Yelp
Foodland is a hawaiin must right? I'd say this location is spacious, would have goods you'd need for stay, and the staff is really friendly. Sign up for the rewards program via phone number and remember to do the survey if you do a more than 3 day trip. Sadly I forgot before it was too late, but you can get a $5 gift card. There's parking in the plaza, it's a little weird with lots of signage but I don't think its regulated.
I was able to find most of foodland branded products here. Coconut chips were my favorite. Their ube cake was also bomb, I preferred it over the passionfruit one. Both are not strong in flavor, but it's a whip cream soft cake versus American buttercream. I couldn't find ube mochi. I prefer this spam musubi over abcs, think the flavor was better.
Poke wise, I found the ahi to be fresh and not have mainland metal taste. Plump and easy to bite through, however most of the sauces were on the saltier/strong side. Their food in general tends to be on the salty side. I also tri3d the breakfast offered, but found it a bit soggy. My favorite I think was the shoyu one, again the spicy one is good but the marinade overtakes the fish flavor. I also tried their raw marinated crab, however, it was too fishy ( esp once you open the container) so it mightve been defrosted. Each 1/4-1/2lb poke cost me around $6-10 so quite affordable.
Overall, I do feel it is one of the freshest poke you can get at a decent price. I think California just has higher standards for food. But I always found the staff amicable, and the ahi does taste diff (fresher, plumper, less fishy)
