Came to this amazing unique shop to have a fedora worked on. Olivia delivered amazing service and even blessed us with important information. If you’re looking for any hat, this is the place to be. Enjoy! And thanks again Olivia

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hats Off to Formé Millinery—Literally. You know a place is next level when you walk in thinking, “Maybe I’ll just browse,” and walk out mentally planning an entire outfit around your new, show-stopping hat. 🎩✨ Formé Millinery isn’t just a hat shop—it’s a workshop of wearable art. Every piece is handcrafted, perfectly designed, and so stunning it makes you wonder why you ever left the house without a hat. Seriously, I put one on and suddenly felt like I should be sipping champagne at the Kentucky Derby or starring in an old Hollywood film. 🎥🥂 The quality?? Impeccable. These aren’t fast fashion, mass-produced hats—these are heirloom-level, jaw-dropping, statement pieces. Whether you need a hat for a big event, a casual slay, or just to feel 10x cooler in your everyday life—Formé has the one for you. And let’s talk about the owner, Jenny—because she’s an actual icon. 👏 Friendly, insanely talented, and truly an expert in her craft. She doesn’t just sell hats—she creates them, customizes them, and makes sure you walk out feeling like your most confident, stylish self. Final thoughts: Formé Millinery is not just a store—it’s an experience. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and GO. Try something on. Fall in love with a hat. Thank me later. 🎩💃🔥

Hand crafted hats. Owner of business makes the hats herself. She uses the traditional wooden forms. True craft and artistry. Meeting the owner and seeing her shop really gave me an appreciation for these hats and fascinators.

When we typed.in custom hats this shop was on the list. We didn't buy any but I don't regret going. It was such a beautiful shop. There were hats to purchase ready to wear. And I actually thought some of the custom options were reasonably priced.

This is one of the most unique shops in Louisville. If you are looking for an amazing handmade hat. You wouldn't find a better quality and unique hat anywhere. Jenny is simply an artist and makes Millinery look like art. The shop is fascinating and beautiful. Do yourself a favor and make a trip to Formé!

I have a collection of Formé hats...or should I say works of art. Whether you choose a ready to wear or a custom design it is clear Jenny has put her design signature on your choice. You can start with your occasion, your dress or your idea Jenny will bring it to life....Go to her showroom and have fun. You still wear your hat with confidence!!!

Hands down the best place to buy a custom hat. When you walk into the Forme Millinery hat shop, it is like you walk right into the 1940s! She styles everyone from celebrities to people like me who are just interested in looking like one :). Jenny was named the Official Milliner of the Kentucky Derby Museum several years ago and has a plaque in the Museum at Churchill Downs. It's so neat if you haven't seen it! My favorite hats are ones from her braid machine from the 1800s or her big brims. She has been in more magazines than you can count and you might be even lucky enough to buy a hat that was featured in a magazine spread. She is the real deal...make sure to get your custom orders for Derby in as soon as possible. She is one BUSY lady and you don't want to miss out on all the fun! This lady is really in high demand. She styles for Vineyard Vines, Universal Studios (just to name a few), and her hats are all over - Von Mar, Dillard's, all the posh hotels in downtown Louisville. Jenny is a published author of millinery (check out her book, The Making of a Milliner), has made flat hat patterns for McCalls on several occasions, AND she also offers amazing hat making classes which would be such a fun girls' night out event. I'm from out of town so when I visit Louisville, I always pick up a new hat from Forme! Her hat shop is one of my favorite places to visit!

Yelp
I am so glad I found Forme Millinery, I found Jenny while searching for a Milliner / Hatter. I needed a new leather sweat band as the one in my hat had deteriorated as did the thread holding it. Jenny was very responsive with questions for me to make and initial assessment and answers to my questions. With me being from central Ohio my Wife and I made a weekend trip to Louisville. Jenny was able to replace the sweatband, Remove a plastic liner and resize it just a little bit in a day. I now wear it daily and is my favorite go to hat. When I first found Forme Millinery I though there is no way I can afford such a famous and high esteemed Milliners work. I was wrong she was absolutely fair in pricing. When ever I need work or a new hat Forme Millinery will b E where I go.

Yelp
Jenny Pfanenstiel is an amazing and talented artist. The hats she creates not only are one-of-a-kind beautiful works of art but are truly made by hand with the greatest of care. It has been a pleasure to watch her business grow over the years, especially with the move to Louisville where she opened her beautiful store. She is quickly becoming a pillar in the Louisville community, and has garnered attention from the media and celebrities alike. Jenny not only works hard to further the art of millinery, but pushes the envelope with her creativity, and has introduced the field to many new audiences. I own several of her hats and receive compliments on them every time I wear one.

Yelp
The owner is beyond rude. I came interested in a hat and left interested in never coming back. She has a serious attitude problem. Don't waste your time with her or give your business to such a classless woman.

Yelp
While planning my April 2019 visit to Louisville, I read about Jenny and her Formé Millinery hat shop/studio. I also watched a YouTube interview with her and decided I wanted to meet her! We had a little trouble finding her shop at 1860 Mellwood Ave -- I called and spoke to her from the car twice. She was very patient and friendly directing us. Once I arrived, I explained why and how I heard about her and that I don't wear hats but just wanted to meet her and see her hats and studio. She was so nice and took time from her busy day to chat with me for several minutes. It was a lovely part of the day. When I mentioned I was hungry and had not yet tried the famed Hot Brown sandwich, I asked for her recommendations to eat somewhere nearby. She suggested the Hot Brown Pizza at the place next door. That was the best pizza we ever had and that staff was very friendly too. Thank you Jenny for taking the time to chat with me and congratulations on being selected for the Burch Foundation Fellows Program. You are a very special woman, Milliner, Author, Educator, and so much more!
