I had a wonderful stay at the Forest Motel. We stayed in room 3 of the bed and breakfast. The room was clean and fresh. The hot tub was pleasant. There were many different amenities that the kids could enjoy like riding bikes and playing basketball. The breakfast provided had a good variety of options. Everything was delicious. The staff were all quite friendly and helpful. We got recommendations for things to do in the area.

Great place to stay! Exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the aptly named Canadian Suite which had everything we needed. The hot tub was amazing. The bed super comfortable. The place was large and very clean. We really appreciated the decor, robes and kitchenette. Definitely recommend this charming family owned spot!

Quiet and clean, friendly staff and breakfast was a good way to start the day (homemade muffins, cereal, boiled eggs, fresh fruit, bagels, toast, coffee, tea). It was easy to find and close to town but felt like we were miles away. We stayed in a king room and their off season prices were very reasonable. A good mix of modern conveniences and personal touches (books and magazines in the room, microwave popcorn, umbrellas, etc). We would love to come back in a different season to explore the other amenities like canoes and bikes. Thanks for a great weekend!

We rented one of the units in the McCarthy cabin for a Thursday night. It is away from the main building and we got lucky, there was no one in the other side of the cabin! It was very private and quiet. They have bikes & canoes you can use for free. Everything is super clean and it is an absolutely amazing escape from the city. The hot tub was hot, the fridge got our drinks cold and the BBQ cooked our steaks just right!! We also checked out their campfire - next time I'll bring marshmallows!

Excellent motel! The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, real cottage feel to them. Beautiful location, nice and secluded feeling. Breakfast was fantastic. Only issue is next to train tracks, but only becomes a problem if your trying to sleep in. Highly recommended and will stay again if in the area.

We love this place! And have returned year after year. The rooms are like a muskoka resort. Beautiful grounds with walking trails , resident swans and their babies. Free canoes, bikes and an amazing breakfast that is included in your room rate. You can see the pride the owners take in their business.

Such a beautiful place we enjoyed our walk along the various trails and tandem bike rides. The outdoor fireplace was so amazing and it made the experience all the more better. We will definitely be back in the winter to experience even more outdoor fun!

Lovely, family run and family friendly place with nice rooms and amazing perks. They have a boat house and a bicycle shed, both of which are free to guests, and a lovely pond with a ton of wildlife. Stratford plays are an easy bike ride away, and they have a generous and varied included breakfast.

Yelp
I am a city girl who has never gone camping. I love the concrete jungle and anything outside of it is unfamiliar and sometimes unwelcome. This beautiful motel is a bit of paradise. It made me turn off my phone and look up at the sky. The rooms here are a throwback to old school motel but it is very clean and comfortable and fully equipped with what you might need. Kim, the owner, is such a lovely host that you can't help but feel immediately relaxed when she greets you. She radiates friendliness and verve. They have a tiny lake that you could swim in, which is a tiny ecosystem housing 2 swans, 2 herons, ducklings and lots of lily pods. It is so peaceful. The patio garden has been laid out in the most comfortably cunning way, with 2 areas for outdoor fire and thoughtfully grouped patio furniture for maximum relaxation and coziness. Each set of outdoor patio has expectation of comfort and some privacy. We stayed at the guest house, which had a glorious salt water hot tub. That hot tub melted all of my neck and shoulder pain. There is nothing like immersing in effervescently warm water while you have a perfect view of the moon over the lake and hundreds of stars. In the evenings, we went to the outdoor fireplace and made honest to goodness smores. I was on a cooked only by open fire diet and I loved it. The room has a kitchenette and grill, which allowed us to cook most of our meals. There are trails around the resort, which you could walk safely any time of the day. f you feel quite active you have access to bikes and boats at no additional cost. There is a boat shed stocked with every imaginable nostalgic outdoor game. I grabbed the hula hoop and kept my waistline busy on it the whole weekend. This is a perfect transition for me if we ever go camping. The great thing is that it is only a couple miles away from a food and beer store and the culture of Stratford. I was loathe to go for supplies since all I wanted to do was lounge and be lazy. This place really lets you recharge your batteries if you let it. Sit back and grab some continental breakfast and let nature give you a big embrace. Truly a woodland retreat. I think this will be our yearly retreat.

Yelp
We read the reviews and were sucked in! I've been in larger bathrooms in motor homes. I had to sit outside to use my computer, the Wi-Fi would not work in the room. Then there were the trains. A grade crossing less then a football field away at which all trains blasted their horns made sleeping a bit difficult. The Inn suggested turning on the AC to drown out the noise but it was so loud we couldn't here the TV! Considering the price was the same as the major hotels in the area we will go back there next year and enjoy the quiet.

Yelp
Amazing place, im not really sure why more people arent aware of this hidden paradise. Im from Toronto and I love nature, but this is totally different. Just a tip, this place got completely renovated! Flatscreen tv's in the rooms, keurig coffee makers, incredibly comfy beds, renovated bathroom, new bikes, just overall a wonderful place. Breakfast is complimentary, and delicious! The staff is so nice, always greeting people with a smile, and making conversation. The only bad thing that can be said about this place is that their are train tracks near the motel, and every few hours a train comes by, but it really isnt bothersome. Really, im not sure why people stay at higher up hotels, this is not only a beautiful motel, but it is a place that will create even better memories during your stay in stratford. There is a small private lake, where you can canoe, kayak, fish, swim, paddleboat, and enjoy yourself! I've come here every summer for 4 years, and I wont stop coming back. Great for people of any age. 10/10 !!!!!!!!!
