8 Best Hostels in Budapest in 2025

"I found Flow Spaces to be the quietest, most chill option on the list — a centrally located, minimal, clean, and modern hostel just steps from the Great Market Hall. There are no organized social activities (a rarity), it has a kitchen, and the dorms feature cozy pod-style beds with curtains, outlets, lockers, and reading lights, making it ideal if you want a calm place to stay." - Matthew Kepnes

Great hostel!! Having now been in 17 countries over the last 18 months, I have to say this is top 3 hostels I’ve stayed in. Just a really laid back but professional atmosphere. It feels safe, and you’re never feeling insecure about your belongings. The staff are great. Just a vibe!

This is a tough hostel to review. On one side it has probably the best facilities I have ever seen. Spacious rooms, lockers, three kitchens, many clean bathrooms, media room for TV, long terrace for smokers and a lot of space to work, hang-out and even do yoga in the mornings. What you get for the price is surprisingly good. On the other hand, in 8 years of travels I have never encountered a staff as unfriendly and unwelcoming as this one, no one salutes you when you come in, reply to a simple "good morning" or even say goodbye when you check out, they even got an online check-in system so you don't have to interact with them - It's pretty clear that non of the people working here has ever been outside the country with a backpack. You know the saying "home away from home"? Well this definitely ain't that. Greaaat spaces tho.

The bed is really comfortable and also it is calm because it has a curtain. In the other hotels where I was it did not have that luxury. The only downside that I can think of is that the Bathroom is really small, like almost there is 0 space there. Otherwise it is amazing

2 euro for towel, 5 euro for leaving your luggage after check out. No heating! They forgot to clean my room - I got in the beginning a used bed + very disgusting bathroom. Very loud - the common area just inside the dorms area. The rudest stuff I saw in Europe. (Other Budapest hostel was one of the best stuff).

Very cool hostel in the Kalvin Ter area. Close to the market hall. The beds are comfortable, there are curtains and the bathroom is clean. The boxes are spacious and there is a smaller box on each bed for daily needs. The inside is modern, the kitchen and the facilites were very nice. My main complaint is the uncomfortable ladders for the bunk beds, they're only metal bars, no support so with barefoot its very hard to get up and down. However, the staff were helpful, and when I asked to be moved down to a bottom bed they quickly helped and allowed me to move. I would definitely recommend this place.

The people are great and the place is very hygienic . (Trust me , the cleaning service is fantastic and the bathrooms and toilets are very very clean) . The location is very great (city center) You will never get a place with such a low price in the city center . (9~ 11 euro per night I think) 🤩 I met more than 20 nationals from all over the world just in 5 days.. There is a lounge /gallery, silent room , and a shared kitchen with all utilities available with free food sometimes...We can cook our food together with many foreigners and chill out. 🥰🥰 I really really miss the place and people I met😭😭, I wish I would have stayed a little bit longer. 💯💯✅✅❤❤

My stay was pleasant. They have a curtains for each bed, that will give you some privacy The location was great. Easy access to lots of the tourist attractions. Kitchen was fully equipped

+ great location + huge rooms ( except 208) +good bathrooms + great staff + huge kitchen + beds are ok as a world traveller, one of my favourite hostels in an charming building - smell of smoke, a bit too much for my taste as a non smoker. Everyone is allowed to smoke on the huge balcony and the smoke spreads everywhere.
