Visiting the Hamptons This Summer? Take a Moment for the Trees | Vogue
"As we stroll in East Hampton with Tucker Marder, founder of Folly Tree Arboretum, we pass a Norway Spruce Cobra puddling on the ground and an extremely weeping willow; “When you’re growing 100,000 trees, just like in a population of people, you’re bound to have one individual who says, ‘I’m a lazy tree,’” he says. We’ve passed clones of trees that have been to the moon or written about by Anne Frank in her diary, but it’s this ordinary spruce with the moody mien that stops me in my tracks." - Cass Lovett
They have tons of chickens. The trees look like Dr. Seuss and I found a pig pen with basically two sleeping whales. I could not rouse them from slumber

My family just participated in a homeschooling day at this farm and we totally fell I. Love with this property and the people who care for it!! The garden is simply breathtaking and the grounds are wild and beautiful.. I’m not sure what the actual business is here but if you ever have the chance to visit, it’s absolutely worth the trip!!

Folly Tree Arboretum is SUCH a special place. Tucker does a fantastic job, “telling stories” about the trees! I absolutely adored the walk, the trees, and all of Tucker’s knowledge. Anyone who has the chance to come here is quite lucky!

I have to say, Mr. Marder is right — I never knew trees were so funny! Thanks Folly Tree!

This is a special place! The tree collection is incredible and fun. Tucker’s stories on the tour brought everything to life. I can’t wait to come back for the puppet show in July.

A growing collection of rare conifers and humourous trees (also pigs, ducks, geese, chicken, and bees), as well as host to art shows, performances, whiffle ball tournaments, and other outdoor delights!
