"A bustling beer bar boasting more than 100 taps, offering an expansive selection for beer lovers and a social, lively environment for sampling a wide range of styles. It’s a destination for those who prioritize variety and casual camaraderie over curated tasting menus." - Amanda Ogle Amanda Ogle Amanda Ogle is a writer and editor who specializes in travel, food and drink, sustainability, and general lifestyle topics. Massive play area outside keeps the little ones busy. Lots of parking. Lots of picnic tables outside where pets are allowed. They have a great selection of brews, cocktails, mocktails; and Monks serves yummy BBQ bites. Easily one of our favorite breweries in the area.

Great spot for barbecue and alcoholic beverages. Wasn't that crowded on a Friday. I am from Oregon visiting a buddy that lives here and he said there is usually a long line to get food and drinks but it was not crowded. Food and drinks were great and the musical talent was excellent as she played a variety of music...not hip hop though but lots of classic tunes you will recognize. Next door they have a place where they sell bourbon and gin so I purchased a bottle of bourbon also for the trip back home but may have had some last night also. For food we had the fried chicken (the magic words), brisket and ribs along with a side of collard greens (needed to cook longer), baked beans and cornbread (sweet and souffle like and delicious).

Alright I'm going to try to give this place an objectively fair review because I like what Flying Ace Farm is about, and I'm a local that frequents this place. 1 - Family Friendliness (4/5 stars): I visit this place with kids. The playground is AWESOME, and the vibes are great for youngsters. (4/5 stars, because it was really messy) 2 - Drinks (4/5 stars) The beer is solid. Overpriced, but solid. If you go next door to the distillery, be prepared to spend $12 for a 1 oz pour of cask-strength bourbon. 3 - Food (0/5 stars) The food sucks. It's not edible. It's insanely priced. I just have to be honest. I live in Purcellville and go to Monk's BBQ all the time. The Monk's BBQ at Flying Ace is nothing like the Monk's in Purcellville. If you go here, do not go hungry, because the food is a waste of money. Here's what I ordered when I visited last Friday: A: Giant Pretzel ($12): Stale and the inside was frozen. The cheese that accompanied the pretzel showed signs of being reheated numerous times, and had a dry & crusty layer on top. It was inedible. B: Ribs Half-Rack ($20): The portions were TINY. I don't know what kind of pig these ribs came from, but the "half rack" was around 5 inches x 4 inches. I measured. This came with approximately 4 tiny ribs. I mentioned this to the staff at Monk's and they were just like "yeah it's tiny"... Totally not worth it. Waste of money. Pretty sure this came from piglet. C: Side of beans ($4.50): Inedible. Thew this away. It was completely dried out and the beans were rock-hard. Was almost certainly re-heated numerous times before being served. D: Cornbread ($4.50): Underdone. Didn't finish this because it was so gross. I'm from Georgia, I've had cornbread all my life. What I got from Monk's was not cornbread. I know how Monks does their "custard style" cornbread, but this was not that. This was soggy and not cooked. I love the potential this place has and what it's about. The vibes are fine, but do not eat here. This is not the Monk's you get in Purcellville. I will be coming back here soon and will revise my review if this place has improved.

First time here and was blown away! The bartender at the distillery was fantastic—he walked us through each step of creating our cocktails and gave us the history of the liquors, the mint infused simple syrup, etc. The mojito flight was incredible! Also, almost everything in our cocktails was homegrown (created/distilled by Flying Ace Farm). We walked over to the brewery side of the farm after, and enjoyed BBQ, live music, and the beautiful outdoor space. They also do free trivia on Friday nights! Highly recommend!

If you like solid beers, spirits and good food, a place worth stopping. Ribs were delicious, we sampled all the sides and the beers were solid and a good selection. If your visiting Harper's Ferry, I think it's worth the ride.

Very solid beers. Great atmosphere - one of the rare spots that can successfully cater to both families and adults. Dog friendly on the covered patio and large, partially-shaded lawn. Oh and some of the best melt-in-your-mouth BBQ I've ever had!

Location is excellent. Half the food menu was unavailable and there was grit in the collards (which the staff took off our bill to their credit). Brought a group here who travelled from out of state and it was a disappointment. We ended up leaving after 1 round and went to Vanish which is more reliable.

Very very neat place... I would highly recommend stopping in and checking them out. The food is pretty good, and the drinks are WAY BETTER!!! They have 2 different sides as VA has some strange laws about drinking Beer and Liquor in the same area??? Once you move past that you will be really surprised at what is inside. The beer side has some great choices, and even a few great sours... They need to get into the heavily fruited sours, and thick smoothie sours though!!! Come on Flying Ace!!! The distillery is a great spot!! The drinks are all made with fresh ingredients, and boy are they all delicious. The Whiskey/Bourbon is really good, and they infuse and wash their own stuff. They do a hell of a job!! I will be back soon, and you should stop in!!!
