Google
Food Land Market in Boise is an absolute standout, offering a truly exceptional experience that goes beyond your typical market. From the moment you step inside, the cleanliness is striking – it's by far the cleanest store and restaurant I've ever visited. The shelves are so impeccably organized and straight, it's genuinely impressive and a testament to their attention to detail. But it's not just about the pristine environment; the food is equally impressive. I highly recommend the kebab plate, which was incredibly flavorful and offered a fantastic variety of tastes. Each bite was a delight! And for a unique treat, they even offer Turkish coffee, prepared traditionally with a sand warmer to heat the coffee. It's these thoughtful touches that truly elevate the experience at Food Land Market.

Google
Second time. The chicken shawarma was pretty dry and tasted reheated, the portion was pretty small. We’ll probably give it one more shot since the reviews are so strong — hoping for a better experience, third times a charm.

Google
Do not buy from them! The food was mediocre at best. My shawarma was ice cold and the portions are a complete joke. They charge $8 for a salad that's tiny. Totally disappointed — it looked nothing like the pictures. Never again! 🤨

My wife wanted to try Dubai Chocolate, but I was thinking no because we live in Idaho. I Googled Dubai Chocolate, Food Land Market off of Orchard and Emerald showed up. We drove from Kuna and sure enough there they were on the shelves. 3 different brands, we picked Picasso by Vanelli. So delicious and we were extremely impressed in taste and texture. We recommend the chocolate bar and store. Yes, the restaurant inside the store is delicious too.

Google
The most beautifully organized, clean, well stocked store I have ever seen. We had lunch in the back and it did not disappoint. Simple and delicious. Bought drinks from the cooler and chocolate for dessert. Can’t wait to try more of the menu.

Google
Been a few times now and this place is a new favorite. It’s super clean which is always appreciated. The employees have always been welcoming, polite, and helpful. I love how they make an effort to have nice presentation, even with something like shawarma and fries. I haven’t had anything here that wasn’t great. Love this place.

Mohamed A.

Google
I can definitely say that they got the best Falafel And Arabic Shawarma in Boise. So good I literally can’t get over how freaking delicious they make them. Highly recommend if you looking to test the best Falafel and Shawarma 💙

Alex K.

Google
Liked it, not loved it. The inside is super nice and has high quality products. Its clean and is thoughtfully curated. As you walk in, it is a very cute little cafe with shopping isles just beyond the seating and further in the back is the kitchen and food ordering area. Coffee is fantastic. Many to choose from. The only real negative really is the prepared food prices for meals to eat in or take away. Food: Looks amazing 😍 The rice was on the dry side. The chicken was well overcooked but had a nice charred flavor. The kebab meat was tender and tasty. Samosas were great, had a nice spice.

Yelp
This is my new fav spot for dessert and treats. We bought Baklava, and it as every bit as good as the ID Guide magazine said. Yes, they are slightly higher than some treats, but they are specially made with the best ingredients. Absolutely delicious, and such a variety of mid-Eastern pastries. We also looked around the grocery store, and when some of my freezer space opens up, I'll be back. Love the food, too.

Yelp
My husband and I met at Food Land Market for a lunch date. We both love Middle Eastern food and we had walked through the market before, but wanted to come back to try the food. The prices were pretty outrageous. We spent $50 for two lunch plates, an order of hummus, two waters, and an Arabic coffee. The price would have been easier to handle if the portions were bigger, but I received 3 pieces of kubba, 1/2 salad, and maybe a few tbls of hummus. My husband received maybe 4 oz of meat in his lunch plate and the same small portions of salad and hummus. The wait was also a bit longer than we expected, especially for lunch. Not a problem for us because we weren't in a time crunch, but if it were my lunch break, I would be very anxious and rushed. Ok, despite all this, the food was delicious. The kubba was some of the best I've had. It was crunchy on the outside and meat in the inside was delicious! I gave one piece to my husband and it felt like a real sacrifice. He really enjoyed his food. He had chicken, steak, and a kebab. The hummus was also delicious. It was served with the traditional flat pita, not the fresh baked pita you can get at some restaurants. However, I did see bags of fresh baked bread in the back and I was tempted to buy a bag because it looked delicious. If you're craving good Middle Eastern food, this is a great option in Boise. Just be prepared to open the pocket book!

Yelp
Limited parking. Market and eating area are clean. Natural lighting. Cooks were friendly and had smiles on their faces. Staff up in the front were a bit opposite. No greeting and sort of seemed like they didnt want to be there. Not rude though. Food is delicious. Falafel were flavorful, crispy, but not dry. The hummus was almost smooth. The pita had a little stale texture. It's pretty pricy, but we'd come back if we were craving it. Oh yeah, the market is great too.

Yelp
We've had authentic midwestern food and this didn't compare. The food wasn't bad, just not a repeat for us.

Yelp
Had lunch at Food Land Market today with a friend. I had the Chicken Tikka sandwich, she had the Chicken Shwarma sandwich and we split an order of Samosas. Everything was made to order and DELICIOUS. We ended the meal with Turkish coffee and baklava- so many choices of baklava, you can't go wrong. The market itself is so neat, clean and fully stocked with any ingredient you'd ever need for a middle eastern/mediterranean recipe. It was fun browsing all the exotic products. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go back. Oh! Parking is a bit of a ....struggle. If you can't score one of the limited spaces out front, I recommend parking on the street in the neighborhood one street over. It's a short walk and a small price to pay for such a great experience.

Yelp
Food was absolutely delicious!! My boyfriend and I were super hungry and just pulled in. We waited about 15 minutes for our food but it was worth it, food was hot n fresh! He ordered the Lamb plate, I ordered the Mix plate which I would highly recommend since it came with three different meats! Would absolutely be returning!
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Very clean! Some selection of foods and groceries. Lamb kebab with rice and hummus was very good.

Yelp
Pretty disappointing. Very high prices for average & small sandwich's. Luckily I travel enough to get my Mid East/Mediterranean fix at some of these favs. Chandler/Mesa/Scottsdale-AZ https://greencorneraz.com Denver, CO https://www.felfel-usa.com Lake Oswego, OR https://hushhush.cafe Henderson & Las Vegas, AZ https://www.merakigreekgrill.com Fresno- CA https://kababcityonline.com

Yelp
Very friendly staff and one of the cleanest stores and kitchens I've seen. Fully stocked for all your shopping needs and delicious food. Our sandwiches were fresh and flavorful. We look forward to trying more of the menu!
google avatar

Valerie W.

Yelp
I love how open and organized this store is, I also love the option to buy food, baklava and coffee inside as well. Today I tried the chicken tikka and it was flavorful and tasty, I also got baklava and their pistachio latte. Both were super tasty. The staff here is also extremely friendly and helpful. I will be back again!
google avatar

Yelp
Very Clean and neat store! The portion size was generous for two and everything was fresh and flavorful!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing shawarma! This place has the best falafel I've ever had as well. Connected to a very clean and well stocked market to get whatever you need. The staff are very kind and welcoming. Will definitely be back!

Aw M.

Yelp
just ok and overpriced. $2.15 for Kirkland bottled water. total order came to $44 for two. nothing exceptional about the falafel plate. service was exceptional. I'd recommend shopping at the market, but unlikely I'd ever order food again.
google avatar

Luigina M.

Yelp
I understand the hype for this place. The market is fun to shop around, and the food is pretty darn tasty. The service was pretty mild, not crazy slow but also not the most attentive and quick. They have indoor and outdoor seating. My biggest drawback for this place is pricing. While the food was good and had great flavor, it was pretty expensive! A single person meal averages about $20. Maybe one option cheaper than that. In addition to prices being high, the portions weren't that big. We paid just shy of $50 for 2 meals and 1 drink. Which for us was pretty steep for a casual lunch. Overall the food was good, and the market was nice. But I don't think I'd pay those prices again for a smaller portioned lunch.

Yelp
Amazing Middle Eastern food! This place combines three sections: a supermarket, a restaurant, and a coffeeshop. The supermarket offers a wide variety of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern goods. The restaurant offers delicious Iraqi food, I tried the mixed kabob; three skewers of tender marinated chicken, ground beef and lamb, all amazing, especially the lamb. I finished with an Iraqi coffee, similar to the Turkish coffee you find across the Middle East, strong and bold flavor, and some pistachio and walnut baklavas, a heavenly finish.
google avatar

Mercedes C.

Yelp
Went in for some easy to eat Falafel 3 big pieces for $3.30!!! A really great deal. Decided on so e Dolamade as well 3 pieces for $3.72!! Another great deal. Both were so very tasty. My companion had a very tasty Turkish coffee. I highly recommend this place for all things in the Middle Eastern.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Solid for a good variety of Meditteranean items. Friendly service at the food counter and I recommend the falafel sandwich. Might want to order ahead because they can get busy. There are several tables where you can dine-in and there are a few tables on the outside of the market. Organic tahini is available if you are so inclined. Varieties of olives too. This is a Boise gem.
google avatar

Heather S.

Yelp
This is now the place I religiously get my Bulgarian feta! Tucked away past the shiny coffee bar and past all the grocery shelves filled full of olives, cookies, noodles, spices (and more!) in the very far refrigerator shelf lies the goldmine of cheeses. And there my friends is my new favorite cheese....next to the ice cream. This place is a three-in-one stop. Grab your coffee in the morning, or spend some time locating some groceries, or step to the way back for some fresh food! Some yummy, hot, delectable food like homemade falafel nuzzled in a warm pita or baklava dripping in pure heaven. (Tons of food options but these are the two I have gotten.) There are a few tables in the back to sit and eat or you can get your food to-go. Remember this is fresh food so have some patience while it is fixed. I waited about 5-10 minutes but I wouldn't have found my feta so it was a winning situation. The owners and staff are super friendly and helpful. Parking can be a bit complicated if you go during the busy hours. Parking on a side street and walking over is advised during the busy times. Go! Awesome addition to the bench!

Yelp
The newest entry into a growing number of Iraqi eateries and markets, there is a lot to like here but also some things that will stand in my way of being a frequent customer after two visits to try it out. WHAT'S TO LIKE: FRIENDLY OWNER: Starting with the list of lovely things are the very nice woman who owns the sparkling clean market and the young woman - a relative I think - who makes Turkish coffee at the front of the market. Both of these women are helpful in answering questions and assisting customers. (But spread too thin - see Drawbacks below.) EAT IN SPACE: There are tables and chairs in a bright space near windows at the front of the market if you want to order coffee there or something to eat from the food counter or bakery, both at the back of the market. WELL STOCKED: As Middle Eastern markets go in Boise, this is by far the brightest, most organized and best stocked for Middle East originated packaged goods of all kinds (with the exception of spices as selection is more limited here than at the Iraqi market Ishtar) and for items in refrigerator and freezer too. (No green grocer / produce here that I noticed either time.) My husband and I do a fair amount of cooking of Middle Eastern food at home from many countries including Iran, Turkey, Palestine, Lebanon, Israel and Afghanistan and while some ingredients are increasingly available in American grocery stores, it really is helpful to have local markets like this so package good items don't have to be ordered and shipped. And for cooks or shoppers newer to the wonderful food of these countries, I can see this market would be a delightful source of new discoveries. IN HOUSE BAKERY: Having fresh bakery as here for pastries and breads is a real treat given as comfortable as I am with cooking some food dishes of the Middle East I am never going to be skilled enough to do the baking. For example, they bake kanafeh here! DRAWBACKS: SERVICE IN FOOD SECTION: Service from the men working in the food section to order items to eat in or take out seems to hover between indifferent and non-existent (with the exception of a really helpful young man sometimes in the bakery section). I do understand this can be cultural but it doesn't make it any more enjoyable when I have options of going elsewhere for the food. Folks that don't know me might think 'spoiled American' to read this comment but folks who do know me know I go out of my way to support immigrant run businesses and it takes a lot to ruffle me. This indifference does. SLOW: Processes can be slow because the two nice and helpful women just can't spread themselves thin enough to be everywhere and so the order process for food (during my visits it was necessary for customers to get these women's help to get attention for an order) at the back and delivery to the front can take a long time. The same is true if you're shopping in the store since it seems the same two women do most of the checking out of customers along with everything else. Both times we were there there were a small cluster of customers waiting at the single check out register. No worries about that - but best to know before you go and not be in a hurry here. EATS: The prepared food was for us good enough but not the best of the growing number of Iraqi and other Middle Eastern food options in Boise. So for us this would not be a destination for prepared food given the alternatives. AWKWARD PARKING LOT / LOCATION: The store was remodeled in a building that was long ago a bike shop or some other business, I understand, and the parking lot is a bear to get in to and out of and with limited space. (Also the business just across the lot has, I understand, threatened to tow customers of the market who park on that side.) I feel bad for the market owner as this is not her problem but a problem for whomever owns this strip mall / lot overall. The inadequate and awkward parking lot likely have something to do with why this building remained vacant for so long between businesses. ACCESSIBILITY: For people with mobility limits (including me as I have MS since college years) if you can get in the door the market is all one one floor with plenty of aisle space for good access inside. But the parking lot entry into the store is woeful. To get to the marked ADA parking at the front requires doing a K-turn with traffic coming in perpendicular to the car doing the K to get to that spot. Then once up the ramp a person with mobility limits has to double back to walk - or roll - across the length of the building on uneven cement walkway to get into the door on the side. I think they have an older ADA spot on the side near the door but there is no compliant ramp there to use and so dangerous. I describe this so folks who see the ADA marked spot in pictures of the building might know how dangerous it is to get to that parking spot and how awkward it is to use.

Yelp
This was my 1st time, but it would not be my last time. Excellent selection of imported items. The store was very clean and well ordered. I walked to the back to order some hot food and the man there was young, very friendly and polite. They opened the back door briefly, and I saw the mother of the family hard at work preparing some of the food items. They have many Middle Eastern items, but I believe they specialize in Iraqi cuisine. I could go back many times and try a variety of items, especially their sweets and grilled olives! You order your food in the back and immediately sit down in front, where they will bring it to you. I ordered the lamb shwarma sandwich Arab-style with a side of hummus. The sandwich had the perfect level of spice, and the hummus was very creamy served with Pita bread. Before you leave, go to the cash register to pay your bill along with any other items you've picked up in the store while you wait. I definitely recommend getting an authentic hot brewed coffee before you leave. The only complaint I can think of is that they do not advertise enough and it took me almost 2 years to find this store/cafe.

Yelp
Foodland market is the Real Deal! My friend told me about this place when I mentioned I needed to find a ME market to pick up some filo and rose water for baklawa. We went together and I was excited the moment I stepped in the door..smelled just like my mother's kitchen! We shared the "family platter for 2" - the pillowy flatbread made me so happy, the shawarma, the falafel, the hummus.. EVERYTHING tasted like home and every bite was delicious and I savored it all The grocery selection is extensive and I picked up what I needed with a plan to go back soon.

T B.

Yelp
Very tasty. I ate these (the non arabic version on a fluffy, steamed PITA) back in 1984 in Germany. The yogurt sauce was a star - just the right texture and tang. The french frys were 10/10. My bill was 16.00 for food with no drink and in todays market that was a very fair price. At the reviews that discuss the price negatively, think of what McDonalds costs now and there is no comparison. I left full an d feeling like I ate quality food and not junk. I wish I knew what to do with all of the amazing things they sell in the market here. I am not very knowledgeable about cooking Persian food but dont think I'm not figuring it out. Do not let the negative price reviews stop you from an amazing international option that we have in Idaho - lest we are not tired of basic pub food?

Kari L.

Yelp
Food is slow coming out/ but love that it is made after you order it, not like a pile already made- it is pricey, and I wish it was less, but I bet it's bc it's super authentic. Food is amazing tho, even on the pricier side, it's worth it.
google avatar

Marie I.

Yelp
Wonderful owners, great service. A lovely meal, quoi d'autre demande le peuple?? What a treat to have Turkish coffee in Boise
google avatar

Ariana F.

Yelp
Stopped in to pick up lunch, great market with lots of ingredients that are hard to find anywhere else. We got the chicken tikka and Arabic style shawarma. My son(toddler) loved the shawarma! They were pretty busy but it was worth the wait.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
What am I missing here? $22 for a small portion of shitty food. There are tons of other Mediterranean restaurants in the valley that are both better and cheaper. Hell, Gyro Shack is even better than this garbage. Save your money, go elsewhere.

Ethan 1.

Yelp
The food was fantastic! My family and I shared the family plate, which included samosas, falafel, chicken shawarma, a lamb skewer, and some rice. While waiting for our food, we browsed the shopping area, which was filled with amazing items. The entire area was impeccably clean and well-maintained, from the floors to the building itself. The employees were incredibly kind and offered excellent recommendations for both food and drinks.would definitely recommend to anyone looking for some fantastic middle eastern food.will definitely be back soon
google avatar

James M.

Yelp
I can't believe we didn't go here sooner. Fantastic market and I'd say some of the best food in Boise. It's hard not to order everything on the menu! If the food doesn't bring you back, the kindness and hospitality of the owners is wonderful. Places like this is what makes our city better.
google avatar

David A.

Yelp
Another Boise gem! This market and restaurant is one of the cleanest and well organized retailers I've ever seen. I wolfed down the well prepared and delicious chicken schwarma plate with salad and crunchy fries! What's clear is how much pride and hard work it's owners put into their market and restaurant. I haven't seen products and shelves this neatly organized since I visited Bavaria way back. I finished up with Turkish coffee and a really satisfying piece of pistachio baklava.
google avatar

Marc M.

Yelp
Had a chicken shawarma which was served cold (unlike others I have had before). Falafel was on point! Great prices and friendly staff. The staff was truly appreciative of our business! Give them a try and support local businesses! Had an orange soda from Turkey. $0.90 !! Yes that is correct $0.90 !! It is 2020...it cost more to make this and ship it halfway around the world to Boise, Idaho. Charge me $1.50 at least so you don't go out of business!!!! I will pay it!

Yelp
I'm so glad Boise's good scene is growing with the array of flavorful options at Food Land Market. This place doubles as a market and a restaurant/cafe. The shelves are fully stocked with an array of various Turkish, Mediterranean, and other European goods and sundries. They've got Turkish delights, candies, biscuits, olives coffees and so much more. The real treat, though, is the array of breakfast and lunch options. When I went recently, I was greeted by the friendly owners who totally sold me on the falafel plate. My eyes feasted as the owner placed the plate in front of me. Everything looked delicious, and, better yet, everything was so flavorful. The falafels were crisp, crunchy and chewy; they were the perfect balance of each aspect. Each was packed with a blend of slightly tangy flavors that were further accented by the sour sauce and the yogurt-dill sauce. Taken together with the hummus, this dish vanished quite quickly as I ravenously chomped it down. I cannot wait to return! Finally, a good Mediterranean market with flavorful dining options and exceptional service.
google avatar

Cameron C.

Yelp
So, actually never made it inside, Google said it opened at 0900, rolled by at 0930 on a Wednesday & store was closed. No hours posted on door, nothing listed in yelp. 2nd attempt for my sister-in-law. I'll definitely be back, perhaps my next visit to Boise. Someone please help me out and post hour :-)
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
This rating is for the restaurant, and not the market itself. I found the prices really, really high for the amount of food provided. The cheapest meal was close to $20 for a single person, and the portion sizes were pretty darn small compared to what I'm used to from Mediterranean establishments, which traditionally pile their bowls high and deep. Our two meals were good and flavorful, but I can't say I would pay over $40 again just for lunch
google avatar

T T.

Yelp
Love stopping in for quiet cup of Turkish coffee and baklava. Staff are friendly and helpful. Their restaurant service looks fantastic - my own fault for not timing my visits better for a meal - but will definitely have to on my next visit.
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
Came to get Falafel from their Bistro and left with four bags of groceries! This place is marvelous - what a great find as we were passing through Boise! The falafel was fresh and scrumptious and eating the goodies we got on the road over the next day or two was so wonderful!
google avatar

Scott M.

Yelp
Love how you feel welcomed the minute you walk in the door! So many unique choices from southeast Asian countries. I recommend the takeout too!

Faiz S.

Yelp
Very clean ethnic store and friendly staff. Cozy seating available as well. Based on reviews I wanted to try the food. Ordered the Kebab combo. The Kafta was really good, the chicken had nice flavor but dry, and the lamb smelled to the point I wasn't able to eat it. Salad and hummus were great.

Beyblade B.

Yelp
Amazing service, great prices, love the ambiance, and the food is sooo good. i really love their market, they have a great selection of Turkish pastries and baklava. My favorite is their frozen food isle.

Allyssa W.

Yelp
This market is a lot of fun. The front is filled with decently priced groceries and the back is the restaurant. At the very front, they have set up some tables and a coffee station. It's all very cute! I got a kebab platter and wow. That's all I can say is wow! It was delicious. I got the mix plate and it was so tasty. I do wish their desserts were homemade though. They are in a case and clearly taken out of a box. My husband went back the other day to get us lunch and got me the chicken tikka salad. It was good but I was wishing there was more chicken on it. The man at the cash register was very friendly (he was possibly the owner). He had other recommendations on the menu and was most helpful!
google avatar

Lewis S.

Yelp
This place is a great addition to the food scene on the bench. The store is nicely updated and clean and the staff is super friendly. Try the Mixed Plate if it's your first time and you can't decide what type of protein to choose.
google avatar

Karlie M.

Yelp
I ate too fast to take a photo, but I had the veggie Somosa plate and the falafel plate. YUM! I have been vegetarian for 15 years and have eaten a lot of falafel- This was seriously the best falafel I've ever had, and the owners of this market couldn't be nicer. I can't wait to be a regular here!!

Angie M.

Yelp
This is a Boise gem! The food was FANTASTIC and so was dessert! Our whole family fell in love with this place. We will be back soon!
google avatar

Elaine C.

Yelp
Love this place! Their little restaurant in the back is delicious! Their kabobs are perfect and the salad was delightful. Prices are great and the customer service was absolutely wonderful. Loved how they served their food and the little front eating area is super nice. Highly recommended! Oh and got some awesome treats for later In their market.
google avatar

Angela M.

Yelp
Very cool spot! I stocked up on some whole wheat pita bread and tried out a few snacks on the menu. We spent most of our time just looking around the store at the wide variety of items. Looking forward to coming back and trying something new.

Tracey R.

Yelp
Ordered online: Three chicken shawarmas, one meat shawarma, one meat kabob, hummus, babaganoush, and tabouli. The bag was surprisingly light for all that food. Turns out they forgot two chicken shawarmas (I guess my bad for not checking). Also turns out the portion sizes are just dinky and WAY overpriced considering. And if I thought that could be redeemed by some amazing flavors, well, the joke was on me again. The hummus was bland, the baba was bland, if overly smoky, the tabouli was drowning in vinegar, the tiny shawarmas we did get had barely any meat. That experience cost me $90. What a racket. Zero stars if I could.
google avatar

Roxana E.

Yelp
The food is absolutely delicious! Try the shawrma, you won't regret it! And definitely get some coffee! The market has everything in it, and a large variety of spices at very reasonable prices. I love coming here!

Maddison J.

Yelp
I was excited to visit Food Land Market while I waited for a friend to finish an appointment. This place EXCEEDED my expectations! The service is amazing, the experience is so fun, and the coffee + baklava is to die for. 10/10 will come again!!!!

Yelp
Excellent find in Boise! Authentic imported staples from Middle Eastern cuisine. From delicious knefe, kebob, cheese, canned and jarred delicious essentials and more!
