Foley Towers - BBH

This place is pretty great for a hostel. I stayed in a three bed room and there were no bunk beds so that was cool. I loved the outdoor area with the hammocks and I liked the kitchen and lounge areas indoor as well, though I did not spend much time in there. I was shocked when at 2am a man entered my room, but I quickly learned that coed rooms were common in New Zealand. Overall, this is a really comfortable place to stay if you are staying in a hostel. It was also really centrally located and you could follow the river into town.

One of the best hostel ever. I spent 7 months there and i saw a lot of people coming back in this hostel after a trip because you feel like home. For a short or a long stay, you enjoy all the relax common areas, peaceful garden, big kitchen with oven and everything for cooking and baking. Friendly atmosphere, thanks to Janet and Tom, and all the managers. 100% recommended

Good kitchen and shared facilities. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to make meals. Shared areas included games and a piano. Beautiful garden area. Bed was comfortable. Location was good. Staff were friendly. The only complaint is that the walls are thin in between rooms and you can sometimes hear the conversations from another room or outside.

The hostel is a little quirky, with multiple buildings and a courtyard/garden for sitting in on sunny days. There are 2 different kitchens, a smaller kitchen in the building with private rooms and a larger kitchen behind the front desk. The smaller kitchen was well equipped, spacious and clean. We had a private room, which was clean, comfortable and quiet. The toilet and shower rooms were very clean. The sinks are in the same room as a the showers, which may create a bottleneck problem if you're using the toilet (separate room with no sink) and all the showers are being used. And not all of the shower heads are working that well. ||||The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had no problems booking a shuttle to the airport via the front desk. And there's a friendly resident cat who doesn't mind being stroked and scratched by strangers.

Can’t recommend this hostel highly enough. Maria on reception was always friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the facilities are awesome. The gardens are a great place to chill out and it all feels really secure as all the gates to the street are locked. It’s also right next to the city center and the river Avon so a perfect location to explore Christchurch. 10/10 would hostel again.

Nice Hostel with a big kitchen and very much space to hang out inside and outdoors. Nice rooms with showers and bathrooms right around the corner. Everything is very clean and is being cleaned on a regular basis. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the overall atmosphere is chilled and positive! I'd definitely would go again! The Wifi is free and very fast and they have parking available.

Honestly my fav hostel of all times. Checked in for a single night, but the staff and everybody was so nice that i ended up booking another night. After a some time, i realized that i had literally stayed there for 4 weeks, and it was the best time ever! Nice people and lots to do in christchurch. Nice staff and people living there, beautiful garden, clean facilities and loads to do (piano, guitar, board games, slack line, you name it!). ||When the corona happened i was in the road with a friend in her van 5 hours away from christchurch, but we decided to go to foley towers imediately to stay there during the lockdown. Now we are 4 weeks into lockdown and I have no regres of comming back.

Foley Towers are located at a good location in the centre. Only downside is that also the fire station and police station are close so you often hear their alarms going off.||||The room itself was nice only a bit of a weird smell was present. The bathroom was clean but small. The shower had nice hot water but wasn't working so well.||||It has a nice garden with lots of flowers but often also guests that make lots of noise till deep in the night. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. ||||They have two receptionists. One was nice and helpful (the Dutch woman). The other receptionist (the eastern European woman) send us to one of her acquaintances who is a car mechanic because we needed help with our car. It turned out he wasn't a mechanic and did even more damage to the car.||||I would recommend this place for its good location and reasonable price.
