Flying Flags is such a fun vacation idea for multiple families. Our five families stayed in Brewhaus and National Park cabins and had a great time. I love how there is so much to do--bocce ball, swimming pools, baseball diamonds, eateries, etc. Even if you do none of those, just hanging out around the fire or BBQing is fun enough. There is also plenty to do within 5 miles of Flying Flags. We visited Los Olivos for wine and shopping, went ziplining, and ate at local restaurants. Perhaps the best part of FF is that it's good for kids of all ages. I highly recommend staying here.

Google
The resort was GREAT! Pool for the kids was the best part. We rented a cottage and it was very comfortable. The accommodation options are very unique from aristeams to safari tents and everything in between.||Nice place to camp. Definitely going back next year.

Google
This RV park is top notch and top quality. Very clean, friendly and accommodating. The grounds are super clean and even the dog park is the best one we've visited. Different themed locations throughout the property and the pool area is like being at a fancy resort. Highly recommend!!

We had a great stay at flying flags for father's day weekend. We made it a long weekend arriving on Friday and departing on Monday. We stayed with our friends in sites 58 & 59. Location to the pool was great but our sites were a bit small for our motorhome.

Google
Everything about this place was great! Everyone visiting and working there was nice and the staff was extremely helpful. The dog park was great and our pup enjoyed running around off leash with other pooches. Do bring a bowl and some water, however. We'll be back!

We love coming to Flying Flags. We always stay in the Ranch Cottages. We like the privacy and the private pool they have. Can't wait for our next stay.

Google
Our family needed to cancel a reservation due to a severe rain storm in the area. We did not feel safe driving our trailer up the freeway with high winds and heavy rainfall. We called to cancel 2.5 days prior to our arrival date, and explained our safety concern. We were told the cancellation would be accepted but our deposit and a fee would be collected. I understand the 72 hour cancellation rule for general cancellations. But in this case, it was a safety concern and the campground was given over 48 hrs notice. This is a very poor way to do business and great way to lose loyal customers. We will not be returning.

Google
Great surprise. 1st RV park experience. The whole operation ran very smooth. This was a great choice for a newbie. Whoever planned this park thought about the details. Staff was friendly and made check in easy and smooth. Food and ambiance were great. Bathrooms were clean. Pools and dog park were very nice. Gym was fantastic. The entire park was very clean, well maintained. Cute town to explore. Will definitely stay again.

Yelp
1. **Misleading Information:** - Upon arrival, I inquired about extending my stay by an extra night. The front desk assured me that it was possible, and I eagerly anticipated an additional day of relaxation. However, I was assigned to site 257--a location that can only be described as the "worst" site. It was adjacent to permanent residents, far from the serene escape I had envisioned. - When I requested a different site, I was informed that all other sites were fully booked. Yet, I observed that sites 263, 251, and 204 in the classic section remained unoccupied throughout my stay. Even premium sites, including numbers 2 and 3, appeared vacant. This misinformation left me questioning the integrity of the information provided by your staff. 2. **Sewer Tank Dumping Issues:** - Throughout our stay, the neighboring rental units' sewer tanks emitted a nauseating odor. It was so unbearable that we found ourselves leaving the campsite frequently just to escape the stench. By 8 a.m. on May 26, we had decided to cut our trip short due to this unpleasant experience. 3. **Resort Fees and Discounts:** - I was surprised to discover that we were charged resort fees without receiving any corresponding benefits. The amenities promised did not align with the reality of our stay. - Equally frustrating was the inability to use our Good Sam, AAA, or peace officer discount. In all our previous visits, this had never been an issue. As a loyal customer, I expected consistency in the application of discounts. 4. **Overall Discontent:** - The site assigned to us was far from satisfactory, especially considering the premium we paid. I had asked three times for an alternative, but my requests were dismissed. - As a result, I regret to say that this experience has left a lasting negative impression. After more than a decade of loyalty, I am seriously reconsidering whether Flying Flags remains the right choice for our future camping trips. I believe in constructive feedback, and I hope that my concerns will prompt improvements. I urge you to address these issues promptly to ensure that other guests do not encounter similar disappointments. As someone who values the camping community, I sincerely hope that Flying Flags can regain its reputation for excellence. Lucy

Yelp
Love that this RV resort in just 30 minutes from home Spacious sites and 2 pools Nice grass area were kids can run around Cons: 3 day minimum stay Fire pits rental fee is $20 a bit steep And does not come with wood Has few showers and restrooms And stay fee is a bit high

Yelp
Very friendly staff, Lauren was funny and accommodating. There are LOTS of sites, this is a large place! Weather wasn't good enough to use the pools, but they looked nice. Well stocked store. We'll be back

Yelp
I was so very disappointed. I was looking forward to our stay at Flying Flags Avila beach. My girlfriend & I are 2 hard working first responders professional people. We rented a cottage for 5 days of rest and relaxation with an ocean view. Upon check in I could not enter my cottage the code didn't work as it turns out the employee sent us to cottage #10 the paper work he gave us was to cottage #9. We returned to cottage #9 the code worked however the cottage was a mess from previous guests and hadn't been cleaned. We returned once again to the manager only to be told that's why the sent us to #10 to begin with at that point they sent a employee to meet us at cottage #10 to let us in after 30 min. Of attempts we were let in. Once in we found d we didn't have an ocean view as promised which was our entire reason for booking our stay here also the sliding door would not slide open or close without major force. The unit next door#9 had an ocean view but they would not clean it for us and give those accommodations to us as it was supposed to have been before the manager switched us to #10. The employees there made us stay in unit #10 with a promise to correct things the next morning. That evening we filled out a card to recieve coffee in the more which to no surprise never came and we went up to the office to get ourselves. Upon going to the office to get our coffee I decide to check on the status of our cottage being prepared for us to be relocated to, only to find out that it was cleaned and given to another guest and we would have to stay in the substandard cottage we were placed in the night before for the duration of our stay as they had over booked guests. P.S. they had taken payment in full from my account before we had even checked in. They said they would take a portion to hold the room before check in and the balance upon departure another lie. We found out on arriving that full payment had been already taken from my account. They took payment for serviceses never provided. Our peaceful , relaxing vacation was never provided by this place. Just the opposite very, very disappointing to say the least.False advertisement and a big rip off.

Yelp
We had a great experience camping here this week. You don't need an RV to stay here, plenty of accommodation styles. Great location to host a family gathering due to its proximity to the freeway and plenty of local activities. The resort itself is immaculately taken care of by Grace and her staff. Restrooms and showers are alway clean and in working operation. Don't miss out on this gem! Happy Trails!!

Yelp
This RV park is the perfect campground for those who want to camp but also still appreciate the "hotel perks." We came here back in October in our tent trailer. The pool and spa were clean and in good condition. There are playgrounds for the kids and a cute gift shop. We had pizza one night from the restaurant on site and OMG, it was delicious. Loved watching the wood fire grill. They also play kids movies in the evening in courtyard as well. There are plenty of cute shops and restaurants nearby if you need a place to eat or pick up some groceries. We also hit the Nojoqui Falls Park down the street and went into Solvang one evening as well. The showers were gorgeous with pretty subway tile. Nice touch!! This was a bit of a drive with a trailer but I'd do it all again!! Thank you FF!!

Yelp
Unfortunately this is not a review I anticipated when coming across this beautiful resort on social media, Yelp, and hotels.com. However, I booked a 2 night stay in their "Jute" yesterday for this upcoming weekend. All across the board on their website the property is advertised as "pet friendly" and the only specifications regarding pets in the Jute description is that pets are not allowed "inside" the tent. Great so who would ever think that a resort that is pet friendly wouldn't let a dog owner bring their dog in their kennel and sleep in a secure kennel outside of the jute right next to them? If that was the case this should be specified in the FAQ section or in the description of the jute because many pet owners like to camp with their furry friend. I booked this reservation through a 3rd party website and right after booking I called this business to ask my questions it was 11 am and I got called back at 6 pm. The representative named "Erica" told me that unfortunately someone else at the resort that same day asked the same question and the manager said no to dogs outside of the tent too. Wow! So this company has been put on NOTICE that their website is misleading and omitting crucial information that visitors with dogs should know about before booking and yet all this representative told me was that my option was to either get a dog sitter or book their other accommodations at $250-370 per night (prices that greatly exceeded my original booking). This company did not even show one ounce of customer service or appreciation by providing alternative options to work with my family and I. Today alone I've called 4 times asked to speak to someone to see if the resort could work with me (and emailed) and have gotten no response. But surely I was informed that I'll be getting charged $160+ for a non refundable deposit. I'd like to add that there was no way I could have confirmed this information PRIOR to booking the reservation as this property DOES NOT ANSWER or respond to emails. Memorial Day plans ruined. Thank you!!!

Yelp
Booked a one night stay last July with my family. Its basically an RV park with lots of mini cottages, cabins, safari & tiki tents, and airstreams that you can rent. Amenities included stuff like a kiddie playground, pool, community center, sports areas etc. It was fairly easy to book and check in/out as well as navigate around the community. Staff were nice. Lots of young kids and families all over. We booked a cottage with a loft. There was one bedroom downstairs and a loft for 2 upstairs. The cottage came with a parking spot right outside so it was perfect and convenient. Bedding and sheets seemed clean. Every room had a flat screen TV so nobody had to share. There were cooking utensils that we could use--similar to an airBNB. My only issues were: the cleanliness should be better. When we arrived, we found a water puddle on the chair and floor directly under the AC which was brewing bugs/mosquitos. We informed them and someone was sent quickly to fix the leak which was great. He even brought extra towels for us to mop things up. We then noticed that there were tons of dead bugs on all the windowsills, corners of the rooms and random cobwebs scattered around. There were also flies and mosquitos flying around that we had to get rid of. It made me question how much they truly cleaned the place after each guest. For someone whos kinda picky about bugs, this grossed me out. Obviously I booked a cottage and not a tent, so I expected a little more from them. Overall though, the place is a decent and convenient stay if you're passing through Solvang and heading towards Hearst Castle or wherever.

Yelp
Tents are next to the freeway, it's incredibly loud at night and we payed 170 per night plus they have a two nights minimum. We couldn't even spend the second night there cause the first one was horrible and we hardly slept. I would not recommend sleeping in their tents to anyone.

Yelp
Excellent rv resort with many sleeping options in themed cabins amongst the RVS or separate in a themed area. Checkin lanes are 3 wide. Excellent checkin service. Amenities galore: many bathrooms and showers, beautiful pool with top notch loungers, 5 day a week quick bites and lounge area with pizza oven. There's a dog park, nice lawns in between all RVS. Some spots have picnic tables. There's trees scattered throughout the property. Also a motel next door that has a gym and lounge with food that you can directly access. Really impressed with the best bathrooms I've ever seen: straight off a home upgraded show and clean as a whistle. Laundry room with 6 washers and 4 dryers plus 2 hand wash sinks. There are end rv spots that have extra lawn and a little fence so if you have kids or pets, this might be worth the cost for you. This is really a huge resort I've only seen in major cities like Las Vegas. We think you'll be pleasantly surprised with your stay. We were!

Yelp
Maybe I'm just not a camper. My wife rented what they call the canned ham station. There are four old pull trailers in this area. A nice fire pit. Nice patio with a bbq grill and TV. they have a mimi freezer and mini fridge that were both probably unplugged before we got there as they were not cold at all. And In 100 degree heat never really for cool. Two bathrooms with two showers were good for us. The canned hams are really run down. They installed mini split air conditioners in them which is nice. However all trailers seemed to not have been good in some time. They were full of spider webs. Come on? Someone could have dusted them all. The windows don't really work, either can't open them at all or can't close them all the way. For about $600 a night. Come on. You can invest a little and fix these minor things. We made the best of it. They have two pools and no h were beyond over crowded. There's a soccer field which is full if pot holes you can turn your ankles on. Other than that, there is not much to do here. And visiting the old Danish town of Solvang? Meh. It seemed most people with RV's were stuck inside their RV's all day in the AC cause of the heat. They came out in the evening to cook and hang out. Again, maybe I'm not a camping person. But if I'm gonna be stuck indoors in AC all day, and BBQ in the evening, hmmm I can do at home. I don't get it. Would I go here again? For the price? Nah... you can find me at the beach house in Rosarito. For a third of the price for the same amount of nights. And lots much more to do. And did I say beach front?

Yelp
This was probably the worst get-away experiences I've ever had. To set the scene, our family had reserved Safari tent #8 & #9, and two RV spots right next to Safari tents for a birthday celebration. My family (#9 tent) arrived Friday evening, passed office hours, around 8:30-9pm. Everyone else was arriving Saturday. We get to our tent, unload our car, check the beds for bed bugs, and what do we find...not bed bugs...but blood and rat feces all over the pillows, mattresses, and sheets. I will never un-see what I saw. I was enraged, especially paying over $700 for a disgusting tent. Management of the resort after office hours is sparse to none. If there are any issues they ask that you call Sideways Inn. Sideways Inn then text their "IVY" system for security and maintenance. There is only ONE person on the premise after hours. That is Manuel Rosales, who also is an angel on earth! Manuel came to the rescue, took pictures, and arranged for an upgrade to a cottage. Manuel calmed my nerves, he made sure we were taken care of. The next morning, we were hearing a complaint from our neighbor, who had a reservation mix up, when Justin from FF came by to see if we were ok. He made a comment, that "Manuel is just the maintenance guy". That also enraged me. Because Manuel was the ONLY person there, he was MORE than a maintenance guy. He was the housekeeping, security, maintenance, customer service guy all into one. This shows how they treat their employees. If it wasn't for Manuel the whole weekend would have been a disaster. I also got a call from Todd, who stated he was the most highest form of management on site. He said since the tents were against a field, there is no control of rodents and it's to be expected. I told him if it's an issue they shouldn't put tents in that location. He stated there were no complaints from any other tents, and ours must have a hole somewhere. I just don't buy it. If there is an issue with ours, I'm sure there are issues with them all. So now I've seen the tents and the cottage. The cottage goes for $300 a night more than the safari tent. It is not worth it. You can get a better house on Airbnb for the same amount, if not less. The kitchenette is small, no counter space. Small bathroom, no tub for small kids. The loft is not a loft. It is a crawl space. My six-year-old could not stand up. The stairs to the loft are dangerous. Better than the tent, yes. But not worth $300 more. The tent...without the rat experience, small but cute. Not a ton of space. Not worth $350 a night. I could have stayed in a decent hotel for the same amount. We won't be choosing Flying Flags for any get away anytime soon. Instagram posts are deceiving. Go with eyes wide open.

Yelp
TICKS everywhere!! We had to leave a day early it was so bad and they wouldn't refund us for the last night we didn't stay. We stayed in one of the brewhaus cottages and I found 2 ticks inside. 1 in the loft where my son and I were sleeping. It was crawling on the ceiling above our heads when we woke up in the morning. I've been checking my son for bites everyday since we left. There was another one in the bathroom by the toilet, pictured below. When my son and I were outside the cabin a tick jumped onto his sweatshirt from the near by bushes. This thing jumped far! Thank god I saw it on my son's white sweatshirt. This is a serious safety issue and I hope they do something to address the tick infestation.

Yelp
We stayed in a Surf Cabin for two nights. Communication prior to and during our stay was the fastest I have ever experienced. We used email prior to our stay and used their text messaging while there. Didn't have a wine opener, brought to us in under 5 min. Needed more towels, brought to us in 2 min. Every question answered almost immediately! The cabin itself was super clean! The outside was well manicured. Once inside we were not able to hear all of the noise outside which made sleeping easy. The amenities and grounds were great, just wish they would have told us when booking months ago that the splash pad and pool were closing for maintenance. I would highly recommend this place for families!

TheWordisOut V.

Yelp
Beware, they will overcharge you. They have hidden costs that they do not share while booking online. Once you get there, they hit you with a fee charge for every night. Also, if you happen to be there during an event, they will not honor any discounts that you had previously. Too little too late, they say you're stuck.
google avatar

Joe G.

Yelp
Great family fun. Very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in the cottages which got us access to a private pool; nice addition, but the main pool with the splash pad was where the kids wanted to be. The main pool is conveniently located in the center of the compound. At the entrance you will find a general store and Cafe serving fast to-go orders including pizza and sandwiches. Close to Solvang wineries. Bus stop to wine tasting near by. Lots to do, including bike riding, swimming, sports courts and fields, pool tables, etc.

Yelp
We spent a few nights here at Flying Flags RV Resort and were very impressed. They have drive up check-in which was super convenient. Someone meets you at your RV window and completely checks you in and guides you to your spot without even having to leave your vehicle. The facilities are super clean and the sites are all level, wide, and nicely manicured. Their "Fireside Lounge" is a really nice spot to hang out and enjoy a cocktail or a pizza from their brick oven pizza cooker. They have entertainment on the weekends which was fun too. The campground has a walkway at the back that leads to the Sideways Inn & Lounge (made famous from the movie Sideways) which made it nice to go spend an evening over there. Not having to worry about driving was a definite plus. The pool was well kept with lounge chairs and although we didn't go in looked inviting. They also have a ton of cabins & yurts for rent if you had friends without an RV wanting to join. A bocce ball court, basketball court, large field for soccer or games, and many areas for kids to safely ride bikes was a nice touch too. Solvang is incredible! The food and ambience there makes it feel like your in a Danish town. Really fun to walk around the shops and spend time with family. Tons of wineries and breweries to go tasting at made this trip even more exceptional. Flying Flags RV Resort is the place to explore the area from. Yelp
Customer service is horrible especially from Ben. I reserved a JUPE and was told it had electricity. Upon arrival no electricity and was given a portable box battery with one plug. After 4 hours of wasted time they finally switched me to a JUPE with electricity. I was told I was going to get comped but I wasn't. HORRIBLE

Yelp
The best camping trip experience EVER. Live music, lots of options of places to stay, restaurant, shop...

Yelp
Disappointed. $205 to sleep in a tiny space with neighbors so close is a RIP OFF!!!! Mobile Reservation is TERRIBLE!!! Only way to book on a phone was through the interactive map. When we backed out of the map to attempt to book via the regular booking pathway, it booked twice. We were charged an extra fee, "the lock site fee" so you can choose a specific site. The ONLY sites available were 3 next to each other. So did we knowingly choose to pay to reserve 1 of 3 in a row? No. The representative, Heather, who attempted to help communicate with Todd said "we get so many complaints about our reservation system from guests who book on a phone; we know we need to fix it." So then credit the fee! Todd the Manager refused to credit the fee even though we specified we didn't care which of the spots when they texted us asking. Doug focused on me saying thank you for the text. They took thank you to mean I accepted the charge. Sometimes a small courtesy when you acknowledge the troubles with your system go a long way.

Tricia G.

Yelp
Great place! The park is clean with many amenities. The front desk is great. The restaurant has some of the best pizza I have ever had in my life. Great communal fire pit.
google avatar

Marcus K.

Yelp
Much more than a campground. More like a destination resort for campers. Sure, you have tons of wineries to visit including several within walking distance, and you have Solvang down the road. At the camp you have tons of RV sites, cabins, and tents for rent. I did not see any sites though that allow you to pop your own tent. Also, many sites have trees though the premium paved sites don't. The best sites imho are the xl. Pools and hot tubs. Pizza restaurant and lounge. Live music on weekends. Playground and 1/2 soccer field. In other words, tons to do without leaving the campground. If you want peace and quiet, this definitely aint it though they do appear to enforce quiet hours after 10 pm.

Yelp
Update and correction: we opened the door for one family.. the rest of the group expected us to keep opening the door for them as we were right by the door. We asked if they had a key, each one pointed to the rest of the group and said "they have it." Then proceeded to talk amongst themselves complaining that WE were complaining about them being in that pool! We paid extra to be here. Why couldn't they? Come to find out, the side door was unlocked. So anyone can come in! So much for paying more to stay in here! Facility did nothing but send a maintenance guy! ... to clean up!WHAT?!

Robert A.

Yelp
Awesome place to go. We go there 4-5 a year. Ranch cottage is the way to go! It has its own private pool and jacuzzi for the 19 cottages that are in that area with a gate and code to enter.

Yelp
We booked an airstream for 4 days and had a wonderful time. Drive-up check-in was quick and easy. Although, only upon check-in was when additional charges for dogs were disclosed. I would've appreciated transparency with the costs beforehand as dogs were noted upon reserving. We were assigned to the "Mod Squad" airstream, definitely vintage and could use updating- some lights didn't work, backsplash peeling, and could've had a more thorough cleaning. However, the a/c was amazing with the heatwave outside and kept us cool during our whole stay. The bed also looked small but surprisingly we were able to sleep comfortably. The mini fridge was not as effective and noticed melted ice-cream in the freezer box. Our friend stayed next door in the "Silver Fox" airstream, which was overall nicer, had a more functional layout, but had a smaller outdoor area. The lot the Mod Squad sits on is also surprisingly private and has a roomy fire-pit area. We had 6 families stay in the resort with us and were able to accommodate most of us in the fire pit area to enjoy dinner and make s'mores. The yard could use more gravel as the landscape fabric was exposed in some areas and lifting potentially causing people to trip and fall. The resort itself looks vast in the map but actually feels much smaller and is easily walkable. However, there are many amenities offered and gives options for activities. During our stay there was wine and beer tasting, live music, and a bbq night offered. Overall, Flying Flags is a great option for a family friendly vacation that'll make you feel like you're in a resort and not an RV park. Accommodations can be pricey depending on the type but affordable options are available all budgets.

Yelp
We stayed in cabin with a bedroom and a loft. Very cute and had everything. The cabin had a bbq, a porch, and came with all the hotel amenities. The resort had RV parking with a pool, hot tub and a bar in walking distance. We will definitely be back. Great valentine weekend getaway.

Yelp
A lot of good things to say about this place but there are also bad. The sites aren't kept up well. There were old rags at the site by the drain. I found sparerib bones on the lawn. The dirt next to the site is filled with weeds. If you look at their video on the website it looks like you are going to a pristine place. You see a ton of employees on golf carts but no one doing site maintenance. 3 or 4 employees work the desk but it's impossible to get someone on the phone. Complained about loud music to an employee walking around. Nothing done. Daughter rented a cabin but didn't get cabin promised. Tried to call but they couldn't do anything and said manager would call. Never did. Store is good. Pools are nice. The staff is generally friendly. There was a motor home with caution tape all around it. Crime scene type stuff but none of the employees would say what it was. Felt like I was in a scene of "Breaking Bad."

Yelp
This place was not for us but the customer service was very good! Our spot was a joke and the late night noise was miserable/unbearable for us. The space outside our trailer was MAYBE 3 feet wide? (see pic) The 3 encounters we had with staff were all really good 1- curbside check in was great! Guy who helped us was very chatty & efficient. More RV parks should offer this service, real customer pleaser. 2- having to call security at midnight due to all the noise & partying surrounding us. I'm the last person to complain about people having a good time but as an early riser...2 hours after 'quite hour' seemed fair enough. It seems like if they had security patrols this stuff should be monitored better. The guy who answered the phone was nice & understanding and sent patrol over almost immediately. 3- needing to check out a day early & asking for refund for unused night. Both staff in office were sweet & understanding and offered to move us instead of us leaving early. With the hassle of uprooting to move and possibly deal with another night of loud parties we decided to cut the trip early. If noise and space aren't issues for you- check this place out.

Yelp
Customer service when you check in is horrible. We stayed here. Many times the worst service we've ever had. Waited 2 1/2 hours to check in. They kept saying our room wasn't clean, but it was. We saw the cleaning ladies clean it. They Said the manager has to check it before we check in. very disappointed.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed in one of their Brewhaus Cottages with a loft and firepit. The cottage was very nice and clean. We loved lighting a fire in the pit, cooking up smores. The two pools at the resorts were very nice and clean. You can use the gym at The Sideways Inn, which by far has to be the best hotel gym ever. It was a very nice glamping experience and we will come back next year.

Yelp
A first class campground. Full hookup and an awesome location. On site restaurants and two different pools. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Why is one of best camping facilities in California. Below I have listed the pros and the cons of this amazing place! What's great, I'm happy you asked. The entire park is super clean. The pools are clean, the dog park is clean, the campsites are clean, the restrooms are clean and the showers are super clean. My fire pit was ash free, the BBQ's are super clean, yes the campsites have super nice fire pits and BBQs They have something for everyone, check this out. You can rent a tent for the weekend, you can rent an RV site that you pull your 40 foot trailer through and still have room for your truck, they have regular vacuum campsites and they have super nice concrete padded sites with built-in Outdoor sinks and kitchens. They have a section with nothing but old vintage RVs that you can rent and stay in like a hotel room and they have beautiful cottages we're not only you can stay for the weekend but you can rent several cottages at a time and have a wedding or a birthday party or some other type of large gathering. They have wine tasting and beer tasting daily. They make pizzas outside in a wood fire pizza pit, they have days where the barbecue and you can buy a root beer float on a hot summer day. Again this place has a little bit of everything and something for everyone so I highly recommend it. The location of this particular site is connected to the sideways hotel where they filmed the movie sideways so everything is themed around wine tasting and drinking. So now let's talk about some of the negatives because there are some negatives that need to be addressed. For the most part the staff is really friendly, I will tell you that a couple of the girls inside at the welcoming center or a little snooty or snotty but for the most part everyone was nice. The staff that you find around the park that cleans the different campsites and the ones that take care of the restrooms and the showers are amazing. When we pulled up it was super hot and they had a lot of the staff outside under a tarp greeting us and I didn't care for this. These people had sweat running down their faces while they greeted us and I actually believe that because they were so hot and sweaty that it actually took away from the welcoming process that we received the last time we were here when we went inside. I felt so bad for the crew working the whole week desk that I brought back frozen Gatorade's for all of them because it was so hot. I guess my complaint with the situation is in regards to the management and the fact that they force their employees to work out in the sun, no other campsite I've ever been to has a welcoming committee kind of like this one where the staff had to suffer with the heat. The other negative thing about this particular location is that it's very expensive, however with that being said they were still at like 90% capacity when we were visiting. The only other thing I found to be something that I would call negative is that there are a lot of families and there are a lot of kids. Now I'm nit talking kids that are out of control, rude and vulgar like when you visit Campland On The Bay In San Diego But there's a lot of kids and we heard kids playing and having fun until a little after quiet hours every night. For us that didn't really bother us but another couple that was near us did not like it at all. All in all I think this is an amazing facility and I will be back. I highly recommend that if you want to visit a very fun park that has again a little bit of everything and I hope I mentioned everything because from the bark park, to the pools, to the shuffleboard, to the bocce ball, to the ping-pong tables to the wine tasting in the beer tasting there is something for everyone.

Yelp
We love Flying Flags as our go-to for camping...or should we call it glamping! They have great pull through spots for larger campers (we have a 33 foot toy hauler). They have pools and jacuzzis as well as a really cool water play area for the kids. They have cabanas and wine! If you don't have a camper, no worries, they have plenty of other options. You can stay in a really cool tents by the pool, cottages of a variety of sizes, small airstreams, and even really rough it with tent camping. They have fire pits and BBQs for the deluxe spots. The bathrooms/showers are clean and have great water pressure. They are so friendly there and are responsive to your needs. We had a friend who had a problem with the cable and they came right out to help. COVID-19: they are practicing social distancing by having check-in outside and they were pretty efficient when we were there. Unfortunately, all their wine stuff and store was closed but the pool was open. It was easy for us to social distance from others.

Yelp
Flying Flags has been a family favorite for years. The cost is a bit pricey on Holiday weekends, but we know it goes to keeping the grounds clean & up to date. For the last 4 memorial weekend holidays, us and 6-7 other families have booked the same spots and are always able to rebook for the following year that same weekend. Much to our surprise, all of our spots were already booked b/c they randomly changed their reservation window to 18 months out. Not one email, phone call or notice was sent out to any of the loyal customers about this switch. Most of our group drives 4+ hours (some even out of state) to stay here. When my husband tried speaking with a manager he showed zero care in the matter and blamed it on the "thousands of calls they get a day." Us and our family friends are now taking our business elsewhere. Hope you do better in the future in communicating with your customers.

Yelp
When this place opened up it was great and we loved it. As the years have gone by, the cottages have been neglected and are worn and torn. The service is horrible and the prices are outrageous. We were extremely disappointed this year. Our room smelled like cigarette smoke, the furniture was torn and dirty. The patio furniture was stained and disgusting. When I asked to be moved they told me there were no other cottages available, even though most of the people there had checked out. Too bad they have let such a great place go to shit .

Yelp
Stayed the night in one of their cabins, very clean, comfortable, and well appointed. They are friendly and would definitely go back again.

Yelp
Disgusting. I am beyond disappointed that I spent money to stay here. The "superior airstream" is FAR from superior with all the deferred maintenance and extreme lack of cleanliness. Sadly they have a monopoly on this market so they will continue to keep rolling - but if your are thinking about a trip here - I would highly recommend voting with your dollars and staying somewhere else. Ga-ga-ga-GROSS.

Yelp
We have been camping for 10 And we have been all over California all Different RV parks .. we had put off this trip ( flying flags ) for a while .. do to the cost of it ... it was at the high end of our price range and 6-7 hours away for us .. also we wanted to stay 4-5 nights .. but after all this time we bit the bullet and did the trip we planned a whole year in advance .. just to be very disappointed when we arrived .. our spots were VERY poorly maintained grass was dead many pot holes .. bushes were very over grown and hard to pull out slide out .. seemed the place had been neglected ... for how expensive I really thought it would be better maintained and nicer spots .. the customer service was great and the music and wine tasting also .. but they can improve on the maintenance of the grounds

Yelp
I stayed In the tents and didn't realize how cold it gets at night even in the middle of summer . So definitely bring really warm pjs . Also we asked for towels and the lady In the front desk was nice and said they would be sent over . A few hours latter we get an email saying our area isn't allow to get towels . For $200 a night I think that's the least they can offer . Bottom line I would not suggest this place if you are in town to see Solvang . If any of the hotels or Inns in the area are available take those instead. This place was so expensive for what we got

Yelp
We had a great time here. First time, and we'd probably return but stay in one of the cabins or airstreams. You'll notice one side of the campground is $$$, the other side is $. Pros: excellent service by staff, love how they have a mini sports field, soccer balls, bocce balls, and ping pong equipment all available, movie rentals, shared bathrooms are all pretty modern and clean. I like how kids have their independence here to bike around freely without their parents. Overall great place if you have kids and/or a dog. Cons: safari tent / canvas just needs to be cleaned more often. Comment posted earlier by someone else said there's a bunch of Trump supporters here. I'm not a Trump supporter and we don't know if that's necessarily true about the people who stayed here. Majority of the people were white but then again, most people who rent or own RVs are white. Stop polarizing everything, life is short and let's enjoy it.

Yelp
So we heard from several people how amazing this place was. I am not thr camping type, and I can barely say I'm the "glamping" type. But at my wife's request, we finally booked a getaway here. We booked one of the wine cottages with a loft because I don't like to sleep "under the stars" without a roof. But they offer a ton of options for accommodations, including cabins, cottages, tents, trailers/airstreams, pull thrus with hookups, etc. There is something for everyone, depending on your personal preference for accommodations. Plus they are pet friendly so we were able to bring our dog. They have a dog park and there are plenty of furry friends there to play with. Let me start by saying this place is nothing short of amazing. The staff is super friendly and helpful and they sincerely want to make your stay memorable. In addition, all of the other people staying there are nice. No, seriously, nice. I was shocked. Even though it seemed like most of the patrons were visiting from Southern California, they were kind people. I certainly didn't expect that being that I grew up in SoCal, near LA. There are so many different family friendly activites on campus, like basketball, bocce ball, firepits for smores, swimming pool, open grass fields, soccer, playgrounds, BBQs, etc. But there are also so many things to do nearby: wine tasting, horseback riding, Ostrichland USA, Solvang, Avila Beach, museums. We went once but when we go back we could do so many other things. The kids had a blast being normal kids playing and making friends. They didn't need electronics to entertain themselves, which was so amazing. The cottages were clean, nice. There were stores nearby to stock up on food. Everything you could want is there. We have already tried to book a return trip this year but they fill up fast so we haven't been able to. We'll keep trying to make it work because we all had a blast and spent lots of family time together. I definitely recommend you checking it out!

Yelp
Cost/Benefit Analysis: Nearly appropriate cost for benefit provided. The staff was knowledgeable competent and helpful - - we were received with hospitality. Facility was clean and reasonably maintained. Full hook ups included cable. The threads of the sewage drains were clean and usable. Water pressure was more than adequate. Numerous "Glamping" options are available. Safari tents are available. Numerous on-site dining options are available - - but have mutually exclusive hours of operation. Two pools and one Jacuzzi are beautiful - - and probably in need of additional maintenance. RV sites are of numerous and varying sizes. Each site needs to be designated for specific types of recreational vehicles. In example; "Class A" motorhomes, with five pop-outs on each side, should not be allowed to occupy all of the parkways around their vehicle--because two other parties on each side of them also need to use that space. Inappropriate overcrowding has the potential to greatly impede the quality of one's stay. I do, however, recommend this establishment.

Yelp
Stayed one night deluxe pull through , nearby restroom men and women had no hot water for showers and basin faucets. Very nice Rv park, clean but you got to to have basic hot water at bathrooms

Yelp
Nice park if you don't mind - unsupervised kids running and biking everywhere including through sites, - loud midweek late-night parties, - blasting music at all hours, - provocative political flags and signs, and - dogs off leash. This park has lost control. Seems like new RVers can't be bothered with following rules and the park can't be bothered with enforcing them. Let's not mention the steep price for all this fun. Very expensive park. Yes I did let management know. No, nothing was done. We left early and won't be back.

Yelp
What can I say? This was our first time trailer camping and our first time camping at an rv resort. We had the greatest time. So much to do there and such a clean and peaceful spot. So much to do in the area as well. It's a hub for Solvang, wine Country, and even Pismo. Bikes rides every day, camp fires every night, and awesome food. I would highly recommend

Yelp
I am new to the RV experience. In fact, this was my first RV vacation. I was headed home from my trip to San Francisco and decided to stop in Solvang on the way. I Googled RV Parks and Flying Flags showed up. Mia checked me in when I arrived, although wearing a mask, I could tell that she was smiling. She was super friendly, very helpful, and seemed very glad to be there. The entire staff was incredible. When I arrived at my spot, I received a follow up text from Mia, making sure that everything was OK with my space. She also let me know about live music and food that was happening that night. She was also able to answer a couple of questions I had via text. I found this to be super helpful, and, a nice touch. The campground is beautiful, the people staying around me were friendly and it was just a great vibe all around. When I checked out, Mia was there again, and she seemed genuinely happy for me, that I had such a great stay. The staff here were all great, and Mia was a gem! The next time I'm headed that direction, I will be back!

Yelp
We booked a premium space for our RV and boy are we glad!!! Love the yard space and close proximity to all the activities, but still quiet. We stayed in space 56 for reference. We had a BBQ, fire pit, and patio with picnic table. The BBQ got a good workout! We enjoyed live music at the fireside grill and lots of swimming, shooting pool, bocce ball. We booked a massage at Body Works which is a short walk/drive from the resort. Their store was stalked with lots of goodies and they have a cute pizza bar and even cocktails. We plan to come back again!!
