A fairly sizable (65 acres) and historical cemetery located in the heart of Ann Arbor.
The first burial of the over 19,000 in total was Dr. Benajah Ticknor a former Navy surgeon in 1959. The cemetery is aesthetically pleasing with its rolling topography and plenty of shade trees.

Forest Hills Cemetery in Ann Arbor, Michigan is a very large cemetery. It is a rural, garden Cemetery that was established in 1857.Walking through the cemetery you can respectfully admire the ornate gravestones, many of while will qualify as cemetery art. I was also impressed with the number of old and stately trees that are prominent throughout the Cemetery. Forest Hill is the final resting place of a number of Notable people including Governor Alpheus Felch and Hall of Fame University of Michigan Football Coach Glenn “Bo” Schembechler. Forest Hills is a beautiful well maintained Cemetery.

Beautiful cemetery. Some U of M Legends laid to rest. Saw deer here early in the morning.

Absolutely beautiful cemetery - especially for a nice walk in the fall. The trees are so many different colors, it's almost unreal. Be prepared to endure steep hills on your walk. Maintained really nicely and is a great historical location for Ann Arbor.

Convenient location only a stone's throw away from campus with a variety of unit options. Was hoping to see some ghosties 👻, but the friendly staff guy (thanks mr. angeles!!! 🫶) said they were on sabbatical *sigh*. I did get to see a wild squirrel tho so it was totes worth it! 😽
You WILL get wet so def bring a poncho!!!

Recent burial that was planned more than two weeks in advance. Burial service was delayed for more than 25 min as the cemetery staff had not placed the cement grave liner. There were only rough wood planks around the grave hole. No artificial turf carpet and no tent despite snow flurries. I have been to many winter burials in northern USA and Canada. I can’t account for why this gravesite was not adequately prepared in this particular well known cemetery. Really unthoughtful to mourning family

large cemetery well maintained and lots of history to see. Tons of construction in Ann arbor while we were visiting so it took some rerouting and configuring to find an open entrance

Yelp
I wandered over here one day while walking at the Arb next door. You know, in the 1800s there was a real push to create garden cementaries like this one, where families picniced on the weekends and treated them basically like parks. Forest Hill is great for quiet walks and contemplation, I think I'd skip the bbq or picnic basket. This particular cemetery is where the civil war monument is located (moved here from the lawn of the old court house in the 1950's). Football fans will be interested to know that Bo Schembechler is buried here.

Yelp
History buffs must spend some time here among the graves of Ann Arbor's former residents. I'm not really fond of cemeteries, but the atmosphere in this one has a certain appeal, a connectedness, in the way it's adjoined to the Arb.

Yelp
Umm, kinda werided out reviewing a CEMETARY, but yes, it's kinda cool in here. Being a nerdy history buff, I used to love taking my runs around here and stopping here and there to hypothesize about the demise of the departed buried here. Yes, I am weird, but it's really kinda fun.
