Forno Balat, İstanbul 'un En İyi Kahvaltı, Lahmacun ve Pizza & Pide Mekanları, Sizinle!

Believe it or not........ this was the best Pizza I have had in all of Europe and the Americas... And I'm a new Yorker who spends my winters in southern Italy . I'm a pizza lover. But this is a different level. I know they call it pide... You would never think to eat it in Turkey but it was the best I ever had . The meat on the pizza was not processed. It was farm to table . This taste and the tenderness. Wow . I was in shock. They had one waiter who spoke in English and was very kind to me. I loved how homely it is there the kitchen is open and right there like if your eating at your grandmother's house at her kitchen table. But a big place split into two sides. The locals sent me here. No regrets except I wish I came back for the pasta and burgers.

Such a beautiful discovery in Balat! ✨ The atmosphere is warm and cozy, with a very familiar vibe that makes you feel right at home. The hostess was extremely kind and helpful, even suggesting the best food combinations for the perfect experience. Everything is prepared fresh on the spot, super tasty and full of flavor. Locally centered and authentic, it really feels special. Definitely don’t miss the apricot soufflé, it was amazing! Everyone here is so welcoming, and I’d absolutely come back again.

It was one of the best experiences!!! We went there to have a Turkish kahvaltı, and we liked it a lot. There is an open buffet and you can have as much as you want, for a good price!! And they have lovely and very tasty food!!! I definitely suggest you to try everything, and especially pişi with tahini or honey or Nutella. Or try menemen with salad and ball cheese. And of course börek!! Everything was amazing!!! Thank you so much for that experience ❤️

During our guided tour of Fatih, Fener, and Balat, we stopped at Forno Balat for lunch, and it was an excellent choice! The service was warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious—highly recommended if you're in the area. Their homemade lemonade is simply outstanding—refreshing and full of flavour! The flat pizza was perfectly balanced, light yet incredibly tasty. But the real star was their unique apricot soufflé—just wow! A must-try dessert. We ended our meal with traditional Turkish tea and coffee, the perfect way to wrap up a fantastic dining experience. Definitely a place worth visiting!

Stopped at this family owned restaurant in Balat and ordered a Lahmacun. It’s like a crispy ‘pizza base’ with a spicy mince topping, and is served with fresh lemon wedges which you squeeze over the topping before rolling it to eat. It was incredible! Made in a traditional wood burn oven, this was most definitely the best Lahmacun I had tasted in Istanbul. Definitely give this place a try.

The breakfast selection was exceptional, with a wide variety of delicious homemade jams to accompany one of the best croissants I may have ever had. The croissants themselves were light and flaky, and baked to perfection. The freshness of the ingredients and the attention to detail in their preparation was evident in every bite. In addition to the delectable food, the coffee was simply perfect. The servers at Forno clearly take pride in their craft, creating a robust and flavorful cup of coffee that complemented the breakfast perfectly. What truly set Forno apart, however, was the exceptional service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, providing helpful recommendations and ensuring that every customer's needs were met. The attention to detail and personal touch made for an unforgettable dining experience. Overall, Forno is a fantastic restaurant that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable breakfast experience. With delicious food, excellent coffee, and exceptional service, Forno is definitely worth a visit. The weekend buffet style breakfast looks like a must try and I will definitely be going back for the pizzas.

Clean beautiful restaurant with fresh baked breads and delicious homemake lemonade. We are a pide with cheese and tomato (custom ordered), a vegetarian pizza, a arugula salad, and the customary ayran and lemonade. And, if you come, get the kayisili özel sufle for dessert - apricot soufflé that is amazing to die for!!
