Focus Motel & Executive Suites

Keep in mind that this is a mixed review. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Kelvin was great and laundry facilities really good. No AC is an issue though when it’s warm. Very walkable to most things. Noisy as on a busy street but mostly quiet at night. Very small bathrooms but towel rack warned was a nice touch

Loved our quick stay. Parking was perfect and the staff at reception were just so lovely. Took the time to talk to us and have a nice chat plus recommended a few things for us to do as tourists.

VERY GOOD, Great location, 10 minutes walk to cbd, big space, very clean and newish. Good parking, service was great. The only downside was the mattress. It was soft, we found it thin and could feel the springs. As sleep is so important, I have dropped 2☆

We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite, so my family can stay together. The rooms were clean and spacious. The location was great, you can walk to the city center easily.

Fantastic little motel. Kelvin and his wife do a great job of making you feel at home. There is off-street parking with a gate that closes at 8pm and opens at 5am. After hours access is provided via a FOB. Our room was spotless, everything worked fine. The shower is sooooo nice. I highly recommend staying there when visiting Christchurch.

Very good location, free and secure parking, very friendly and helpful receptionists, but our standard/studio room was very basic. There was a distinct lack of lightning in the lounge, the kitchette light didn’t work, the fan in the bathroom didn’t seem to work, and the kitchenette was very limited - adequate but basic e.g. no hob. So functional and ‘doable’ for an overnight stay but not ideal for longer stays. In need of some TLC….

Fantastic place to stay! We arrived here to extremely friendly hosts who went the extra mile to accommodate us after we'd arrived one day early. Motel was in an excellent location, close to the city centre and only a short stroll to the Casino, we were attending a gig at the Town Hall and this was the perfect place for us. The room was spacious and clean, bed super comfortable and the hosts extremely friendly. Can't recommend highly enough, will definitely be back only next time I'll book for the correct day!

Our expectations were not met with this accommodation. The great reviews and comments were nothing like what we experienced. Our hopes for a lovely Executive Suite with all mod cons and a lovely room to stay in just didn’t happen. We actually thought we had the wrong place. The room was a basic motel room not an Executive Suite. The room was not up to a clean standard and the dishes & cutlery had to be washed before use. The TV was a 32”, the couch was old red leather had no support so we ended up watching TV sitting on plastic dining room chairs. All in all, a very disappointing stay. Certainly not worth $229 plus GST per night. We booked and paid for three nights but left after two. The staff were friendly and helpful.
