Flora Macdonald

When I come back to the Isle of Skye, It's nearly a guarantee I'll stay at the Flora MacDonald again. Max is an excellent host and took good care of us. We rented the private room (which had its own toilet, but a shared shower). The room worked great for us. Kitchen and shared shower were both in good shape. The hostel is stocked with a few items if you miss the store on the way in. The road into the hostel is a little rough, but nothing out of the usual for Scotland. We had a great stay all around. The horses in the field outside the hostel are great, and the views behind them are stunning. We can't wait to come back!

Enjoyed staying in this hostel. The views are beautiful and the building is spacious with a nice common area. The horses are cute too. Shower gets hot! Bring your own towels. Kitchen is clean and well labeled. A nearby grocery market is easy to find... Overall, I would recommend this hostel.

Amazing little hostel, we weren’t sure what to expect but it was one of my favourite ever hostel stays. There are 2 separate kitchens depending on where your room is situated, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the owner was very friendly. The views outside in the morning overlooking the mountains and the fields was absolutely wonderful. Can’t recommend enough

Fiona, the owner, was incredibly nice and helpful, and provided us with all the necessary information we needed to fully enjoy our stay on the Isle of Skye. Great value for money! The hostel is very clean and facilities are accessible and functional.

The Bunkhouse was fab, homely feel with plenty of space! I went with a large group of friends from university so we hired the whole bunkhouse! We had a wonderful stay. Fiona was brilliant and welcomed us on arrival with a tour and even went over the map of the island with us and provided recommendations of things to do! The beds were comfy, the showers were great and there was even a lovely log burner in the main building so it was nice and toasty! The bunkhouse is conveniently located for exploring the south island but its easy enough to drive to the north with a car! It is also just a few minutes drive from the ferry terminal at Armadale! Would definitely stay again , I would even come back with my family!
