A new year and a new start, a new Format Café, is it to be labeled as so, as the titular would suggest?
Positioned within the historical walls of the Design Museum of Denmark, in its centenary year.
Overlooking the courtyard the room is idyllic. It would seem the space has had a makeover. Warm lighting, framed prints, crockery and cutlery all fresh out or their bubble wrap.
The museum a celebration of Danish culture and art. the menu is a reflection, that doesn’t stray too far away. What I consumed was all very delicious and presentable.
However, there was a disorderly scrum around the counter. One had to negotiate the terms of how I was to receive my order. To sit and wait to be called, then retrieve your food. A perfunctory approach.
The dishes carry a heft in monetary terms which shortens my quota for nourishment. At these prices one would expect meals to be brought to your table.
