I visited the football museum while I was staying in Montevideo! It's a small, but lovely place to visit with a small collection of very old (and not that old) T-shirts, football souvenirs, posters, match tickets etc. I would recommended paying the extra fee to visit the top of the tower and take a look of Montevideo from there. Bear in mind that the museum is small and you can see everything in detail in less than an hour :)

Visiting this stadium is like stepping into the history of world football. The first FIFA World Cup was played in this stadium... need a bigger or better reason to visit? I don't want to reveal the rest, but if you visit this building, you will notice that it is full of real impressions.

It’s a historic museum for all football fans. They exhibits FIFA World Cup history and Uruguayan national team awards and achievements. You need to pay 300 Uruguayan pesos for adult from abroad, 70 Uruguayan pesos for kids. If you go to tower top through elevator, you need to ask their staff. In our case it was enough to take around 1 hour to see all exhibitions and Centenario stadium.

It was just fantastic to visit the football stadium where the first world cup was held in 1930. There is quite a lot of history for football enthusiast to go check out in the Museum. I wish I could be there to watch an actual match and feel the spirit of football that Uruguay enjoys in this stadium.
