Great Restaurant and Service. Wide selection of wine, drinks and food. Didn't give it a 5 stars on food because my main dish didn't feel fresh almost like it was sitting to long to be put out. I did wait a bit for the main course but could of just been a busy night for them. I definitely will give it another try, the appetizers where great. One thing tho make reservations on the weekend (nights) cause I waited about an hour or more to be sited. Worth the try nevertheless 👍

Had an amazing meal and impeccable service at Foothills Milling. We celebrated my husband’s birthday there and could not have asked for a better experience. The service was top notch, our courses were perfectly spaced out and the atmosphere was great. This is how fine dining should be. I have nothing but positive things to say about our meal there. We came here for our anniversary dinner and it was incredible! First impression when we got to our table, they had a custom place card with our name - so thoughtful! It's the little things that truly make you feel special. Our server was wonderful and all the food was fantastic! The NY strip was the best steak we have ever had!

The food was great the fish and steak were both excellent, and the goat cheese tart (my favorite) didn’t disappoint. However, the service was underwhelming. We had a reservation for a large group, but it felt like the staff wasn’t prepared. Our server seemed burdened by every request, which took away from the overall experience. Great food, but the service needs improvement.

Wow, wow, wow!! We couldn’t have picked a better place to dine for our 5 year wedding anniversary! Everything was absolutely amazing! Our server, Hannah, was very attentive and nice! We started out with the curry pork meatballs and they were great! I would absolutely get them again. I had the bacon jam scallops and they were delicious. The creamed corn was hands down the best I’ve ever had. I could eat bowls and bowls of it. The scallops were cooked to perfection. My husband had the dry aged New York strip and he loved it. We love that they also bring out a chefs compliment small bite and a lemon sorbet before the main. We finished off the meal with the peach bourbon tiramisu. My husband loved it! We noticed a lot of people ordering the buttermilk pie so we will have to try that next time! Overall, I highly recommend Foothills Milling Co!

A great experience, as always. Pricing puts it at a point where it's a splurge night, date night, or special occasion, but it continues to draw me back. I usually get the lasagna, as I did this time, and tried the pork skin and pimento cheese dip appetizer. The appetizer was out of this world good! 10/10 highly recommend. My friend ordered the horseradish crusted grouper, which she said was really good, but stated the fingerling potatoes & brussel sprouts stole the show for her.

First of all this was one my first fancy dining experience and I loved it! We had reservations for 3 at 7:30 and were seated maybe 10 minutes past our reservation time, which I'm not mad about at all. That's pretty quick and well worth that little 10 minute wait. The restaurant was dimly lit and played relaxing jazz music so I'd say it an amazing date night spot or a girls night out when you want to dress up. The service was amazing and I was NEVER without water. The waitress always ensured we were doing well and made sure the food was to our liking. The food was absolutely divine! I ordered the horseradish crusted grouper which I loved because it was seasoned to perfection and I enjoyed my portion size. My coworker ordered the shrimp & grits, she said it was really spicy (she's Hispanic) and too salty for her. She is pregnant though so idk if that plays a role in her taste buds. I'm absolutely going back but I'm debating on if I want to change up my order to try new things or stick to what I love!

My wife and I met my mom here after Thanksgiving for dinner. The food was decadent, the service was top notch h and the atmosphere was wonderful. We had the fondue for appetizer, and the entrees ordered by the table were scallops, venison tenderloin and NY strip. I would put this restaurant up against any. The prices are higher than normal for the area, but it is so worth it.

The most delicious meal! My husband and I went out with a group a friends for Valentine's Day. We all had a great time. My husband isn't one for fancy restaurants much but when we left and he said that it was so delicious & was very full. He always thinks fancy = small portions, so he was happy it was not like that here. I got the scallop dinner and scallops are my favorite food to eat ever. They were so delicious. My husband said his duck two ways was great but one tasted better than the other. Each appetizer on the table was very delicious but the best was the truffle cheese. The bread provided on the table was so good dipped in the cheese as well! 10/10 experience here & will definitely be returning.

A lot of things could be approved, but the food was a MAJOR letdown. We had the pork rinds and pimento cheese for starters and it was so bland and flavorless. I had the duck two ways (which lacked flavor in both ways) and my boyfriend had the steak Diane which was overcooked, had a weird texture, and the sauce tasted like it had been sitting out all day. I will say the bread was the BEST part of the meal, the sweet bread and the focaccia were both tasty, but it's sad when that's the star. The service was nice, but not good enough for us to come back.

If you are looking for a delicious special occasion meal, this place is perfect. Very quaint, the food is prepared perfectly, and the staff is amazing!

I went with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday . My first time but their return visit. Friends had my hopes high. I was not disappointed! Excellent everything. Service was impeccable. Small details made the meal special. I won't ruin the surprise for you. Everyone was very happy with their selection. I must say try the blackberry cobbler.

1. The environment is amazing, it's a business casual atmosphere and it's amazing. 2. The service was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! We had Andrew as our waiter and he was absolutely amazing, he had plenty of jokes and he made everything so much more fun.(and also took amazing pictures, if you're going to engaged or need pictures definitely ask for him!!) 3. The food was amazing, I had the black truffle filet and my fiancé had the smoker board salmon. We had a chocolate desert which was amazing. Overall an amazing place!

What a treat! This place doesn't look like much from the street, which is why it too me over three years to try it after moving to the area. So glad I finally gave it a shot because it is fabulous. Impeccable service with pacing between courses, excellent menu with southern style entrees, and everything was delicious. I struggled to pick my main because they all sounded so good, but eventually selected the Mahi. It was wonderful , as were the fried green tomatoes we started with, the fried okra salad, my gin martini, and the cobbler we shared for dessert. Already plotting my next special dinner occasion so I can go back!

An amazing place for a special gathering. Lovely ambience and superb service. We love to have date night here, on our own or with friends. Definitely must get reservations in advance. Well worth the planning! We have been here 5 times now, and are always impressed. Each time we share the green fried tomatoes... it is the best! This time for dinner I had the blackened redfish and hubby had the tempura lobster. Delicious! They serve a pre-dinner treat, then provide sorbet between entrees. For dessert, we shared the cream brûle , and it was the perfect finish to our evening. They offer a good choice of gluten free options, which we appreciate. Definitely recommend this lively place!!

Delicious!! I had high expectations given reviews from friends and I was not disappointed. I don't think I have ever had a steak cooked quite as perfectly as the one I had here. This is definitely a more upscale restaurant, we went with a 9 year old, and while they don't have a kids specific menu they did make him chicken tenders and fries, which he loved.

Incredible fine dining experience - the food was very thought out and not run of the mill like most restaurants. The service was too notch and the atmosphere was cozy and sophisticated.

We celebrated our 44th Anniversary last night at Foothills Milling and as usual had a wonderful time. The food is always delicious and the presentation is just beautiful. Our server, Jordyn, was a delight. We started with the escargot, served on mushrooms, with a generous amount of butter and garlic. Jordyn bought us our breadbasket a little early in case we wanted to sop up the remaining butter once we finished the escargot. Who wouldn't? I had the Tempura Lobster Tails, served with Jasmine rice and baby green beans. Just wonderful. My wife had the Yankee Pot Roast, which was excellent and so generous she had enough for a lunch today. This is an outstanding establishment and we are blessed to have it in our town.

The steaks are ok but what some restaurants put on their steak when cooking gives me headaches.

Food was AMAZING! Service was even better! We loved the intimate dining room. We came to celebrate our anniversary and they had a tag on our table. We are vegetarian and chose to eat here bc of their vegetarian/vegan menu. THANK YOU for having these options. It's so difficult to find a nice, special restaurant that has these options. Chris was our server and was SPECTACULAR. 10/10 will be back!

I've never really associated Maryville with fine dining, but was glad to have this place recommended to me by my mother, who worked in the area for many years. I had a friend come into town to visit me and wanted to find a nice restaurant to showcase the area and this turned out to fit the bill perfectly. Best parts are that I made a reservation on Resy and the restaurant had a large parking lot so parking wasn't a worry. Dressing is kinda formal for Tennessee but would be considered casual everywhere else, so I wouldn't worry too much. Was seated on time for the reservation. Ambiance was kind of fancy and seemed like a lot of people came for birthdays and anniversaries. The price point reflects that in that $30-60 per entree is not a normal price that most locals can afford often. For the food we got two appetizers and three entrees to try out the different offerings. They also provide some "freebies" like an amuse bouche and a palate cleanser between appetizer and main entree. Goat cheese tart (4/5) - Super tender pastry with goat cheese, bacon, and onion filling. Very nice harmony of flavors. Fried green tomatoes (5/5) - My favorite appetizer! Crispy green tomatoes with a sweet tomato chutney and topped with basil aioli and goat cheese. The sweet, umami, crispy, and tender were great combo of flavors and texture! Short rib stuffed meatloaf (4/5) - Meat loaf was super tender mix of pork and beef with braised short in in the middle. The sweet tomato sauce was the star along with the meat. The truffle mac and cheese I would give a pass because it wasn't particularly cheesy or truffle-y. Pretty much tasted like buttered noodles. Tempura lobster tail (3.5/5) - Lobster is lobster. Tempura battered lobster tails were pretty meaty and the sweet chili sauce was pretty good, but the bed of jasmine rice was a little undercooked. Beef stroganoff (4/5) - The meat again is the star of the dish although the pasta was also really good. The orecchiette pasta has a great texture and the mushroom sauce was perfectly seasoned! The have a sizable dessert menu full of fruit cobblers, shortcake, creme brûlée, cakes etc, but we were stuffed. Sad we had to forgo dessert. Overall, a great restaurant and not just for the area. The portion sizes were very good for the quality service was overall pretty attentive. The meat is the star at this restaurant although they do have a vegetarian menu if meat is not your thing. We were happy diners here and I would definitely come back.

Second time here... i had the cornmeal crusted Mahi Mahi with pimiento cheese grits and collard greens. Mahi Mahi was good, the greens had WAY too many stems and the grits weren't very flavorful. Party of 4 so other items ordered looked good--- for the price I am not impressed!

Omg. This was such an elevated luxurious experience. The truffle fondue was so good we were dipping our bread in it after we finished all the vegetables. It seemed like the food just kept coming. I don't even know what the little fried cheese ball was but that was good, then the appetizer and they brought us bread, then a sorbet to cleanse our palate, then the entree. I was happy to enjoy it that night AND the next day with the leftovers. The lobster was amazing. The rice it was on top of was buttered to perfection. It was definitely different than how lobster is usually served, but the sweet Thai chili sauce really brought it to the next level. The staff were kind and our waitress was great. She was happy to tell us what her favorite dish was and answer any questions we had. 10/10 experience. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Still 5 star. Keep forgetting that this is there in Maryville and in my opinion, the food and experience is better than anything in Knoxville. Let me start with the cocktail: Winter Cosmo. I'm sure this won't be there the next time we make it out there, but I wish they could keep it on the menu and just change the name to fit the season. It was one of the best vodka drinks I've ever had. Appetizer: cheese dip and potatoes (Truffle fondue). Really rich - might have done well to get a lighter starter but it was so good. Fondue style. Mains: Steak & Potatoes and the Scallops over corn. I'll upload photos since they speak for themselves. Like my previous review, stick to what you like and it will be the best [insert choice] you've ever had. Also wanted to note how us hungry people really appreciated the amuse bouche which was basically fried cheese :)

We were welcomed immediately with a smile and a great attitude. Our table was ready and our server was prompt. The restaurant felt like your own home. Very comfortable. Noise level was low and as the place filled with patrons, stayed level. Which is nice. At our table we ordered steak, fish and duck. Everything was cooked well except the duck. It was overdone but still quite good. Highly recommend this place for any occasion.

I came to the beautiful state of Tennessee for a wedding in late October. I stayed at a marvelous AirBnB in Maryville. And on my first night there, I decided to check this place out. It had marvelous reviews across multiple different websites. So I made my reservations and sat down in their cozy, candlelit dining room. We started off with a free little ham and cheese style croquette. So that was nice. It was cute, and it tasted nice. Thennn, I got an app. The Spicy fried Mississippi quail (Served with house made buffalo sauce, shaved celery ranch salad and blue cheese ice cream). This is the reason this place got five stars. I love whoever thought of this. First of all, quail is delicious. Not everyone knows that, and I was a little surprised to see it in Maryville, TN. Anyway, it was fried to perfection, and tossed in that sauce with expert precision. So crispy, and just enough meat for a quail. The play on the regular chicken wings accompaniments was really fun. The celery salad dressed in ranch and the blue cheese ice cream really cut down the minimal heat that the quail put out. This was excellent. Get this. Then came out another freebie. Some sort of lemon sorbet, for a nice palate cleanser. Very nice. For my entree, I couldn't skip the Braised Pork Collar (Served with apple butter bbq sauce, green tomato chowchow, aged cheddar grit cake and braised greens). And I picked correctly. This pork was fall-to-pieces tender. The green tomato chowchow/chutney was a nice, Southern touch. And the grit cake gave you that carb that you needed to sop up the juice and finish off that sauce. This is a unique item, and you need to get this, too. I also got to try the Maple Leaf Farms Duck Two Ways (Seared duck breast cooked to medium beside a pecan and apple smoked leg quarter, served with soft polenta, roasted broccolini, and port cherry reduction). I know, duck is exciting. But you can skip this one. The duck was cooked fine, but the seasoning was a little bland, and the sides were a little uninspired. Don't get me wrong. It wasn't bad. There was just a lot left on that menu that I thought would have been better. Finally, we ended with dessert. A mixed berry galette with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. This thing was HUGE. And it was delicious. Very flakey crust, a ton of berries, and that cool cool vanilla ice cream to make this feel very homey. Overall, this place was very very good. Probably the best place in Maryville. So if you're doing anything here or in nearby Knoxville, give this place a try. You won't regret it.

I visited Foothills Milling over the holidays and immediately fell in love with it. I had what I believe to be the best steak I've ever had. I have been hearing about this place for years, but never took the time to go and now I actively try to get people to go with me every chance I get. It is a high-end dining experiece, but casual dress is okay. I am sure they have kids that dine there, but I would not say it is necessarily "kid friendly." They have a very large variety of food for most preferences and they do an amazing job of accomodating for allergies as much as possible. As someone with celiac I felt very safe eating there.

Food, service and atmosphere! This place is fantastic! You can't go wrong here. Whenever we are close we make plans to visit.

Ate here for my daughter's birthday, and everything was superb! The truffle fondue and ahi tuna appetizers were delicious. We ordered two Filet Mignons, Meatloaf, and the New York strip. All were excellent, as were the sides that came with all the meals. The atmosphere was wonderful, our waiter (Chris) was great. When we were through eating, he told our daughter to pick a dessert for her birthday, and she picked the blueberry cheesecake. I thought it would be free, but he charged us. Oh well! We will know next time.

This restaurant is THE BEST IN Maryville!! Make reservations so you can be sure to eat there. The food, the service is all stellar, I can't wait to be able to go back. Small old style quaint is how I would describe it. The Bartender Eric is AMAZING! Oh, and RIT Lodge and Bella are wonderful, too!

What a wonderful dining experience ‼ When you first walk in, you are greeted by a welcoming and well turned out hostess staff. The tables were beautifully appointed by crisp linen and nice table settings. The chef sent a mis bouche that was excellent. We ordered the scallops as the appetizer. Very well prepared and attractively presented. We then had the Caesar salad which was one of the best I've had My honey had the frutti de mar and I had the fried Lobster tail. Both were extremely tasty. Was looking forward to one of the delicious desserts but alas, too full This place definitely is now a favorite We'll be back!

The best of Tennessee !! We had to order an extra entree as this was our 4th time coming and we couldn't decide ..

We went to Foothills Milling for my birthday end of February. There were 3 couples in our party and we were seated in a small private area away from the main dining area (which made conversation with our friends super easy!). The six of us started in the bar which was busy, loud and packed with people. Standing room only. I ordered an old fashioned while waiting for our table and friends ordered martinis, beer and wine. My cocktail was delicious and there was a good wine selection. Although we made reservations, there was still a 25 minute wait for our table. For dinner I ordered a seafood entree and my husband ordered a $50+ steak. Sadly his steak was tough and is the reason I gave a 4 star rating and not 5. My husband didn't want to ruin the evening by complaining so he didn't send the steak back, but he mentioned it to the server so the chef would be notified. PLEASE NOTE: After posting this review the restaurant manager reached out and offered to send us a gift card for the amount of my husband's steak and we find this gesture very kind!! Updated the stars to 5. We ordered two bottles of wine for our table plus appetizers and the chef gave us a complimentary small plate appetizer at the beginning of the meal. Our server was super attentive and checked on our table frequently throughout the evening. Overall the dining experience was pleasant for all 6 of us and the food quality was good except for the steak. Definitely recommend making reservations, especially if you plan on going on a Saturday night. Every table was full the night we dined.

OMG!!!!!!! This place is an absolute gem. We have been searching for "Charleston-esque " dining in this area. We definitely found it. The ambiance is warm and comfortable and the staff is very welcoming and accommodating. Even the bus staff knew the menu inside and out and were able to answer our questions about the dishes. Bread is served and it's made in house every morning. We started with the scallops appetizer, cooked perfectly and rushed to our table piping hot. I had the Frutti de Mar, over linguine in a very nice marinara sauce. The better half had the Tempura Lobster tails. "Wow!" Is all I can say. Everything was perfectly cooked and served, presentation was excellent. There's a small appetizer included before the appetizer, can't remember what it's was called, but very good, and a small lemon sorbet was served between the appetizer and main course. The desert menu was inviting but by that time we were both too stuffed to consider anything more. As with other restaurants, there is a corkage fee if you bring your own wine, so that's an option if you don't see anything you like on the wine list. Again, a real gem and one of the best that we've found so far here in East Tennessee.

The food was fantastic! My boyfriend ordered a New York strip steak with green beans and some really creamy potatoes. I opted for a Caesar salad with a vinaigrette and the cornbread croutons were simply delicious. The atmosphere was romantic and classy, and everyone was so nice. I received multiple compliments on my prom dress, but what really stood out was our waiter, Joshua. He was bald and was the sweetest server ever. He gave us plenty of time to order and kept our drinks refilled. He continuously checked up on us, and he even sent us home with extra bread, which was amazing. I will definitely be coming back and requesting Joshua's seating area.

Probably the best steak I have ever had!!! The Steak Oscar. Everything had incredible flavor. The okra salad was delicious. The gouda au gratin potatoes and spinach Maria my husband had were EXCELLENT!!!! Great service. Will definitely be back!!

Foothills Milling Company is a true gem of a restaurant. We went there for our anniversary and everything was spectacular!! Food was awesome and the service was excellent! The restaurant itself is in an older historical building which adds to the ambiance.

First off I have to say that our server was very attentive. I am allergic to gluten so the menu did have some gluten free choices for me. I had the duck with grits. The grits were a bit too grainy and dry. The duck was cook several different ways. I felt it was over cooked which made it hard to chew. I may have become a food snob after living in France and New Orleans. I heard so many good things about this restaurant I was excited to go there. I was very disappointed in the food. The server notice I didn't eat much of my dinner and questioned me on it. I gave him my honest opinion and he couldn't believe it. Just because a restaurant is expensive doesn't necessarily make the food great. The server acted like I probably never had duck in my life. Duck was a favorite of mine in Europe and I ate lots of duck while living in France and traveling throughout Europe. Never belittle a customer's opinion. They are your bread and butter.

Hostess was great, Emmy? Emily? Something like that. Only thing memorable about the experience was how great the greeting and first impression was.

Best. Meal. Ever! You will get your money's worth not matter what you get. Amazing service, would recommend Eric. Old historic building with a great atmosphere. Would recommend the blackened grouper or the shrimp and grits but I guarantee you won't find anything you won't like!

The service was excellent. Our waitress Hannah was very nice and attentive. We went it Arlington 4:30 and was seated. The restaurant is very nice and clean as well as the restrooms. The food was excellent, everyone in my party was satisfied.

I truly don't think it's possible to have anything but an amazing experience here. The food has been amazing every time. The servers are wonderful and very knowledgeable of the menu. The prices are high in general but not at all out of line with this type of dining experience. As with everything in the world, folks going here have started dressing a little casual. You will see some jeans and shorts but most folks still get a little dressed up to eat here.

A great place for special occasions for us! The service is wonderful, and the menu had many tasteful delicacies. This will be our recurring go to place for our personal celebrations!

Bad food. Bad service. Horrible ownership. Been in Maryville awhile now and can safely say this is one of the absolute worst places to go.

Heard lots of good things and was excited to try. It's a very dark setting from a lighting standpoint. So much so, I found myself using my cell phone light to read the menu; must be old. Service was engaging and on point. Fancy fried green tomato app was top shelf, as was the crispy quail. Main courses were the grouper (kinda meh), fried lobster tails (which the wife said was super) and I had the duck two ways. The smoked portion was good, but I had to send the breast portion back as it was uncooked. I know it's a fine line and you must serve duck breast rare, but the kitchen was off point on this. I was brought out a new serving and all was good. Superb desserts we had were the crème brûlée and bread pudding. So, it's an experience to eat here. Get ready for an experience which will include unmatched service and possible sticker shock! A must try for special occasions.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here. We were extremely impressed with their menu options with a separate vegan menu. Our server Hannah N. was fabulous! The atmosphere was very relaxing. Side note- the bread and oil is simply amazing and one of our favorite parts!

The entire experience around this restaurant was incredible. Ask the waiter to do something fun for your sides, desserts, etc. Don't even waste your time looking for a better restaurant in Knoxville..

What an absolute gem of a restaurant! While staying in a nearby cabin, Foothills Milling was recommended to us multiple times by the property owner, and it definitely didn't disappoint. My daughter and I went on a whim during the week without a reservation, and were seated within about 5 minutes. I had the Steak Diane, which was so savory, tender, and flavorful. My daughter had the lasagna, which isn't something I'd necessarily order at a fine dining restaurant, but it was delicious! Our server was very attentive, and we only had to wait maybe 20 minutes or so for the food to come out. Finer dining at a reasonable price point, amazing staff, and wonderful food! Foothills Milling is absolutely at the top of our list when we return in the fall.

We are a small town with lots of chain restaurants, Bojangles McDonald's Burger King Hardee's Wendy's, and this one stands out like a beautiful flower in the desert! The food is good and the service is excellent. While it may not stand up to Miami, Chicago, New York, Boston, Houston, San Francisco, and the lake, it is the best we have and I love it!
