Fly Bar and Restaurant

Fly Bar has made a comeback and it's still as cool as ever, even without the rooftop experience. The interior decor is just as stylish and makes for a great hangout spot with friends or a casual date night. Their drinks and food are just as good as I remember them to be. I'll definitely be returning to try more items on their new menu. On this visit, I ordered the hummus and the braided short rib. The hummus was good as expected, and while I'm still waiting for a fun review of a hummus disaster, it was a solid choice. The braided short rib was a standout dish, with a delicious bacon butter topping that added a nice touch of saltiness to the dish. Be warned though, it might be a bit too salty for some, but for me, it was a clean plate kind of meal.

Swanky and super classy little bar in the midst of busy Tampa. Everything on the menu was thoughtfully crafted and was so unique. The cocktails are delicious and fresh! The overall vibe is very trendy and the atmosphere inside is exactly what you want for a date night. The service is excellent and the outdoor seating is so nice when the Florida weather cooperates. Definitely recommend this location if you want to make the evening memorable!

Beautiful place! The inside is so gorgeous. The staff was great. The tapas style smaller portions were great to try multiple things. Drinks were delicious but a bit expensive. Unfortunately our experience was definitely tainted because of the extremely uncomfortable chairs at the high top tables. It was busy so we couldn't move to another low table and the bar was full. Overall, it was a fun experience.

I've been at Fly three times already (we just moved to Tampa in Aug from NY), and we already decided that this is our favorite local restaurant. I did not take pictures of all the things we ate in our visits, but I assure you that everything is outstanding. The drinks are seriously and beautifully crafted. My husband tried several of them; I got stuck with Freddie's dead, because it is delicious and so well done. The things we eat from the menu are: egg rolls (amazing), tuna tonkatsu bao buns (great), beef slides (delicious), tacos al pastor (the right spice and flavor), shrimp dumplings (wow, outstanding), mac and cheese (great), shrimp and crab dip (it was a special, and we wished they would keep it permanently, because it was just exquisitely good), chorizo-spiced salmon (absolutely excellent) and ALWAYS the duck confit because it is amazing, tasty, with the wild rice and we always, always order it. In our first visit, chef Mahlon Randolph came to our table and talked to us, and I could see that he really cared about his restaurant and its customers. That says a lot. ALL the hosts we had on these three visits were perfect. This is a great bar and restaurant, and I can't recommend it enough. PLEASE GO TO FLY!

Bao buns (favorite), tacos, shrimp dumplings, tuna tartare (not pictured - sorry), deviled eggs, tobiko dip and chips, one glass of wine: $120 before tip. All food was delicious. Medium small portions. We sat at the bar - service was decent.

This is a dimly lit intimate spot. We had a great time and our bartender was genuinely kind. He made our experience more memorable. He also told us about other local spots we could enjoy. We tried several dishes on his recommendation and everything was flavorful and fresh.

I have been here few times since it’s so close to campus. We can walk across it’s that close. Service is always great. At times it’s hard to find space to sit for all of us but it’s manageable. I usually go there for drinks but this time I was hungry and wanted a quick bite so I got the rolls ans I was excited thinking it’s as good as their drinks.After the first bite I saw the hair in it and I wanted to vomit! Finding hair in food that’s absolutely a NOOO! I was really disgusted. The server took it off the bill and apologized. I don’t know if I would want to eat there. Finding hair in my food is huge and I get grossed out easily

I have been there a few times and is amazing... The cocktail, and the recommendation from the bartender are exquisite! Ask for Christian! He will give you an amazing service, and magnificent recommendation.
