed to disappear afterwards and we had not ordered our food. When we did order our food, it came out in a reasonable amount of time. Overall, the waitress seemed to want to be anywhere but at work. Maybe consider changing waitstaff. Food was unique and tasty.

Today was my first experience at Flock Shop having driven by so many times. I finally got a chance to stop in today and OMG. My wife and I decided to sit at the bar and Lauren was awesome! She gave us huge kudos for choosing the egg rolls as our appetizer and they were AWESOME! The atmosphere was very welcoming so now we can't WAIT to come back.

Always awesome being able to get some fantastic hot chicken in the Carolinas! I've had it in the home of hot chicken, Nashville, and Flock Shop does a wonderful job! Highly recommend their honey mustard and Alabama white sauce!

My wife told me to stop saying "mmmm" after every bite because it became annoying. Thank goodness for wives who limit the amount of times we say "mmmm" when eating, because I wouldn't have been able to stop. This chicken is like crack. I love it when people say "like crack" when they've never done drugs before - Ryan from the Office. Oh, wife just came back and said the bathrooms were kinda gross. But you don't lose a star for that because I didn't dine in the bathroom.

I stopped in the Flock Shop on Sunday, March 5. I am visiting Spartanburg on a solo roadtrip, so I sat at the bar for my meal. I walked in and it wasn't very busy, but then next thing I know I turn around and it's slammed!! This was around 6ish. I was honestly surprised with how quickly my food still managed to come even with the sudden influx of people. I was a little bummed because 2 of the beers on tap (the 2 I wanted to try) were unavailable, but the food was good! I ordered the Down South sandwich. It was delicious!! A good portion of food. The chicken was nice and crispy, and it was offset really nicely by the pimento cheese. I ordered the fries as my side, and they were pretty generic crinkle fries. I'll probably try a different side next time. Overall, a good dining experience, and I will be back when I come back through Spartanburg!!

This was our second time here and it was outstanding!! You just can't get better chicken anywhere Katie was great too!
