As of 06/10/2025 (Breakfast) Taste:7️⃣ Environment:9️⃣ Seating:7️⃣ Service:6️⃣ Portion size:4️⃣ Value for money:5️⃣ *on a scale of ten Overall Score:63 / 100 Average cost per person:£8.85 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛 The entire shop is decorated mainly with wood, and the air is filled with the rich aroma of coffee, creating what should have been a very relaxing atmosphere. Many locals come here to enjoy a cup of coffee while working on their laptops. However, the café was so crowded that we were eventually seated at a large shared table for eight, which slightly took away from the experience. 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵 🤙🏻Banana Toast - Toasted Sourdough, Peanut Butter, Banana, Chia Seeds & Honey(£5.5) 🤙🏻Mocha Tart (£4) 🤙🏻Pumpkin Spice Latte (£4.2) 🤙🏻Matcha Latte (£4) 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

Recently moved from London, having worked in the coffee trade - I was genuinely impressed by this place. The Modbar setup is sleek, Red Bank coffee is a great choice, and the baristas are clearly well-trained. Staff are spot on: friendly, professional, and passionate about what they do. A top-tier coffee experience and I would think you would struggle to find a better cup in Cumbria

Don’t be put off by the location (situated in the middle of an industrial estate), as Fold serves some of the best coffee and hot chocolate we tried in the Lakes. Friendly service and would highly recommend.

Super friendly staff, clean design, great wifi. Warehouse location next door to CrossFit, even a door betwixt the two if workout and coffee need to be that close together for you! Plenty of table space and power outlets as well. Had a ham and cheese toasty, the sourdough was delicious. The house espresso was very mellow, Americano was perfect.

Incredible coffee and great vibes. My third time in Kendal this year visiting from London and always make a beeline to Fold. The quality of the brews is up there with the best in London and even back home in Aus.

This is a real hidden gem in Kendal. One of the finest coffee's I've ever had in clean, warm, tasteful surroundings, topped off with perfect avocado toast and salmon and top-notch service! If I could give this place six stars I would! I'll be back...

My new favourite coffee spot in Kendal, perhaps all of The Lakes. A superb but simple offering of all the coffee greats, plus an array of wonderful tasting savoury and dessert foods. Fold is simply one you cannot miss, despite the ever so slightly detour outside of central Kendal. Do not skip it!

I hate writing reviews like some pretentious snob, but I honestly wanted to promote this place. As somebody that has travelled the world visiting coffee houses as a job, I am very surprised to hear myself say that this is honestly a rare gem. I was going into the cafe already thinking that it would fall victim to the 'over simplistic industrial look' that many coffee houses before it have tried to achieve with no success. But actually, it's really stylish, has a great atmosphere, warm considering the massive open building, and isn't trying too hard. The coffee is good, my banoffee brownie was absolutely "mwah". My second round although decaf was also good, and finally a place that provides you with an adequate amount of butter with my toast! My only complaint is that there was a young lady by herself until 9:30am doing everything. She coped really well but I did feel for her. Definitely worth a visit.
