We were so excited to visit this factory, but the tour ended up being a bit of a disappointment (for us personally-speaking). The space is small and there were quite a few of us so it was a bit crammed with everyone jockeying to see the knife-making process. Also, heads up that the tour is only in French, which one of us can understand pretty well, but not enough to follow along with technical knife-making terms. We ended up giving up half way through since we weren't getting that much out of it. Still, the workshop is something special to see and is definitely worth a visit if you're super into knives.
We ended up spending an unholy amount of money on a knife set there because the knives really are such works of art. We know that we will cherish them for special occasion use and look back fondly on Laguiole, which is a truly magnificent place in France. FYI that there are many other stores in the village that you can shop at it if you don't want to buy from the factory directly.
