Forrest General Store

This is a nice place to visit. The coffee is good, the food was okay but not a wide variety to choose from. The store in general has a nice vibe, but I can relate to other reviews in regards to the service (could be way better).

Pulled up to grab a bag of chips and an iced coffee, my mistake.... Left with a very tasty home made sausage roll with home made chutney and a mint/chocolate slice. The store at Forrest is very understated. Thankyou to the pleasant staff and proprietor for providing an excellent reason to sit at the table and rest. I recommend everybody stop and check it out.

I had an awesome experience here! The coffee was amazing, the food hit the spot, and the service? Absolutely top-notch! I found myself in a bit of a jam with my car, and the staff and/or owner went above and beyond to help me out. Super friendly and really made my day! Highly recommend!

Food and coffee is generally pretty good. We came everyday while camping. The little muffin that soured our experience started off innocuously. Our friend ordered the spiced apple muffin and it was quite inedible. It felt like someone had dropped a bag of baking powder into the mixture. The after-taste was as bitter as gall. The real treat was bringing the muffin back to inform them of the mistake. The retort from the lady making the coffee was perhaps an embodiment of the muffin itself. While she offered to swap the muffin, the attitude she said it with made us feel really unwanted there. In short, coffee is good, food could be good or inedible. Service is.. Meh. Don't expect them to appreciate your business.

This could be a great little shop, but it has that sad feeling of a lack of care. One person sitting down in the kitchen, when there's plenty of things that could be being done out front.. a nice, shy boy at the front counter trying hard, but obviously no training or mentoring on hospitality skills. No bins, needs sweeping out the front, grocery room is really tragic.. empty apart from a few tired things and a sign saying 'Smile you're on camera', [maybe everything has been stolen?] Egg and bacon roll is heaps of fluffed up scramble, to cut costs and a tiny piece of bacon, chutney and cheese , microwaved.. sounds way better than it was. While I was there a customer came in to ask what something was and the kitchen person didn't even bother getting off her stool and just yelled out an answer from the kitchen. The customer said thanks and bye, nobody even acknowledged him, just silence, which is pretty rude. The owner should be in there, taking pride in their business.. even if it is Sunday. Maybe that was the owner..Try harder guys.

Superb. Stopped after a long drive (in between stops) and got a coffee and a smartie cookie which considering how far in the middle of nowhere we were it was outstanding. Put this place on your must do list for quick stops in 'country vic'.

Good place to stop for lunch, though we enjoyed a limited choice on our visit just prior to Christmas. Enjoyed a great coffee with our lunch in the small garden setting next to the store.

Amazing coffee! They even have a variety of vegan plant milks. Downside is the only vegan they had was a brownie, which was delicious.
