An absolutely charming, little bar. Make sure you reserve in advance as they are small and extremely popular, a must-visit bar should you ever venture into Amsterdam. I'd rank this bar to the likes of Satan's Whiskers in London for the uniqueness along with the amazing bartenders (plenty of humour especially if you get seated in the bar area), they conjure up amazing drinks beyond the quirky menu and classic cocktails.

We loved this place. It was small intimate and high quality drinks with service matching it. I loved the menu. Vedy muxh recommended for some good drinks. We loved THE UMAMI MARGARITA!!! Peices from 15€-18€ for one drink.

The drinks were very good. I really liked the atmosphere and vibe. You should probably call ahead as the place is very tight with a bar section, 4 tables and 2 couches. We were lucky that there was space. You can get everything from affordable drinks to drinks that cost $500+ The flying Dutchman drink was a good choice. Starts sour and ends crisp.

We made a reservation, and it was a busy saturday night, so I recommend making a reservation. We were welcomed very friendly, and our table was ready for us. The bartender was very considered of my friends citrus allergy, and made a surprise cocktail for me since I didn't know what to get. It was absolutely delicious, and we were seated right at the bar, so we could see all the bartenders working their magic. Every single bartender had a little chit chat with us, which felt so welcoming and friendly! I also had a mocktail, and that one was just as delicious as their alcoholic drink! We had a fun evening! 100% recommend going here!

Spectacular. The Flying Dutchman is a fantastic spot for cocktails in a unique, historic atmosphere. I particularly love the intimate interior and the welcoming staff—so much so that I found it hard to leave three nights in a row. I highly recommend for a one of a kind, world class cocktail experience.

REALLY great cocktails. The professionalism mixed with how well crafted these drinks were, impressed me very much. I loved all the different spins they put on classic cocktails. It was tiny but still made for a great time. For sure give Flying Dutchmen your business!

One of the best cocktail bars in Amsterdam. The staff knows their craft and takes the time to understand what you like. Service was fast, professional, and warm. Atmosphere is cozy but energetic—perfect for a night out. Every drink we tried was balanced and creative. Highly recommended.

This is a gorgeous bar that serves delicious and creative drinks! The menu has a very fun concept and the decor and theme inside really gives off an amazing ambiance! This is a perfect speak easy type of bar to chill late night and enjoy a delicious cocktail drink! The interior is small and cozy, so perfect for a date or a small group of friends!

We love this classy, beautiful cocktail bar in Amsterdam. Every time we go there, it is a must on our list!! It is on the second floor of a really cool old building, and it's better to make a reservation. The cocktails are definitely very classic, unique and very tasty. All of the bartenders and staff have always been very nice and accommodating. It gets crowded, but they do their best to get everyone a drink. Definitely recommend!!

A very cool, trendy spot with dark lighting, and great cocktails. There's definitely a "vibe" of "coolness", with the downstairs feeling more casual than the upstairs.

Really enjoyed the cocktails here, but be aware that this location is very small. My party of 12 arrived for our reservation and it became clear that there really wasn't enough room for all of us -- our "table" was just two four tops pushed together, so most of us had to stand. We were a bit surprised that they even allowed us to make a reservation for a party of our size, as they had even required a deposit. This just didn't meet our expectations and is the only reason why this review isn't 5 stars. The table drama aside though, I loved the cocktails here. The menu has a super fun way of categorizing the cocktails and some of the cocktails were super creative. One of the drinks I ordered (per our server's suggestion) was a mezcal espresso martini that came with smoked marshmallow on top. It was so delicious! Overall, I'd definitely recommend this bar, but it's definitely suited for smaller groups.

Innovative cocktails in a beautiful space. I especially enjoyed the S'more Coffee martini. And, the only bar I found in AMS that carries multiple bourbons. Beware the narrow, winding staircase, but totally worth it!

...we had positive hopes of enjoying an evening of cocktails here; however - we arrived 8 mins late. This establishments' "grace period" to hold a 7:30pm RESERVATION is published as 25 minutes. As we arrived, we were told that confirmed table had just been given away. I asked the host what time it was and (as we both looked at our phones) both indicated 7:38pm. When I asked how 8 mins was the equivalent to surpassing the published 25 min grace period - the host couldn't answer my question. Then we were told that when they could make room, we would have very limited time, as a private party would be coming into this space. Save yourself some time - very crowded with only a small entry (same as exit) exits - and we witnessed people smoking INSIDE the establishment. Avoid.

Super cool little spot in Amsterdam. The have a fun concept for the drink menu. The staff was super intensive and took their time making quality cocktails. If you are new to the scene suggest you give the genevere based cocktails a try. It was the pre cursor to gin and has a unique malty flavor and one of oldest distilled spirits

My husband and I love trying out World Top 100 Bars across the world when we travel. This was one of the places we tried in Amsterdam, so glad we came here! This was a tiny bar. When we got there, only standing room was available, but within 5 minutes, a few tables cleared, and we were able to grab a seat before we even saw the menu! I loved my cocktails here. One of the ones I got was Tommy's Margarita, which was coincidentally recreated from a bar in San Francisco, located just a few blocks from where I live!!!! (What are the chances!) Their interpretation was delicious - will have to try Tommy's again in my neighborhood to compare. I can't remember my second cocktail, but I do remember enjoying it. The cocktails here are very inexpensive, at 12,50 euro! Wow. Quality cocktails for a fantastic price. Unheard of these days! Service was great here. The head bartender (owner?) came up to us when it wasn't busy, and checked in on our drinks, explaining them in more detail the idea behind them. I enjoyed that personal touch! This is a great place to try. They also don't close until 4 am, nuts right?!

This small cocktail bar has a small house cocktail menu of 10 drinks. All the ones we tried were delicious. The Flying Dutchman is a cozy environment with a friendly bartending staff. They kindly and willingly made my husband a custom spicy cocktail.

Amazing drinks and excellent service. The mixologist recommended the Brazilian Gold Rush and it tasted amazing. I will definitely come back try out other drinks they have to order. Plus the atmosphere is very comfortable and the service is very accommodating.

Small cosy place with great selection of cocktails, extraordinary menu and fast and friendly service. Definitely worth checking out even if you are not a cocktail person: they are so good that you'll become one.

A great place to have a drink when visiting Amsterdam. We stop here every time we visit Amsterdam because of Tineke. She is the bartender there. She is great to talk too and get advice for places to go to dinner. They have a great selection of draft beers too.

This was recommended to us by another bartender, and we're so glad we went. It's newly open as of January 2018. The staff is so friendly and nice, and the drinks were delicious! They have a menu of classic cocktails and include a favor compass to help point you in the right direction if you need some guidance. This place stays open late, which is a plus. Definitely check it out!

Great cocktail bar along the canals of Amsterdam. Bartenders were very friendly and pour an excellent drink. The menu is creative and there is a "flavor compass" to help choose well, the flavor profile you're looking for, but also strength. Definitely a great spot for a drink - I imagine this place gets pretty packed in the later hours.
