The low country boil my family ordered was the BEST I’ve ever had in my life. Perfectly seasoned, generous portions, and fairly priced for SO much food. I do not think it’s possible to top this meal.

Momma Bear Buckley

Google
Purchased jumbo shrimp, she crab soup, crab dip & shrimp dip. All were wonderful! Cooked the shrimp in our rental, could not believe how huge they were! She crab soup was frozen but when defrosted & heated it tasted so good! Husband ate dips on bagels, the rest of the family on crackers, very tasty. Prices were reasonable. Will definitely stop back again when visiting Edisto Island.

Artesha Rodriguez

Google
Worth the drive! Food was fresh, flavorful, and fried to perfection. Staff was friendly and ordering was easy.

Google
Flowers is a small local fresh sea food place. We stopped and purchased shrimp and scallops and brought them back to our rental and cooked. They were delicious. We plan to go back!

Google
My family and I have been coming to Edisto for 15 years and we love everything we get at Flowers Seafood! Always fresh and clean seafood. If you ever have a question or need a suggestion they're always very helpful and kind.

April Robertson

Google
We ordered from the food truck while we were on vacation on 6/19/25. I called in our order, we ordered scallops, crab cakes, shrimp, and a chicken sandwich, all with fries, the scallops, crab cakes and shrimp came with slaw and hush puppies also. When my daughter returned with our food, we were all extremely disappointed, everything was fried to death, the crab cakes were so dark they almost looked burnt, the shrimp were almost chewey, it was a very disappointing experience. We had eaten there before and it was very good, so I’m not sure what happened.

Tina Canady

Google
I ordered the fried shrimp seafood basket. It was fried too long so the shrimp were hard. The slaw was good and the fries were good.

JR Busbee

Google
Vacationed all week at Edisto Beach and planned to end it with the low country boil, was very excited. But, was so disappointed with what we got. Hardly edible. So many wasted blue crabs. Second year in a row.

Yelp
Came here on suggestion from Yelp. Did not disappoint. Food was hot and fresh, great flavor.

Yelp
edisto YUMMERZ!! Must go!! Don't drive by it. Small food truck behind the Flowers Seafood Company. Grouper bites to die for! We also tried their shrimp, onion rings, and wings. We sat in their parking lot as it was a little to chilly for outside seating. Enough food for next day. Next stop Botany Bay Plantation. We were in need of a long hike after all the good eats. We WILL BE BACK!
google avatar

Marvin S.

Yelp
Went there and bought $87 worth of seafood. Got grouper, shrimp and oysters. All was fresh. Ate shrimp on Tuesday, oysters on Wednesday and grouper on Thursday. My wife prepared them deliciously. Gentleman that served us was polite and efficient. Saw a menu there while making our purchase. It was for a food truck that they have that is behind the store. Open Thursday thru Sunday. Got shrimp po boy wife got fried oysters. Amazing food. They have a picnic shelter our back to ear in or you can take it home. PS. The $87 I spent on fresh seafood would have been that price nightly (or more) if we'd have eaten in a restaurant. Highly recommend Flowers Seafood.

Yelp
Flowers is the best fresh seafood around! Other than the winter months, they sell cooked food as well, which is delicious! We brought home some fresh shrimp and scallops and cooked them up ourselves. They were delicious! This is a local outfit, and well worth a stop when you are in town!

Yelp
We had the small bucket low country boil, which we substituted the blue crab for snow crab legs at an upcharge since they were out. The other option would've been for more shrimp. Also got an order of catfish basket (included coleslaw, hush puppies, fries) for the kids. We called in our order pre-arrival and it would be ready in 30 minutes. We arrived nearly an hour later and it was still warm. - Quantity was good, got more than expected - Flavor was good, not bad. Wish there was a little more spice to the boil and maybe some potatoes. Catfish had good breading, not overly battered and fried perfectly. It came with a tangy mayoie dip. Added a squeeze of lemon I had on hand to break up the grease and give it some acidity - FYI there's a 3.5% fee for credit card transactions - Overall worth checking out if you're looking for a no frills, super casual experience. Seafood market in front, stopped by and got some fresh jumbo shrimp and made shrimp scampi back at the resort. It was fresh and had good flavor.

Yelp
We absolutely LOVE the crab dip from flowers. You won't find any better!! The seafood is fresh, the people are nice, and we look forward to trying the food truck option for lunch next vacation!!
google avatar

Madison R.

Yelp
we enjoyed the gator basket on the way home from Botney Bay. it was UNREAL. so fresh and flavorful. We wish it wasn't so far from our house! We will be visiting again

Yelp
Great little seafood shop on your way or out. Cheapest seafood by far compared to others! Crab legs (for example) are $19.99 lb compared to $26 lb on the island. Friendly service and have everything you need to season up your seafood as well. Great customer service and you can even get a bite to eat here.

Kathleen P.

Yelp
Best local seafood Fresh, generous portions, and the take and go also has a covered area to eat outside. Nothing fancy, but well worth the trip
google avatar

Kristina M.

Yelp
I love supporting small local businesses and will go out of my way to do so. In an area like Edisto, where dining out options are limited, we decided to check out flowers seafood. Ordered over the phone, food was ready in ten mins- sounds good right? No. I will say the good things first: plenty of parking, cheap, fast. Now the horrible: we ordered a variety of food but could only discern one flavor- SALT. Fried soft shell crab? Salt flavor. Calamari? Salt flavor. Chicken wing? SALT. HOOOOLY HYPERTENSION BATMAN! and if you care about food texture, this definitely is NOT the place for you- they only have SOGGY items. Do yourself a favor if you find yourself in the area, drive up a few More miles up the road to Ace Basin Fish camp - best food we had all weekend!

Yelp
This spot is good local spot. Great fresh shrimp, flounder sandwich, salads and crab cakes. We really enjoyed hanging out at the picnic tables out back. The staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions. The shrimp was not deveined so if you have a problem with that beware. The fried shrimp were very good! It is worth a stop if you are on the island. The crab cakes were delicious.

Mary Z.

Yelp
I was very excited to try their fresh seafood, but sadly the flounder I bought was bad- not fresh at all, and this was more apparent after cooking, when it tasted completely inedible (bitter, ammonia smell) - an entire dinner in the trash. The fresh shrimp I bought also had a slightly off smell, and I decided to toss it after the flounder issue. A big waste of $40.

Yelp
Please note: this review is exclusively regarding the on site food truck. The market itself has good quality items at good prices. The truck though, woof. You ever had a meal so bad it ruined your day? 18 dollars for *ONE* crab is ridiculous to start with. But hey, had it been good, this still gets a 3 or so. Totally inedible. Their Old Bay budget must be about $45,000 a month because that one crab (did I mention it was 18 friggin dollars?) had about 3 containers of it on it. Absolutely inedible even if it wasn't a rip off. I'd still recommend the market itself, but you don't want to be anywhere near this garbage.
google avatar

Charles U.

Yelp
Excellent fried soft shelled crabs and steamed oysters. Food truck with a nice place to eat out back.

Ethan T.

Yelp
Great food and some honest, hard working folks. Great service and a nice mom and pop vibe.
google avatar

Amylynne F.

Yelp
Man, this was absolute garbage, and that's where our takeout ended up- the garbage! I understand you have limited options, but take some pride in what you serve! The wings were the only edible thing and they were soggy, so that's not saying much. We also got the fried calamari, and it was tasteless and soggy, and the marinara sauce was so horrible it was a brick. The crabs were fishy and yes, you guessed it, soggy. We were only 5 min down the road so it wasn't the drive. Just nothing good to say about this place.

Yelp
After visiting Edisto for many years, we went back this week for a guys trip to fish. Stopped at Flowers to get a couple pounds of shrimp for bait. Although tray half full, man went in back to get more large shrimp. Mixed them in tray and measured out into bag. Put them firstly on ice but they were the mushiest shrimp we ever had the next day. Half were white from turning bad. Also, I'm used to the place having a seafood odor, but it was really bad today. Y'all can do better than this. Clean it up and serve fresh stuff. Don't trade out the old stuff to people.

Lisa R.

Yelp
The food at this small roadside restaurant is so delicious we drove from Charleston twice during our vacation. They have the very best fried grouper and shrimp I've ever eaten. No lie. I'm from the Pacific NW so I've had some amazing fish and seafood - nothing even close to Flowers. In fact, we ate there today and writing this review is making my mouth water thinking about it! Do not miss this little gem!!!!
google avatar

Jayne B.

Yelp
We picked up some excellent fresh shrimp, scallops, and she-crab soup here. Everything was fresh and delicious (the soup was my favorite). 4 stars instead of 5 because the smell is pretty atrocious. Not sure if that is something that could be improved, as fish is just pretty smelly I guess. Regardless I would visit again- the quality of the seafood is fresh and reasonably priced.
google avatar

Yelp
On the way to your beach home or heading back up towards home. This friendly yet down home 'Low Country' hot-spot off of 174 serves up some of the best priced shrimp in the area! Fried blue grab is also quality as well!! Wait time...for the three of us: 15 minutes to get our fresh food:) When we're back in the area we'll stop on in again for sure.
google avatar

Melinda D.

Yelp
Definitely a MUST if you're in Edisto! Food truck Heaven! The seafood is so FRESH! We stop here for a quick lunch when we come to the beach.
google avatar

Yelp
By far one of the best places for seafood and a good meal!!!! Located 5 miles outside of Edisto Beach but worth the drive. Have plenty to choose from in terms of low country boil. They have fresh crab and shrimp hat are caught daily. They have other items on the menu like po boys, fried shrimp and scallops and more. They always have "buckets" which is the country boil. There are four different sizes and can easily split between two and eight people. They also cater which is nice if you have an event on the island. It takes 30-40 minutes for them to prepare a bucket so it's a good idea to call it in ahead of time. It is not a "sit down" restaurant by any means. They have 9 picnic tables under a canopy band that's it for seating. Everything is a to go order but it's definitely some of the best food around. Staff is very friendly and cooperative. Prices are reasonable for fresh seafood. Definitely a place to go while visiting!!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
QGood service @their food service and their seafood market. I was in a hurry when I visit their location. Will definitely return to spend more time. I did notice they had very competitive pricing @their seafood market. If I lived in this area I would definitely shop their carryout and market.
google avatar

Mark F.

Yelp
This is an old school seafood market and food truck combined. The employees and owner are true island people and seem to love what they do. I stop in at least once per week
google avatar

Jeff W.

Yelp
Soft shell crab was amazing, fried oysters were decent, and they were out of blue crab that day so didn't get to try them out. Not a fan of the fries they were cold and soggy.

Glen L.

Yelp
6/5/21. On a Saturday I knew they'd be busy. They always are. The line to order and the wait on the food wasn't a problem. Fresh fried shrimp is supposed to pop. This was more like a tug of war. The shrimp was over cooked and tough. The flounder was dry and overcooked. The scallops were perfect, but couldn't make up for the other two. Most of the meal went in the trash, it just wasn't worth eating. This is the first time we've been disappointed with Flowers. We'll try again next time. Just hoping it was an off night.
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
The smell in this place is repulsive (like other reviewers have mentioned), but I'm not sure much can be done about that since it is a fish market. Otherwise, the shrimp was delicious and fresh!
google avatar

Jonathan W.

Yelp
First try we ordered food they ran out of propane so we tried days later Well when we finally get food it tastes like the food been sitting out for hours . I don't recommend this place at all. Stay far far away
google avatar

Craig G.

Yelp
Good food and a decent price. Our party of six each ordered something different so we got a great sampling of the different offering and everybody was happy with their meal. The other patrons were getting their orders to-go, but we ate on the picnic tables nearby. They're under an aluminum canopy and the industrial fans fought off both the heat and the mosquitoes and we enjoyed our visit. This visit was mid-June, so in late July or August I may get it to-go as well. We've been customers of Flowers for over 30 years, long before they had the food-truck option, and their quality has been consistent. I'm glad we finally got around to trying their cooked offerings and I can see this being added as one of our Edisto traditions.

Yelp
True low country seafood. Behind Flowers Seafood retail business is a food truck that cooks the seafood you can buy at the retail store one order at a time cooked to perfection. Come hungry as the portions are enormous! The seafood is accompanied by French fries and hush puppies. Don't forget to stop heading or leaving Edisto Island. They close for a time in the winter so check their web site to find out when they open for the year. We stopped on our way back from Edisto after we got married on the dock at Beckett Plantation

Yelp
We are staying at Edisto Beach State Park and heard good things about Flowers Seafood and the take out food truck, so we gave it a try. It's only a short drive, about 20 minutes from campground. We ordered fried shrimp, fried oysters and hush puppies. They were cooked perfectly and were hot and delicious. The batter was just right. After ordering our food was ready in 10 minutes. A great place for seafood, to go or to buy and cook for yourself.
google avatar

Ernie G.

Yelp
Best seafood @ Edisto.! Ordered 2 lb of fried shrimp and 3 baskets of fries - fed all of us and was delicious ! Love this place, continues to be my favorite restaurant - this place always stays swamped but they get the food out to you within about 5-10 min.
google avatar

Maddie M.

Yelp
We were staying on the highway, about 10 minutes from the beach and saw this place while passing by three times. It's a small shop, which sells an assortment of fresh seafood, but also has a food truck in the back. They have many kinds of fish, crabs and other shellfish so if you are visiting from out of town and would like to buy some, make sure you bring coolers to bring it home without it going bad. We didn't buy any seafood, but ate at the food truck and loved it! They have amazing seafood, so fresh and so reasonably priced! We had the soft shell crabs, the shark bites, and fresh peel-n-eat shrimp. The shrimp was so great! I had some leftovers which I brought home and made shrimp tacos with them... it was great, and I got two meals out of one! I didn't eat the shark bites since I'm allergic to fish, but my husband raves about them to this day. The seating is outdoor, but they have a big tent with picnic tables underneath. There's a big open area for dogs to run around or to play with kids. Customer service is great too! Can't wait to come to Edisto again so we get to eat here some more!
google avatar

Blake A.

Yelp
Fantastic fresh fried seafood! It takes a while, so be prepared. But it's because everything is 100% made to order. I got the shrimp, sharkbites, and soft shell crab combo and it was fantastic. If you are in the mood for wonderful fried seafood then this is a must!
google avatar

Troy S.

Yelp
This place was worth back to back eats. Last night we grabbed some friend shrimp, hush puppies, fire, and coleslaw for $12. We got a pretty hefty amount of shrimp which my wife and I shared. I had eaten at Happy Hour a two hours earlier so I wasn't starved. I would say it is enough for 1.5. Tonight my in laws stopped in and grabbed a basket of fried shrimp, steamed shrimp ($10 each), hush puppies, and a dozen oysters ($10 special)- fried and steamed. Wow what a great meal. I am from Ohio so I don't know what rest taste like but I am pretty sure this was fresh as it was juicy wondrous goodness in every bite. This place has two options- buy it and cook it yourself or go to the food truck and have them make you some goodness. We elected for the latter and have not been disappointed. They have special every night so look for their deals. Most meals are $10 and above. They also have crab dip and other premise items inside. Call ahead if you have a big order as they cater and can make bulk ordered as well as meals. It doesn't look like much but the customer service is awesome as they show some good southern hospitality.
google avatar

Sarah T.

Yelp
The food was fresh and hot. It is a food trailer beside the road on the way into Edisto. Go to the window and order and we didn't wait very long I had oysters and sea scallops. My husband had shrimp, oysters and scallops and his was good. Lots of hush puppies and fries. We had two meals off of it actually. They had picnic tables in back with fans going. It was good. The food was NOT over cooked or breaded too heavy. It was cooked just right.
google avatar

Shelly Z.

Yelp
We had left Edisto beach early to get here in time before it closed after missing out last time we were in the area. Ordered the 3 combo platter with shark bites, shrimp, and soft shell crab. My favorite was the shrimp! Everything tasted fresh and was made to order. The batter was a great consistency and tasty, and everything was fried perfectly. Also really enjoyed the coleslaw that came with the basket. Prices are reasonable. Most people seem to take their food to go, but there are picnic tables in the back.
google avatar

Miguel M.

Yelp
First things first, my husband and I are not from the south so often times we aren't impressed with the restaurants we find. It's either too salty or too greasy or masks the flavors of the food. With that being said we, and by we I mean "I", are picky. This was by far the most satisfying meal we have had since living in GA. SPECTACULAR. Cleanliness 5 The grounds are very tidy. Atmosphere/Ambiance 5 It's not a dine in spot, it's take out only BUY they do have a picnic area if you desire to sit and eat. Service 5 The staff was very pleasant. Food 5 We ordered a small plate of shark as well as a scallop/shrimp combo which comes with slaw, hush puppies and fries. The food is cooked to order and EVERYTHING was hot. The scallops were by far our favorite and you could tell by the taste that they were fresh. They were the highlight of the meal! The shrimp and shark were also tasty. For me, the batter on the shark was slightly salty but tolerable. We live three hours away and will definitely take a drive to come back again!
google avatar

Charles T.

Yelp
Always great, fresh seafood. Mr Flowers and his staff are friendly and cook up a great dinner. There is a outdoor covered area for your comfort and you can call in an order for pick up. Stop at the store and get a few pounds of Edisto shrimp to take home or on the road, they will even pack it in ice with your cooler.
google avatar

Wasim A.

Yelp
What a hidden gem. Great food, great quantity. I ordered a platter with shrimp and oysters. It came with slaw, fries, and hush-puppies. Everything was made to order at the moment and served to go. A great place to order ahead and take back to your house, campsite, or beach. They also have covered picnic tables if you wanted to hang back and eat it while it's hot. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jazzmine A.

Yelp
One word: AMAZING! I have them a couple years back and I can not stop thinking about them! I live in Charlotte and wish I could drive down every week for them!
google avatar

Holly H.

Yelp
Yummy Flouder Basket. Fresh shrimp is delicious!! It is a must when coming to Edisto!!
google avatar

Darla A.

Yelp
It was decent food. We ordered shrimp, scallops, and crab cakes no fries. We got crab cakes, scallops , and a fried fish and fries Check your order before leaving. And fried scallops tasted ok but they were rubber to chew. I'm from out of town won't recommend
google avatar

Krista K.

Yelp
We got takeout from Flowers the last night we were on the island, planning to take it back to feed a group. We ordered the large bucket, which consisted of shrimp, sausage, corn, and crab legs (they would usually serve blue crab, but they were out-- no blue crabs were biting that day!). All of the food tasted great-- a little spicy and just delicious. I could have kept eating those peel and eat shrimp and the crab legs all night. Even the corn tasted good, which was surprising, since it was not in season in March. Everyone was very impressed with the quality of the food. There were even leftovers. The takeout experience was very easy. We called ahead a day before and gave them a pickup time. It was ready when we got there and (barely) fit into our trunk as the pan was so big.
google avatar

Al W.

Yelp
Always fresh and plenty of great local seafood, I love that I can get a 10lb box of crab legs for a $130 bucks and they are quality crab legs
google avatar

Livi G.

Yelp
It was not great. I mean, the calamari was far from crispy. I felt a little sick afterward. The fries were super greasy. The people, however, were really nice. I liked the food-truck feel, and the fact that there was a really nice picnic space with benches at which I could eat. I would have to try some of their other food to make a more accurate judgement. The hush puppies were pretty good. Also, one more thing... how can you be in the Palmetto State and not have sweet tea?!
google avatar

Conchi G.

Yelp
Great flounder sandwich - Loved it I live close by Awesome Variety to choose from Meals r reasonable
google avatar

Aimee H.

Yelp
Five stars because the food is amazing. We have eaten at restaurants all over Charleston, and the Flowers Seafood Co food truck on Edisto delivered! Our daily special stuffed, fried blue crab, whole fried blue crab, flavorful and fresh oysters po-boy, and fried shark with fries were all unbelievably good! This roadside food truck definitely delivers excellent seafood. Your taste buds will thank you and so will your wallet. Seating is outdoors only at picnic tables or take it to go.

brandon s.

Yelp
Great food nice staff. No nonsense just food focused which is amazing. Prices are also nice
