"This government-run marine park is located one mile north of Holetown and features underwater exhibits plus diving and beach facilities. Visitors will find convenient showers and shops, plus an interpretive center and museum with marine and coastal environment displays and exhibits of the island’s fishing industry."
It is still very much a nice picnic and relaxing spot for the whole family on a bank holiday and any day for that matter, with a play park for the kids, a recreational area for your morning or evening exercises.
Nice boardwalk stroll along the beach in the evening to catch the lovely sunsets, popular sunbathing and snorkeling spot too with bathrooms and showers on site, the marine park section was closed on my visit but worth checking out.

Great place for a picnic, a family reunion or a family focused get together.
Nice grounds, with seating and a few courts, I think tennis and basketball. They also have a nice beach with bathroom and changing facilities. And a cute if small boardwalk.
They have off-street parking, which is a nice touch as the main road is a bit busy. Almost a hidden gem!

Absolutely loved this place! I liked both beach and snorkeling even better than at Carlisle bay. The artificial reef harbors plenty of tropical fish, stingrays and tapping come even up close to the beach and if you swim a little bit out (look for the tour boats) you can easily find the seagrass patches where you can see sea turtles. If you want to take a tour you better bring cash ($50-60, US Dollars). A few nice lunch options are around as well - we loved Calma Beach Club. The best snorkeling is just in front of the club.

Great location, small beach, but good snorkelling just off-shore. Clean, clear water. Lovely helpful lady working there. Bar, clean loos, shower, gift shop, loungers

We had a little guided tour of the museum / aquarium for a nominal price (I can't remember but very low). This area has showers, change rooms, toilets, concession, and some amazing snorkeling if you swim out to the reef. Overall, it's an excellent spot right off the highway in Holetown. It's also right next to the oldest church in Barbados (worth checking out).

Great place for swimming and snorkelling, we saw many fish near the coast.
Toilets are clean, there’s changing room and shower outside.
Parking was easy today but it was not busy.

Has shaded parking, showers, washrooms, lovely little beach (use the north one not the south one) and a great reef directly accessible from the beach and without boaters. Even a gift shop. Best spot to snorkel on your own time.

Wow, what a lesson in Barbadian history. Our driver stopped for us to tour and gave us the history of the cast bell. So the story goes, the bell was cast by the same foundary as the liberty bell and used before the liberty bell was made.
The bell unfortunately had a failed mounting system and fell from the bell tower and cracked. After a full repair was done we understand it never sounded the same as originally intended...so a replica was made and installed with the origional bell on display at one of the entrances to the church.
