Forstbaumschule Restaurant u. Parkcafé

I went here with my husband and mother-in-law. Both are German so could communicate really easy with the staff. We arrived between the breakfast/lunch change over and were offered the choice of which one we wanted and decided to have lunch, assuming there wouldn’t be much of the breakfast buffet left. We ordered water, 2 x Fritz-Kola, 2 x Fischpfanne ‘Gorch Fock’ for myself and my husband which had pieces of fish fillet, shrimp, roast potatoes and fried egg. My mother-in-law had scrambled eggs with shrimp. The waitresses and waiters were very friendly, although initially a bit slow. The food tasted nice but was rather oily, especially the potatoes, they weren’t roasted as advised on the menu, but more fried and not drained well at all so they weren’t very crisp either. Overall the food tasted nice but wasn’t the best in terms of cooking quality. The atmosphere was good, lovely surroundings as well, just a shame smoking is still permitted at the outdoor seating.

A beautiful cafe in the middle of the park. Offers both indoor and outdoor seating area. Would recommend choosing the outdoor seating area as you can see the beautiful park. We ordered the lunch special - salmon, as well as hot chocolate and waffle. While the salmon was disappointing (quite bland), the hot chocolate and waffles were delicious. The service staff were very friendly too. Would visit again next time at night to chill

It's one of those places you have to visit in Kiel during summer. Nice seat arrangement both inside and outside, quick service and tasty food. We ordered pulled pork burger 🍔 and Scandinavian fire salmon, waffle with cherry, they were really tasty and well made. Definitely recommend.

A nice place with outdoors and indoors seating. The service is nice and fast, the food is good, and the location is amazing.sometimes they even have a live band in the outdoors area, but there is a defined schedule for that. Animal friendly place. And they also have English menu.

Wunderbar! A Restaurant in the forest with an old german building where you can eat indoors in a cozy environment. The only thing disturbing is the loud volume. The food was great and not too expensive. When the weather is warm there's a big beer garden and also playgrounds nearby. You can even watch football games in the Bier Garten. There's nearby parking and it's easy to reach. I will definitely come again.

We went there for lunch with our dog. Lovely food and ambience! Very authentic! Would go back again.

Drinks were nice and reasonable price and waitress was friendly. Outside smelt strongly of cigarettes though which was a downer. Pretty location though!

Can I please just say Ewwwww~! And what in the world?!! First off our pizza had ham in it despite specifically stating we were vegetarians, so could they please make sure there was no meat of any kind in that pizza. Then a long hour of waiting, and lo and behold, the pizza had ham in it, so we had to send it back! Then, my iced peach tea had bloody MOLD!!! Seriously?!!! I get that a lot of restaurants were closed forever! But how on earth can you serve MOLDY tea?!!! Ugh~! I didn't even see it until I finished half of it! And I have anosmia, so I can't technically smell or taste things, so didn't see it until half my glass later! I am sooooo disgusted!!! Nary an apology, AND, they still charged me!!! I am never going back again!!! This place has really gone down the drain. If I fall ill in the next two days, I am going to sue them for my hospitalization!
