Really fun place to go and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Stopped by as part of a cross country road trip on the recommendation of friends. Great live music, strong drinks, and surprisingly phenomenal food (the Cajun Oysters were so good I had a second round). Mike and Ben at the front desk were so friendly that I think I chatted with them for 30 mins after leaving Only annoying thing is a $5 cover which I understand during a busy period but not Tuesday mid-week in off season. It’s still worth it though

Google
What a place, we didn't eat here so we cant rate the food. The place is unique and fun. Theres many different levels and places to go inside so you definitely won't feel clostrop closer smothered. It's like we'd say back home a dive bar but that's not a bad thing that's the most fun and welcoming. There was a guitarist who was very good in the 1 section, the bartender we met she was super super cool nice older lady smiling and joking around with us and her personality was very warm friendly and welcoming. Im not sure if most of the people that were there was on vacation like us or locals but everyone seemed to be happy and having a great time. It's hard to put into words what this place is exactly like so you'd just have to experience it and look at the pics.

Google
I will start off by saying this place is kinda a tourists trap to me. I paid 5 dollar cover at 8PM on a Tuesday. But oh well then I go to order a drink the total is 15.50 I only get 2.50 back not sure if they do auto grad on tabs but if they do they need to state so I am guess the lady bartender just thought I wouldn’t notice it was annoying. Also a bunch of 🐭 mice outside. I guess this place is a good time but maybe later in the night and not when the bartenders are pocketing your money.

We sat outdoors and the food was fabulous! We had the tuna nachos and we loved them. Nice place to pull your boat up and have waterfront dining with a casual atmosphere.

Google
Had an amazing night while down on spring break. Music was great at both bars. Was so much fun. Lots of great band/crowd interaction . They have a photo booth-which was a lot of fun as well. Highly recommend for parents night out or for college students looking for a great bar

Google
First visit! Had a Bushwacker!! Wasn't very busy when we were there but very cool place. Live music and atmosphere was very enjoyable!

Google
It's a nice place in the day & at sunset. But the 4th of July 🎇 was spectacular ‼️ Oh my, we left at 10 pm, and the masses of people that we had to brace for during our exit was insane🤯‼️ Hundreds of young people were just arriving, and security was tight lines out the door. Next time we'll be prepared.... This time, we ordered Über to get there & pick us up. ⭐️Best decision ever....

Google
This place is awesome! The energy and the vibe it gives is outstanding. To the good food, the cold drinks, the many stages of live music, and the very nice staff, what more do you want or need? Lol If you are down near Pensacola Florida, Orange Beach Alabama, or Gulf Shores Alabama, please put this on your list of things to do. 😊😊
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely worth the stop! Historic tourist and local spot to unwind at! Who could have imagined 60 years ago that having 5 different stages and bars would turn into the business they have today?!! Walk around the place if you can before grabbing a table... every area features a different style of music. Drinks are beer or 5 different beachy drinks.. Food is quickly prepared and is all finger food. Oysters are available !!! Community events are held here every month and tickets sell out fast. If you do not like crowded come early in the day. Nights are packed with parties, bachelor s and bachelorette groups!!!

Yelp
We showed up on thanksgiving only because we were traveling and hoped it was open. They apparently serve quite the feast here on T-Day. If you bring a dish you can eat for free, if not, it is a $5.00 charge. The line wrapped out the door into the parking lot and around the building! We had a couple of drinks over the 2 plus hours we were there, but sadly had to get going before we could wait in the line, as we had reservations in New Orleans we had to get to. What a great beach bar and an institution this place is, and we will plan better for our next trip!

Yelp
Got carry out burgers ate back at room. We are right next door. Service was quick and friendly. Place looked very inviting. Will definitely return to get a feel of the night life.

Yelp
Always a great spot to stop. Multiple levels with bars and live music at different levels. Right on gulf with wonderful views. They even have a beach bar. Service is always fast and friendly. Drinks are delicious. We didn't eat this time but have in the past it was good.

Jim H.

Yelp
Update Decided to stick around and give it a chance. Ended up having a good time. Great bar diverse crowd good music
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
The food was average nothing to rave about. You go for the music and to drink. Also there is a cover charge if you don't get in I believe around 6 pm. If you're into this good on you... not one I would ever go back to.
google avatar

Ivana S.

Yelp
I did not eat here but I came with family to have a good time after thanksgiving. there was a large male who came to our table and 2 minutes later my phone went "missing" as we were walking out we noticed he got kicked out so I asked him if he had my phone... well his wife went nuts and the bouncer Mike told us we had to leave. Mike continued to yell at my husband for simply standing at florabama. so disappointed in the people in charge here. this could have been fixed by a bouncer who actually worked.

Yelp
Huge. We came here AFTER the spring break rush but did experience the traffic during the mullet toss weekend. I couldn't begin to tell you how many different bars/areas are in this place. Indoors - outdoors and multiple levels. We were still able to experience some live music which was cool. There were still a few lingerers from the massive weekend still hanging out and having a good time.
google avatar

Donna R.

Yelp
Visited for a pre Christmas party and had THE BEST time! Watch out for the bra slingers and don't be afraid to "bar hop" within the venue! 18 to party and 21 to drink! Bands, wait staff, bartenders and security all work hard here!

Kim B.

Yelp
Sandwiches the best I've had in the area. They were delicious. Bread was amazing. Condiments were perfectly seasoned.
google avatar

Angela J.

Yelp
Fabulous place for a large group. There's a variety of activities consistently happening. A walk to the beach to reserve an umbrella and chairs. Friendly staff. Leave guns and alcohol at home; bags are checked. Huge souvenir shop, mini Photo Booth and several stages for music. Definitely returning!

Yelp
Great food and drinks. Fun and historic establishment. Must visit when in the area.........

Yelp
Stopped at the newer Back Bay Inside/outside location across from original location. Terrific view of Ono Island and inland waters. Friendly help. Great oysters. Great taps. Great frozens to go. Not as complicated as the original location. Even more enjoyable. Go, relax, enjoy.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch after touring Naval Air museum on a Tuesday. Parking is very scarce. My parents shared a shrimp basket and I ordered the Oyster sampler. They were Cajun, parmesan and one with bacon. The oysters are small and 12 can feed 1 person easily. I walked the beach and may have been in Florida and Alabama at the same time. Stopped at gift shop. I really liked this colorful sweatshirt, but it was a 3x. I can cinch it somewhat and roll the sleeves. Bought it anyway. Also bought a Floribama license plate. We didn't go to the other floor to listen to music or play bingo. Didn't stay too long, as I was with my 70-80 year old parents. No alcohol drinking either. It's so stupid to have a tip line when you order and pick up the food yourself.

Beth W.

Yelp
Love this place !! So much fun & great food & drinks. Really hard to have a bad time here! Indoor/outdoor seating is equally great. Walk across the way to the outdoor bar & get a frozen Pinky Swirl - delicious drink !!!!

Yelp
This place is supposed to be the wow of the south in Gulf Shores. We tried to get in to assess it for ourselves. However, the Stasi security & search service made the experience so annoying that we abandoned entry attempts and called it a day. We get it -- this place can attract crazy, unsavory types and others who get drunk and go crazy. We understand the need for searches at the gate. But search and seizure is a matter of judgment. Draconian methods with senior citizens simply wanting to look around are a bit much. But we know from experience even old folks can get crazy under the influence. For us, carrying cameras, pocket tools, a pocket knife with tools to adjust our equipment, and the remains of dinner we had elsewhere in styrofoam boxes, all of which were forbidden for entry, the screening was a bit too much. Too bad for the business. We were there to write a travel story about the place as part of a group of travel bloggers/journalists in Gulf Shores for a weekend. Others will gain the sunshine they lost. Go, if you don't mind putting up with the screening.

Yelp
Very cool bar, we were here during the day and there was music on two of the stages. I would love to experience this place at night but be aware no kids after 6pm here but kids are welcome after 6 at the Flor-Bama Yacht club. I loved the shrimp taco's, Cajun oysters, and the bushwhacker. Regular oysters, chicken sandwich, and key lime colada were good as well. All 3 boys and their friends disliked the tenders, so yeah, maybe avoid those.
google avatar

Dustine D.

Yelp
My first time here and i loved it!! Constant different live music through out and great atmosphere. Didn't make night time but wanted to. Plan on coming back and staying walking distance if we can find a place for 3 or 4 couples.

Yelp
Iconic, colossal, divey, dingy, and gritty, Flora-Bama offers everything from tons of live music, too many bars to count, eats ranging from an oyster bar to fast casual family dining with everything from crispy dill pickles to crusted yellowfin tuna to filet mignon, an annual mullet toss [the fish, not the haircut], lotto tickets, packed dance floors, souvenirs and merch galore, ubiquitous lingerie hanging from the rafters/beams, a package store, patio/deck, marina, yacht club, graffiti galore, beach access, and Sunday live worship services including Bible-based teaching-- well that's the Flora-Bama experience: truly something for everyone!! I've been to the Flora-Bama too many times to count over the years and [I'm sure glad these walls can't talk], I have some F-B stories that are, well, better left untold. Now that bad decision-making days are long gone, when in the Orange Beach area, F-B is my group's destination for 4 things: scratch off lotto tickets [thanks F-B! We still don't have a lottery in Alabama]; a dozen or so raw oysters [or Royal Reds if they are available]; a Solo cup of white wine with a couple of ice cubes to keep it cool and classy; and a seat on one of the picnic tables the deck. Oh, and we always have to peruse the merchandise, as one Alabama news reporter described as a "gift shop that rivals a Dollar General, only with more expensive...merchandise" [Kelly Kazek at al.com]. The Flora-Bama serving staff are on their game and they have to be due to the masses who frequent the place! This isn't your quiet hole-in-the-wall where you sit at the bar and chat up the bartender. If you expect that at the Flora-Bama, you may have to forfeit your Southern Card. The bouncers/ID checkers are legit, for good reason, folks from all over frequent this establishment, I can't imagine trying to keep up with all the national and international credentials potential patrons present as ID. You never know who you may bump into at the Flora-Bama, usually someone you know from northern-mid Alabama who, like you, is vacationing in the "Redneck Riveria" as we affectionately call it, is likely there too! Then there's famous folks like Kenny Chesney and Jenna Bush Hager [among countless others] who've popped in. Do visit the Flora-Bama! You can't miss it, as dusk approaches, there's always Police cars with lights flashing at the crosswalk from the parking area to the main complex. You will definitely leave with fun merch, a full belly and fond memories!

Yelp
Cool but definitely a dive!!! Staff was friendly and made sure of the plenty of choices to order Awesome live music Will return

Rachael M.

Yelp
Looking for a honky tonk?? This place is what I would describe as a honky tonk with a grunge vibe. There are multiple stages and a variety of genres but the bar is a mega version of a dive bar Fun spot with surprising talent.
google avatar

Greg C.

Yelp
Just a fun atmosphere and enjoyable place. If in the area it's a must visit place. If you enter after 6 pm there is a cover charge. Only a few food options as their restaurants are across the street. This is a live music venue.
google avatar

Tabitha D.

Yelp
Yes!!!! This is our vibe, our crowd of people!! The first bar we approached and ordered from, the lady was an ass, but the others were great! There's so much to see here and the history is cool! There's live music on every floor and room! I'd visit here 100 times over again! Must do if in the area! (We didn't eat food here.)

Yelp
Flora-Bama Lounge & Oyster Bar is an iconic and long-standing establishment (actually, I would go as far as to call it an institution) up here in the Pensacola, Florida area. The Flora-Bama Lounge & Oyster Bar has a fun vibe and I spent many a memorable evening here. The staff is friendly and professional and the drawings are nice and cold. Before I mentioned that I would daresay that the Flora-Bama Lounge & Oyster Bar is an institution here. It sits close to the Florida/Alabama state line and is just a great place. If you are up this way, I would definitely recommend a visit to the Flora-Bama Lounge & Oyster Bar. It is a great place to visit and will make for a memorable evening.

Yelp
Go for the experience but maybe not the food. The smoked tuna dip is very good but nachos are just ordinary. Drinks are so strong all I could taste was the booze and they are stupidly overpriced. If you are just trying to get lit and you aren't interested in the taste of actual drink then this is the place to go. Ladies behind the counter were exceptionally friendly and I really enjoyed the banter. Now I've been there and got the T-shirt (literally) so I can check this one off the list. Not a do over.
google avatar

Madyson C.

Yelp
Stopped by on a week day to grab a drink and play bingo with a friend and her mother. We enjoyed a couple drinks and sat to play the last game of bingo. The place was packed. Bingo was not well organized. Kids were running around like animals screaming and falling all over the place. The lady hosting bingo took several long breaks and even had some random person come play a song so she could sit on her phone and rest. This will probably be the last time I go for bingo or during the day.

Yelp
My family and I have been coming to this area for almost 10 years. We love visiting the Flora-Bama bar!! The atmosphere is wonderful, but the drinks are the BEST! Our favorite bartender is Jason Baker! He remembers us every year! Ask for the Flora-bama Jama!

Preston

Yelp
A lively bar that is definitely more along the lines of a dive bar. I'm not just interested in paying standard bar prices for dive bar atmosphere and quality. It's fun for a one time thing.

Ron M.

Yelp
Worst bar ever, when your security is going crazy on your wife when she is standing in a stall with your daughter while she is peeing and they kick you out the bar is just a little much. Really weird behavior from a bar. Get a grip florabama!
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Big Earl Show! We loved the Big Earl Show. He is and Arteest and a showman. Always sensitive to people's feelings, he entertains with his home grown style and songs. This time, Earl even purchased food and circulated among the crowd offering snacks. Big Earl is a class act in every way and hope his educational show continues for many years to come!

Yelp
We stopped by on our way from Destin back to NOLA. Had a few friends tell us it's a must do stop. Not being into country music I wasn't familiar with the place. We loved it! Tried the infamous bushwacker which was delicious. Strolled on the beach and sat and listened to some live music. Definitely a place I'd return to.
google avatar

Karen K.

Yelp
This was another delicious spot in gulf shores that can't be missed! Loved the chill vibe and food was so fresh and good. Our waiter hustled around like nobody's business too!
google avatar

Jimbo T.

Yelp
FloraBama is the best place ever for live music, food, and just to hang out with friends. Make sure you ask for Stephanie Smith for your beverages. She is the best at making their famous Bushwhacker. Stephanie is sweet, attentive, and just a great person to hang around. Tell her Jimbo sent ya!

April E.

Yelp
This place is so unique! Lots of bar options, different live bands, and amazing food! We got beef nachos and McClellan oysters and they were both delicious.
google avatar

Loye L.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere for adults. The bushwhacker is awesome. Husband be careful with wife if you get her the bushwhacker
google avatar

Tony R.

Yelp
What's not to love? Multiple places to eat and drink. It is easy to get lost and a little confusing on where the best part to drink and eat is. We decided to sit on the beach we're there are tables and chairs set up in front of the outside bar and they have live music. A most relaxing time out there or you can party your hearts content inside with a live band can be on 3 different stages. Got kids? There's a quieter location across the street. Definitely a a bucket list type of place to see.
google avatar

Katie D.

Yelp
I can't say good enough things about this bartender!! She was all smiles, cracked little jokes, radiated positivity and definitely has a passion for her profession!! Our drinks were served quickly, they tasted delicious and she gave the same attention and service to everyone I watched her interact with!!! 10/10 recommend this place solely on how awesome she was!! The beach vibe and view is just a plus!! I will be on the lookout for her every time I come in here now! I tried to snap a picture of her but it came out blurry so her card will have to suffice! Way to go Stephanie, thanks for brightening my day just a little bit more! Cheers!!

Heather D.

Yelp
This place is so much fun. The music, the beach, the food. I never have a bad time. Yacht Club and the Firecracker calamari, yummy! The Solar Energy at ol river grill, delish! This is our hangout when we're spending the day on the water.
google avatar

Yelp
Flora-Bama hospitality is awesome. Clara and Carolina at the down stairs oyster bar got right and feelin light! Talk about one helluva bush wacker. Bar is over all awesome. Clara and Carolina made the service awesome
google avatar

Brandi T.

Yelp
Fun place, decent food. Staff was so nice! Love the southern hospitality! Easy beach access. We visited during the day and the kids loved it also.
google avatar

Sana K.

Yelp
Pretty huge spot. Multiple levels and bars/ areas to hang out at. We went during mardi gras and it was pretty empty. They had 2 live bands going about the same time. They have a game room. Smoking area. Apparently you can smoke in some public restaurants in Florida. It was very weird and took some getting used to. You can write your name on the walls of this establishment. Lots to explore

Shonna R.

Yelp
Always a good time here but the food is SO good. That tropical bull blaster had rum, pina colada and coconut Red Bull and it was so refreshing and light! Cajun oysters were spicy and had such great flavor. I asked for my shrimp tacos grilled and they were perfect to share with my hubby. Great trip!
google avatar

Karen K.

Yelp
Service with a smile and great brunch and bebidas (drinks)! Look for Pinky -but she'll likely find you first! She's attentive and creative, great and grateful
google avatar

Erin H.

Yelp
We came for a bachelorette party. Although the music was fantastic and the multiple bars were something cool to experience, we found that we received a lot of disrespect from the patrons. I got shit for being a tall woman, and we all got mean mugged by almost everyone there. So, it's an awesome bar, but maybe not great for a bachelorette party.
google avatar

Mason M.

Yelp
This is the best spot in Gulf Shores! The oysters are solid and you gotta try a Bushwhacker!
google avatar

Bob B.

Yelp
We didn't have any food but we had plenty of bushwhackers and Long Island iced teas. The energy level of the bar was great even during the day. The wait staff were all super nice and attentive. I would definitely recommend for an upbeat place to hang out to get out of the sun for a bit or after the sun has gone down.
google avatar

Christine E.

Yelp
I love this place so much ! Everyone is so kind and the patrons all have one thing in common - a good time ! I've been there 6 times and never have seen a fight or someone not be cool! The Coors lights are cold and the Bushwackers are strong ! RTR
google avatar

Madelyn W.

Yelp
visited the flora-bama for the first time this weekend. we ate at the yacht club across the street. the fried crab legs and shrimp tacos were delicious! definitely must try a bushwhacker and top it with a screwball shooter. it's pretty pricey but definitely worth it for the atmosphere. wonderful live music on the beach! an OBA classic!

Yelp
This place is a legend. I've heard about it for years and many people have told me I needed to check it out sometime when I was in the area. We finally made it! Our plane landed in Pensacola way before check in time and we were hungry so we made a pit stop (a little out of our way!) to check it out. We arrived about 11-11:30 ish and the place was pretty quiet. We ordered shrimp baskets (mostly because we love Gulf shrimp) and I ordered a Bushwacker because I had read that this area is especially known for them. A Bushwacker is a boozy milkshake and it was delicious. But, the food was nothing special. After we finished our meals we walked throughout this establishment to check it all out. This place is HUGE!! Nothing really nice about it, but the history of it. There were many bars placed strategically throughout the building. And there was a gift shop too. I personally wouldn't make a special trip out here again, but I'm so happy I went and knocked this place off my bucket list!! It's definitely a fun place.
