This place is so much more than just somewhere to stay — it’s a space where you can feel safe, relax, enjoy yourself, and connect with others. The Flutterby team is among the kindest people I met during my trip to Costa Rica. They offered great local recommendations, served delicious breakfasts, and created a fun, positive atmosphere. They also allow pets! If you prefer more privacy, you can book the family room — it has its own kitchen and bathroom. You can’t beat the quality for the price. If I visited Uvita again, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

We had a private cabin, which had everything we needed and was super affordable. It definitely felt like a basic place though, for instance when it rained hard we had a lot of water leaking through the roof in different spots. We were hoping it was going to have a friendly, social atmosphere and that we’d be able to get some recommendations of what to do in the area, but it didn’t really have that feeling. Instead it was really quiet and the people working there didn’t seem interested in chatting. That might have been due to us staying midweek before the start of the dry season. It’s super close to the beach though, we walked there every day for the sunset. That was worth the stay alone!

Fernando’s a literal king. We came from the Caribbean with an awful experience and he ensured we had a smooth check in, comfortable rooms , and explained the entire place to us. Turned our entire experience around!! This place is so cute and an amazing location!!

It’s the location that did it for me. It’s literally 2 minute to the beach and very easy to pass for free if you ask. The guy running the place was helpful and the treehouse set up was cool. There’s some yoga mats and kettle bells and dumb bells downstairs that you can do a little workout. About a 10 minute walk from the bus stop too which is handy as uvita doesn’t really have a centre. The trapoca bus station was about a 25-30 min walk but you can grab the local bus to it!

Great price and Fernando was super chill and welcoming! Also huge stocked kitchen, and chill hang out area. Two Gerry Lopez foamies available for rent only four bucks an hour.

stayed here for two nights, the rooms were fine, mattresses a little uncomfortable but okay for a few nights. The staff was very friendly and they had a well equipped kitchen, only two showers and bathrooms for the whole hostel though. The location is fine, it’s very close to the beach which is nice but a pretty far walk from everything else which can get a little exhausting especially in the heat.

The most happening place in Uvita! I didn’t stay here but came by for a few nights for drinks and food. The atmosphere with the young hostel crowd is refreshing and inspiring. All of our meals were delicious and the drink menu is extensive. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. What a fun place to hang out!

Travelled to this place and stayed 3 nights before the pandemic. I slept in a tree house with barely one bar to protect me from falling down. The second one was broken. It was quite the experience. Lights shut down at 10 pm and toilets/showers are common.
