Great library! Very spacious and reading/working room was only 20% full. Staff is nice

Recently restored to its former glory, this is now a specialist library of art . The outside is absolutely stunning - looks newly built but is actually a medieval structure. Very beautiful.

I often passed by the Hotel de Sens' garden near the métro Pont Marie but I never thought it was something special. Little did I know it has a Fashion library. I followed a friend who works in Fashion who went there to give back some books and magazines, this is how I got to know. I couldn't visit it properly due to time constriction but I believe it is worth to visit during day time with the garden and consult the archives too. We chatted with someone from the reception (in French) and he shared some tips about old remarkable archives about the plans of some of the monuments in Paris that people can check. A little hidden treasure to explore next time!

I spent some time in the gardens, laid out in 1957,but the building itself is from a rebuild between 1475 and 1519. A previous hôtel had stood since 1345, which was used by Charles V before he moved to the Louvre.

Beautiful library. Near to pont mary metro station. See this just outside is mandatory, but if you have time enter to the lecture spaces is free (you need a photo and ID), and the inscription allow you to enter to a lot of historical libraries in Paris. I'm really sorry to not discovered it before.

Amazing art library, I can’t even imagine that it could be so good. You can take the books for 4 weeks (updated)

Even though they didn’t speak good English, the librarians were incredibly helpful, nice, respectful, and helped me get a library card with no issues. The library has a very big collection of books on art of any kind and I enjoyed a good 4 hours sitting there reading and working.
