Google
I gave a rating of 4 because despite the not great service the food was delicious! The line was out the door so I can understand being busy but we pretty much had to flag down our waiter any time we needed something! The food was great however if you are looking for something rich and full of flavour! As well, the atmosphere was full of life and very exciting! They did a beautiful job with the decorations!

Google
Five stars without hesitation. I feel bad for the people that do not feel this way. We picked it because we wanted somewhere casual and fun and this place delivered in every respect. The food was fantastic, fun, locally sourced and delicious. Excellent and innovative without being pretentious. The beer selection was also very good. There was live music which normally is a negative for me but the volume was not too loud and it was really tastefully done and fit right in. I ordered a special of the day which was salmon with a fennel salad and enjoyed it immensely. It was interesting and I enjoyed it even though it was not perfectly balanced. My friend got the fishcakes and loved them. I would come here any time I was in Rockland.

Google
Amazing food ,but that's not all the environment is spectacular. It's all about camaraderie, fun entertainment. And leaving your signature stamp !

Google
I absolutely love this place. Excellent food — the BEST fish tacos I’ve ever had — and excellent drinks options highlighted by a killer beer menu. To top it all off, each time I’ve visited I’ve had exceptionally gracious and genuinely friendly waitstaff. All of these things make Fog one my favorite dining spots in Maine. If you’re in Rockland, make it a point to go here. You won’t be disappointed, and if you’re fortunate, you’re visit will coincide with one of their highly entertaining Open Mic nights. Let’s just say that there are some overly eclectic people scattered around Rockland, and they’re not shy about showcasing their, uh ... talent, whenever possible.

Google
We got four plates. They we're all tasty and the service was friendly. Oysters were great too.

Google
The patio is beautiful and the food was amazing. Service also rocked. They had healthy, fresh food with lots of options. I had a vegan noodle bowl and my partner had the salmon. We both were full and loved our meals. We also got nice beers; they had a good local selection. We also got ice cream out back afterward at Lulus.

Google
Fog Bar + Cafe is, first of all, an excellent bar. The bar features a comprehensive list of well crafted classic Cocktails but also keeps up with current trends. They also feature excellent wines. The cafe also offers great food to compliment your beverage of choice. You can easily make a meal of appetizers, but don't stop there. It's all good. I had been here a few times for dessert (excellent ) and drinks before I ever explored the menu. I wish I had sooner. The food is great. To top it off, the atmosphere is whimsical and imaginative. The bar often plays host to live music and other performances. Just ask a server about the schedule. I highly recommend this spot!

Google
Limited but sufficient beer selection. The menu was interesting and the food tasty. The bar has a nice ambience and is conducive for conversation. All in all it makes for a good place to drink, dine and chat. The duck wings were delicious. The pork belly was just right, not too fatty and goes well with the plum sauce.

Yelp
Up to Rockland for NYE and we decided to try this cafe over the weekend. The deviled eggs were perfect and my BF loved the escargot (I won't touch them)but he raves about them and he is a chef I ordered the French Onion Soup and noticed it said entree Sure enough the bowl is as your head and it was a lot of soup. Flavor was spot on and it was very filling like an entree My BF ordered the Pad Thai Noodle bowl with chicken. He is a bIg critic of Pad Thai and said this was one of the top ones he has eaten. Just perfect and a little kick to it Everything here is cooked to order The atmosphere was very casual. They had a small band playing which was nice. They have a large bar and a very large variety of beer and wine and mixed drinks. We will definitely be back if we are ever on the Rockland ME area again

Yelp
My friends and I ordered a few late night drinks on the out-back-patio which feels a little bit like it's not part of the restaurant. Service was ok but not great. I ordered an expensive $10 whaleback cider that was awful but my friends like their drinks more. We also shared a house made pickle plate which was mixed (the pickle grapes are intense). We ordered the sticky sesame duck wings and the grits and scallops special. Both of these were very tasty but definitely not enough food for the high prices. I think our total came to around $70-$80. I would give this place another chance (and a 3.5 star if I could) but probably not recommend take-out (or think more about which food travels best) given the prices and quality.

Yelp
They changed the menu from the last time we were here. They used to have a few really tasty vegan options. Only a few on a big menu, but plenty to keep us non-meat eaters happy. I was excited to return to Fog. But... The menu is smaller now, all meat and fish and cheese, with ONE vegan dinner option, a noodle bowl. They were completely out of it, they said. So: zero options. Why not add a vegetarian dish that could also be made vegan? Alongside all the ribs, salmon, etc? We sat down, took our coats off. We got back up, put our coats on again. Back into the December drizzle. Unless the menu options are expanded again, there is no reason for me to return. Which is too bad, because Fog has a great, friendly atmosphere.

Laura B.

Yelp
Nice selection of beer. Great mixed drink special. Appetizers were plentiful and very good. Entrees were okay. Two out of the four of us were pleased with our meals. Waitress and bartender were excellent. Perfect place for Happy Hour drinks and appetizers. Don't think we would return for dinner.

Yelp
We've lived here for 2 years and have walked past the Fog many times. It was Sunday at 8:30 at night, kitchens were already closed all over town, as such, our expectations were low. The dependable and "crisp-turning-balmy" Southwest breeze in out faces, we went walking up the street, past places with the bar open, but grills cold. We followed our nose to the Fog... somebody was cooking something and it smelled great. Why have never been to the Fog? We were immediately surprised by a casual upbeat atmosphere thats just a little bit Artsy. There were plenty of people inside on. Sunday at 830. Our server, Sadie was energetic, and a pleasure. Keep her. This burger is simply outstanding. Both cooked exactly, not "close" but exactly as asked. Ketchup, if you use it.... ask for it on the side the burger needs nothing. With the burger at Louie's Lunch New Haven as a benchmark for you fellow aficionados, this is easily in the same class. Perhaps even a rival to the burger at Piper's Kilt in Eastchester New York. You feeling me? Yep, that good. We will be back to check the rest of the menu. But not ordering the burger, may prove near impossible. Nice going, Fog. Jason

Yelp
Great experience here! $5 margaritas on Thursdays and $3 tacos. Bartender us super attentive. Margaritas are great- not too sweet and defiantly not from a mix. Tried the avocado taco and the oyster taco. Both were great and topped with all the fixings. Fiancé and I also shared the queso which was sooo good and nicely spiced. Had a great time in winter, can only imagine what Summer is like here

Jody M.

Yelp
Great Night out usually a stop in for a drink but recently realized they had a pretty tasty sounding menu so made it a point to eat therE last night "they Did not disappoint" loved it !! Drinks aRe always equally as good . Now will be a new regular for dinner with food like thaT

Victor A.

Yelp
My cousin & I had been wandering on museum tours & getting lost in shops in town all day & were looking for a cozy spot for happy hour ---- we stumbled onto Fog café bar that looked to have what we were looking for. Looked laid back & not stuffy. We sat at the bar & our bartender Michaela greeted us with a friendly smile---she admitted to us that she was new at bartending and was in training. I was EZ because I just ordered an Octoberfest, but my cuz ordered a fancier drink that she got help with! Michaela informed us they were out of duck for their famous duck nachos but convinced us to get some mushroom popcorn---it was great --- made us thirsty for another round ---- our wives met us up later for dinner -- everyone really enjoyed what they had and our waitress Libby took great care of us !

Vin D.

Yelp
Gets a little loud when live music is playing, but both the food and the staff are good. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in Rockland.

Shelbi A.

Yelp
Food was room temperature and mediocre and for the prices, the standard should be much higher. Menu and meal had potential but service was slow and certain elements in the dishes didn't work and seemed to be put in more for wow factor than to make a cohesive dish.

Vinny G.

Yelp
Originally stopped here for some apps after a concert at the Strand. We enjoyed it enough to come back for a full meal. Everything we've had here was fresh and flavorful. Some of our favorites were great local raw oysters .. large and briney, crab cakes with almost zero filler, and surprisingly tasty tofu tacos. Good selection of beer and drinks. Service was always friendly and efficient, and prices are fair. Well worth a stop.

Deborah M.

Yelp
Management is the worst. We had cold tacos and when we complained management argued with us and said they were hot when they left the kitchen. Apparently they went on tour before arriving at our table because all four of us ordered tacos and they were all cold. I think there are better choices of places to eat. I understand off nights in a restaurant but I don't understand management not attempting to make customers satisfied. We will Never go back or purchase anything in their retail store next door.

Bridget L.

Yelp
Horrible experience. Oysters were $3 each and covered in shells/grit. I had something floating in my $14 glass of wine and kindly asked the waiter for another, he took it, waited a few minutes and gave me back the exact same glass. Absolutely unacceptable. Will never go back!

Nathaniel T.

Yelp
We didn't eat here, just stopped by for an after dinner drink. Very lounge like feel with classic Jazz and candle light. They were playing clips from old movies on the back wall. Excellent craft beer selection and good cocktails. We will be back again soon! P.S. thank you for not including "rock" in your name.

Amit K.

Yelp
Great interesting food. We went on a Sunday evening and it was not that crowded. The bar service was quick. A good place for dinner in Rockport.

Juan G.

Yelp
Disaster! We wait 45 for appetizers and 1 hour for the main course . The food was mediocre all the way. The service was good ( poor guy was embarrassed to work there )

Ted B S.

Yelp
This place was terrible. I got totally ripped off when I ordered a $28 "lobster Alfredo" there was literally no lobster at all and the cream sauce was at the bottom of the plate and the pasta was dry as if it had been sitting in the window for hours. It was downright shameful considering that it's located in Rockland Maine. Pathetic. Don't waste your time or money!!!

Leif M.

Yelp
My friend and I sat by the window which was very nice. The Fog Bar's interior is really fun. You can tell they tried hard to make a bold impression. We came very early at happy hour. The service was prompt, helpful and attentive. Everything on the menu looked great. The happy hour snacks were a nice touch. I ordered the deviled eggs to start. They were very affordable for their size, well plated and very good. My main dish was the fish tacos. Again, I was surprised at the good value - three tacos as a posed to the standard two. They were very fresh; the fish was exquisitely cooked. My friend ordered the house burger and substituted the artisan french fries for kale. He was very impressed with the burger, especially how it was cooked just to his liking (he's picky). This was a very solid and laid back meal, yet at the same time something I will never forget. I will defiantly be coming back.

Katie M.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place, I really really did. I have a lot of history with this space. Second Read was my go to place when I was an angsty high school student; I would read and drink tea and think I was awesome. So I was super excited to discover that a funky restaurant/bar had taken over the spot I used to love. The look and feel of the place is rad. That's where they get 2 stars. Loved it, twinkle lights, projector playing old cartoons, fabulous. Love it. Takes forever to get waited on. We get waited on by two different people that both ask us for drink orders and are confused when we tell them someone already did that. We also order appetizers. Our food shows up BEFORE our drinks and apps, all of which takes quite a while. I'm dying of thirst half the time, and we barely see our waitress (either of them) to get a refill. The food was just okay. It was nothing to write home about. Which makes me sad, because I was really hoping this would be my new jam. I really wanted it to be good, and it just wasn't. I can't even remember what I ordered that's how unexciting it was. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't good, and for the price, well... it should at least be somewhat memorable. I have stopped here on occasion just for drinks, and while they are on the pricey side and still take a while to get, they are pretty good (go for the hot buttered rum), so that's why they get one more star. In conclusion, go get after movie drinks here, or before you get fast and loose at Myrtle or Time Out. But be prepared to pay, and be prepared to wait... a while.

Yelp
We've been here twice so far, during the past week, and will be back during the next two months that will be in town. The food and service has been great both times - i've enjoyed both of the sour beers, the scallops, Fish tacos, and especially a peach cake which I believe was one of their special desserts. The wait staff are friendly and conversational, happy to make suggestions about their favorites.

Jon G.

Yelp
Only went for happy hour. Drinks are $2 off. Happy hour is all day Monday (live music) and 4-6 Tuesday - Friday. Nice stop before dinner

Gabby R.

Yelp
Have ben to this place twice while visiting the area. FABULOUS. Great food and atmosphere. The truffle mac and cheese and the pickled veggie plate is to die for, and every person I've visited with has enjoyed their food as well. Wonderful, knowledgeable staff who seem to love their jobs and love chatting about the great state of Maine. Couldn't recommend more!

Bryan F.

Yelp
Fog Bar is modern, airy and comfortable with several tables and a long bar. The place was extremely busy; the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and accomadating. I started with catch of the day fish cakes: they were light and not weighed down with mayo or industrial breadcrumbs and came atop frsh mixed greens wit a fresh tarter sauce that wasn't to garlicky or gummy ( I actually used it and found it pleasant). Next, I had The Mushroom Truffle Mac and Cheese. STOP THE PRESSES! I usually plow through mac and cheese as I consider it a controlled substance, but this Stuff I had to eat slowly Shells in a sauce with cheddar, gouda, and Monterey jack and topped with bread crumbs. First the truffle wasn't overpowering and the smokiness of the gouda added special touch. The bread crumbs weren't greasy, too thick and added texture. I had to savor each forkfull at least fifteen seconds before chewing. As a connoisseur of mac and cheese, this dish hit all the right spots and was one of the best I've ever had. I finished my meal with a nice sized piece of tees leches cake topped wit a thin layer of whipped cream and toasted coconut: not over the top rich or sweet and satisfying. I will return!

Gloria G.

Yelp
Outstanding meal. We went at 5 o'clock. It's happy hour not just at the bar but the tables as well. My husband and I enjoyed house Manhattans. My husband had the siracha duck wings that had just the right amount of spice and I had the deviled eggs. He had the hamburger special with wonderful fries. I had the scallop special which were cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back. The service was top notch

John L.

Yelp
Atmosphere was reasonable. Food was average. Service was appalling. The waitstaff and bar tenders were just standing around talking to each other and their friends at the bar. It took us a good 2 hours to get our food. No food was coming out of the kitchen but when we checked there were three people back there. We finally called for the manager and she explained she was the co owner. We started to explain that the service was poor and she immediately became defensive and argumentative. Not at all professional. When I ran a bar the customer was always right (even if he / she wasn't). We have never experienced this kind of bad management. When the server finally brought the check he was snippy and I tried to explain to him the importance of customer service. Complete waste of time!!! Will NEVER go back.

Mike C.

Yelp
Excellent and innovative food. I had the pork chop and the combination of the pork, fig sauce and butternut squash spätzle was outstanding. Cocktails are also excellent though the Bee's Knees was a bit sweet for my taste. Chocolate torte was good though not amazing. Service was slow but that's more than tolerable considering the quality of the food. If you are foodie, this is a must. Prices are quite reasonable too.

Duncan L.

Yelp
Neat place for pretty good food - especially if you go for happy hour, with great deals on starters (especially the popcorn, a must buy). A delicious piece of pork, and a beet salad (with not enough beets) sealed the meal. The service was the only slight downside - we waited a long time until someone came by to ask for our orders, and then no one checked on us after we received the food (not a big deal, because the food was fine, but still surprising). I think that the servers were also making the drinks, so they were quite busy, so they weren't ignoring their work.

Elise L.

Yelp
Get the popcorn. I wanted to just write that but yelp made me return. The specials are always good, and the burgers are great. There seems to always be something for everyone in the group we're with, and we've brought children, parents, picky friends, and people with the full range of dietary needs. Great drinks to boot... some of the flavors are unique so order to your tastes, I've found the staff and kitchen accommodating and kind!

Kyle P.

Yelp
Stopped in for a beer and an appetizer. Had the duck nachos and it was amazing. Fun atmosphere. Cool people. Good beer selection. Service was a little disorganized but they had just opened recently and were most likely working the kinks out. Would come back for sure.

Brendan S.

Yelp
Great beer selection, great food, great service. Highly recommended! We ended up with the pickled veggies and some deviled eggs to pair with our beers. Atmosphere was very chill.

Debby K.

Yelp
Waited all day for their 4:30 opening for cocktails and food. Did NOT disappoint! The Rhubarb Cosmo was outstanding! Mac the bartender shared the secret to this delightful cocktail being the rhubarb infused vodka and the rhubarb puree combo. Counter seating where Emily served smoked scallops with basil creamed corn that was an intriguing and yummy combo. Sticky Chicken Tacos were a good combo of spice and tart with the chili lime sauce and cabbage and carrot slaw. Atmosphere is inviting with eclectic music and a throwback film projected on the back wall (Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea tonight). I may be back tomorrow!

Manish S.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this neat little bar and cafe during our east coast road trip. Loved the ambience. Menu has a lot of unique things to offer - both food and beer. If you're in the area and not very hungry (the portions are not very big that is standard for a cafe), definitely check this place out.

Brenda M.

Yelp
The service was awesome, the drinks fantastic and the food amazing! Would definitely recommend!

Lee C.

Yelp
Delicious cocktails! Attentive wait staff! Perfect small portion meals. Noise level was high but some how part of the charm.

Brian W.

Yelp
Awesome cocktails and an eclectic bar scene. I've never tried the food here, but the bar is a great spot to go with a friend or on a date.

Hollie K.

Yelp
Just stopped in with a friend for a quick drink - a $12 martini. Yikes. We didn't eat anything so I can't comment on the menu, but they seemed to offer quite a selection of beer and assorted drinks. The atmosphere is very modern and clean, waitstaff was friendly but a little disorganized. A little pricey for me so we didn't stay longer than our one drink - hope others find it more to their liking.

Natalia L.

Yelp
My fiancé and I went there tonight. The oysters were GREAT, and so were the entrees, drinks, and service. Definitely our new favorite spot in town.

Sean T.

Yelp
Excellent lunch with different daily grilled cheese specials among other fabulous menu items. Very good draft selections and silent films being projected on the back wall. All for quite reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

karina g.

Yelp
Very cool atmosphere, great drink selection, lots of local beer. We just had drinks and appetizers at the bar. They play old movies in the background projected up. Kind of a hipster place - will go back!

Abigail S.

Yelp
I came in to this dreamy spot on a week night, oil lamps aglow, a nice soundtrack going, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory silently projected on the back wall. The staff were super friendly and attended to me kindly and efficiently. The fish tacos were not overly fishy, and nicely dressed up with purple cabbage slaw and a slightly spice zing. Bar snacks like the gourmet popcorn varieties are ridiculously more-ish, so put some willpower in your pocketbook before enter the temptation zone. I will happily return to try out other options on their diverse menu!

Patrick G.

Yelp
Impressed with the service and quality of food for this place. The quality of food was excellent but a tad on the pricey side. Mushroom truffle Mac and cheese and sticky duck wings were delicious. Would come back if in the area. Well done!

Ben E.

Yelp
It's not good when you wake up annoyed about the dinner you bought last night. It was called "Duck Pie" on the specials menu, but soup would have been closer, and it wasn't good soup. It did not include much duck either, and the sweet potato "crust" was not even remotely crusty. My partner liked her mushroom special fairly well, but I felt like I'd wasted $18. There are so many good places to eat in downtown Rockland -- hallelujah -- but Fog needs to improve its game.

Jorge C.

Yelp
Hip decor, friendly atmosphere, artful, well prepared and nutritious meals, superlative beverages. What's not to like? A great time!

Lori S.

Yelp
It was delicious. We arrived around 530 and ordered drinks (great beer selection and the blackberry Cosmo tasty) and appetizer (popcorn and oyster deviled eggs). We then ordered dinner-I had gnocchi, it was so good. Other people had the burger and the catch of the day which they enjoyed. One person had the pork belly taco which I tried and they were awesome. I will be getting them the next time we go. We also had the chocolate mouse which I think was the best I have had. Everything was great. We were there for about 2 hrs 30mins, never felt rushed. The atmosphere was very nice as well. When we got there only 3 other couples there but by the time we left the place was full. Will be going back again for sure!

Ryan K.

Yelp
Cool-hip atmosphere but the service was terrible! The group of ten I was with literally had to wait 20 minutes for a round of drinks and probably another 20 minutes after we asked for our checks. Portions were extremely small. The food was tasty but the experience put me off; probably never go back.

Chris C.

Yelp
Decent beer selection. Could use some more choices. 5 +/- rotating beers on tap at a time. Fun and hip atmosphere. I really liked the chalk board paint in the bathrooms, complete with side walk chalk!

Matthew B.

Yelp
This place was exceptional twice. Very good wait staff, beautifully varied draft beer list, good finger foods and two real food highlights: one burger with fresh trompette mushrooms that was in the top three burgers I have ever eaten; and fish tacos that were the best I have ever eaten, twice in a row. A very very good restaurant, and good value as well.

A J.

Yelp
This is a really special bar and restaurant. A lot of people have left reviews about the service being slow, but this was not our experience at all! A laid back and almost-European vibe, you would never know you weren't in New York or Berlin. This place changes it menu often and sources many ingredients from local Maine farms and fishermen for its artful and healthy food. I recommend seeing what is on the specials board and ordering that - although the burger is also pretty fantastic! I've been here several times and my favorite dish is the lobster fettuccine Alfredo. Literally perfect. Also if it is summer try the fresh-muddled strawberry margarita - but all the cocktails and beer selections are beautiful and rare.

Ally P.

Yelp
Came here for some late night drinks and snacks. I had two good cocktails and some great mac and cheese. The interior space is pretty cool, but service was just okay.
