Stopped into Folger’s Cafe for the first time, and it immediately gave off that classic small-town diner vibe — tight space, counter seating, and a steady flow of regulars who clearly know this is the lunch spot in Ada. (They’re only open for lunch, so plan accordingly.) I ordered a cheeseburger with grilled onions, everything on it, plus BBQ sauce, along with fries. The burger was exactly what you want from a local café — flavorful, juicy, and cooked just right. The grilled onions and BBQ sauce added the perfect mix of sweetness and smokiness. The fries were fresh-cut and actually tasted like real potatoes, which is rare these days. Service was friendly and quick even with the café being packed. It’s a small place, but that’s part of its charm — feels like Ada’s own little time capsule. Definitely worth stopping by if you want a classic diner-style lunch done right.

Fantastic little burger joint. My wife’s grandparents went there for years, and I’m so thankful it’s still around. We hit it every time we go to Ada. Cheeseburger, fries covered in ketchup, and the same waitress every time. Keep it up!!

10/10 I’m from out of town and was looking for a bite to eat before I headed out, and Folgers is exactly what I was hoping for. When I walked in, the place was packed, but there was an open seat at the bar. I was greeted by two lovely servers who were kind and attentive. I ordered a cheeseburger, fries and a Coke. As I waited for my food, I could over hear the conversations and everyone seemed to know everyone, and they were all so happy to be there. After I got my food I could see why. Everything was delicious and what you want at a drive in diner. Really glad I stopped in and i hope I’ have the chance to come back someday.

I'm not sure that I have much to contribute to this review because I think this place is already pretty famous amongst burger lovers! Yummy food, hospitable/old-fashioned customer service, cool diner vibe. What's not to love? I should note there is not much seating inside. There are a few 2-top tables but most of the seating is countertop. So families would probably be better off getting their order "to-go". Anyway, it's a great great lunch spot. We took a day trip from Oklahoma City and visited the beautiful Wintersmith Park in Ada as well. So just an idea for any other families out here that might be reading this review.. Get some burgers to go and take them to the beautiful park and have a picnic there!

Folgers has been my favorite burger joint for 50 years and counting. I compare every other place to them and their burger, fries, iced tea - it’s always been the best!

I order an educated cheeseburger basket and a coke, and enjoy every bite while surrounded by the small town folks talking about the latest ballgame, McSwain’s live music, or other event around town. I would drive five hours from my home just to eat here. Don’t miss this!

I felt noticed and welcomed, the gentleman cooking the burgers was super skilled. The burgers were pretty good, however the fries are almost just a mess of mushy hash browns. I felt uncomfortable just by the size of the building. I’m a large guy and it was packed, and you will be rubbing elbows with the people next to you. Very tiny building. Overall though I enjoyed the burger, waitresses were super nice, gentleman cooking was very thoughtful. I’d probably call in a to-go order again.

Best burger and fries around. Great prices and great food

My first stop at Folger's was a winner. Great burger, great service and friendly people inside. It's small and I sat at the counter duty the lunch rush. Reminded me of the old Dot's Diner in Bisbee, AZ and the Hamburger Inn in Ardmore. I'll certainly be back for lunch here again.

Burger and fries were ok. Staff was pretty good. If you're not comfortable sitting next a stranger then I would suggest taking it to go.

Great old fashioned burger joint in the heart of Ada. It's a small building with 4 two person tables and a counter that seats about 10 people. Service is friendly, and they will have your order out in just a few minutes. The menu is simple, and the burger and fries made for a great lunch. As an added bonus, they gave me $5 off my meal for coming in on Mother's Day weekend with my son. I'm looking forward to coming back here next time I'm in Ada.

I have been coming here for as long as I can remember. My late uncle used to bring my sister and me here. He liked how there were all men in the kitchen. My grandmother used to bring us here too. Good old fashioned burgers and friendly faces. Seating is limited so expect a wait, it'll be well worth it. There is a drive up window so you can call ahead and pick up your order there or come inside, have a seat at the bar top, and enjoy an ice cold soda while you wait. Everyone leaves full and happy with their lunch choice. I hope this place never leaves.

Went for lunch and it was pretty full. It is a little small, so get there early. The inside reminds you of a diner and it has a drive thru window on the side. Wait staff and cooks were super nice. The burgers were very good. Would definitely visit again if I'm in the area

Best freaking burgers in Pontotoc county !!! . The price is decent. The atmosphere is good. It's a small place so you get what you get. But it's worth it !! Family owned and family worked!!

Folgers is a fabulous family run burger spot. Their food was excellent and the price was good. Two of us ate for less than $20. We will return for sure!

Folger's is a classic diner that knows what it is and does it well. Solid burgers and nostalgia will go a long way, and Folger's is an Ada institution.

The food taste great you see them make it fresh right in front of your eyes the only issue I may have is that it is crammed in there because it's so tiny but that's the thing Folger's was that way back then and want to keep the same thing going now that's why a lot of elderly go there because they like the service and business they can only have 13 people in at a time 5 stars tho

Best burgers in Ada but why can't you stay open later? I think you close at 2pm? Why not stay open until after supper time?

One of the best. We were on a road to see how many burger joints we could visit in 3 days. This was our first stop. Hard to beat for sure. And the staff were amazingly friendly.

This is an Ada institution. Don't expect to get a table, there are only 3, and sometimes you have to sit at the "bar" but the burgers and fries are worth it. This place is TINY, so order to go. Everything is handmade and simply delicious if you like old time burgers and fries.

Visiting Ada for work and stopped in to Folgers on our lunch break today after hearing from multiple staff members at the hospital that it is a "must" to visit Folgers for lunch while we are here. The locals definitely love this place! Apparently it has even been featured on the television show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives". This is definitely a unique place! It's a tiny building and the sign for the restaurant is barely visible. You walk inside to just a few small tables and a diner style area squeezed in with stools lined across the counter. It feels like you're stepping back in time when you enter this establishment. There is an old fridge that barely fits behind the counter and dated appliances lined across the back. The menu is very simple. Hamburgers, cheeseburgers and fries. The burgers were good and so were the fries! I didn't feel that any of it was too greasy. It was a good meal that made this restaurant worth visiting here in Ada. Quaint is the best way to describe this mom and pops restaurant!

I wanted a burger - no bun and the cooks yelled at us and told us to leave. They only cook burgers - if you have any food allergies or special requests, this is not the place to visit. Their greasy burgers are good, but not worth the poor service and bad attitude from the staff.

Burgers and fries were great. I like thinner burgers and the way that they let the buns soak up the juice is awesome! The meat has a crispy texture on the edges and an awesome flavor. The owners are good people too. 4 stars because the restaurant fits only about 15 people. Get it to go. I believe they only are open for lunch or early dinner. Worth the stop if you are in the area.

Fantastic burgers. I don't get veggies on my burger here so I can taste the wonderful beef cooked on a 100 year old griddle. Get the double with double cheese and fries.

The only reason I'm giving this place 4-stars is because of the food itself. My burger and fries were great but when my husband asked for a simple side of BBQ sauce the guy in the kitchen yelled at him about how they don't do that. I get that it is a small, old-fashioned place, but the people working were rude. Get the food to go is the advice I can give.

This family never disappoints. We went about 1:30PM after the crowd had dispersed. Burger baskets and fountain drinks....the best in town. It was so hot in there, but we don't care. We know what we are getting into when we go to Folgers.

Long story short: Go to Sonic. I heard so many good things about this place for so long that my friend & I decided to try it out. I went to the drive thru & an older woman opened the window & asked what I wanted. I told her 2 cheeseburger baskets & she said okay. About 10-15 minutes later, a younger woman came to the window & said she thought the other lady helped me; I looked at her puzzled & said that she had. The woman I was talking to said she might have but didn't write it down so she probably forgot; what did I want. The second lady was really nice & friendly through the whole exchange. So I waited, waited, & waited some more. I had to text my friend & tell him not to go to lunch yet because this might take longer than expected. I'm so glad I did, because I was there for about 30 more minutes. The younger woman came to the window occasionally, asking if I was fine & gave me my drinks. She explained that the wait was because a group of doctors had an order & the kitchen staff was swamped, but they were bagging mine up as we were speaking. Thank goodness! I get my $20 ready to hand to her & she tells me the price: $19 & some change for 2 cheeseburger baskets & 2 cokes. Reluctantly I gave her the money & got my food. When I got the food out I was so disappointed. The fries tasted like they had been double dipped (dipped & re dipped in grease to warm it back up) & the burger tasted like a burger from the Sonic but twice the price. I was extremely disappointed by this place. I read the Yelp reviews on it & they were mixed so I decided to try it. The burger was good; if just wasn't worth the almost $10 for the food as a whole. Like I stated above, if you want a burger similar to this place, just go to Sonic; you don't have to wait 45 minutes & it's about 1/4 the price.

I tried to like this place. It is a local institution. But then again so are prisons and insane asylums. I have been there twice now and the workers are very unfriendly. In fact downright nasty. The first time I visited it took 45 minutes for a simple burger and fries (that's after waiting 15 minutes to put in an order) the burger was OK but nothing special. The fries were greasy and WAY overcooked. I thought everyone can have a bad day so I thought I would give them a second chance. I returned last night. The place was empty except for one other customer. The atmosphere was much like a morgue. The girl behind the counter ignored me. After ten minutes I was getting ready to leave when a cook came out and took my order. I didn't think it was possible to have a dry overdone burger with no flavor on top of a piece of wax paper that is coated in grease but apparently it can be done. The burger was so dry and nearly burned I couldn't chew it. The fries was so greasy and overcooked I couldn't eat them. For the amount I spent on a burger, fries and a Coke I could have two at McDonalds and got a better meal (if that doesn't say it all I don't know what will) Avoid this place like the plague! Go to a gas station and get a burnt, dried out corn dog. It will taste better.

After we finished our meal, we noticed a roach crawling on the wall. It isn't too surprising given that the walls are covered in a layer of nicotine-like grease residue, which have never been cleaned. If you are still considering going to the place, I will admit the food was ok. Probably 3 out of 5-- tough to hold down once you see a roach within arms length of your meal.

Best burgers I ever ate but the prices have skyrocketed. They need a bigger place also.

Folgers is an Ada landmark. I used to eat there when I was a small child and surprisingly the burgers are every bit as good as I remember them when I was young. Making a burger isn't rocket science but there is an art to it and they have it down to a t. They have some of the best fries I have eaten. Some might say it is expensive. You can always get a cheaper burger at McDonald's if you're looking for bargain-basement prices. If you're looking for a quality burger, come to Folgers.

Service was good. Burger was great and not greasy. Fries were very good and not greasy Not sure where other folks went but Folgers was good on Christmas Eve 2013 I will be back

Only reason this establishment is still around is old folk don't change their habits easily. Horrible burgers greasy fries and rude wait staff.

To be honest, the best thing about this place is the atmosphere. It makes me feel like I am at a malt shop in the 50s and not in the memorabilia way. It's like this place opened and never changed anything. The burgers are juicy, but mine seemed overdone. Their fries are homemade, but very greasy. It's definitely a place to go for the experience above the food.

This place is great old time fresh hamburgers and fries nothing fancy no glamorized just fresh and real .The staff is awesome if possible try to get seat at Angelas table she is awesome .

The ambiance reminds me of small town diners in the 60's, BUT their cheeseburgers are WONDERFUL & their FFs are definitely hand made. They have a drive thru window on the side that seems to stay busy and the cooks were still busy behind the grill putting out takeout orders. They are located about 4 minutes from the Ada Acupuncture Clinic on E 12th St which puts it on my short list of places to go grab a bite between patients. Excellent experience. Thank you.

I tried this place on recommendations from other people have been through Ada and I talked about their great hamburgers. I known from experience that older little cafes in burger joints can serve some of the best food there is. The staff can be friendly and very inviting and the actual restaurant can have a very small like charm. I found none of this to be true at this place. Sure the place is a little bit greasy. It's a greasy spoon it's supposed to be that way. But damn, clean the walls and the appliances. Food was cold and burnt, if that is possible. The old cook needs to retire or train someone who actually gives a rip about this place. TRY someplace else.

Ate my last Folger's burger about 10 years ago. This was after we entered the joint 30 mins before closing time and dealt with Wanda's wrath. I vowed then and there that I'd never go back (and I haven't). Food is/was good, tho'.

Classic burger place. A must go to for visitors. When I first moved here 18 years ago this was the first place I was taken to, to eat at. Get a burger, fries and a lime coke.

An Oklahoma staple! By far the best burger and fries you can get anywhere. Need to get here early as they have limited seating, but best in the state. Lots of history here as well.

Staff was down right rude and unhelpful. My husband and I went in with our infant (at the time) and sat down. We waited half an hour to place an order, then found out they didn't accept cards, so my husband left to get cash. At least we didn't have to worry about being late with payment, as we had to wait another 45 minutes to an hour for the food itself. The burgers were thin, burnt pieces of meat and had no flavor. The fries were soggy and flavorless. There is nothing about this place that would ever convince me to return.

I love a good greasy burger once in a while, so if that's all you want, Folger's is the place. Other than greasy, there is nothing else positive to add. The meat patty is smashed flat and cooked until it resembles a piece of coal. The fries are soggy and the price for it all is not the cheapest. There are other better burger joints in town. Believe me, I have cooked my fair share of hamburgers...

Best hamburger you will ever eat. Nothing like it that I have ever found. Stay open forever Folger brothers!!
