We had a beautiful family picnic at Fort Adams State Park and absolutely loved it! The open green space was perfect for the kids to run around and fly kites, and the ocean views made the whole experience feel so peaceful and refreshing. It’s a great mix of natural beauty and open space, and everything felt clean and safe. The fresh air, calm surroundings, and family-friendly vibe made it a memorable outing. Parking was easy, and the walking paths are well-maintained. Definitely a must, visit if you’re in Newport!

You can feel the history here. The revolution! I've been inside the fort on Halloween and you can imagine firing cannons at British ships. This Memorial Day, to honor our troops, they had boots on the ground for fallen soldiers. Very moving! The wall of the fort has been off limits for years but was open this day and was even better than down below, in the tunnels. This is also the home of the Newport Jazz and Folk festival every summer which I highly recommend!

Experienced Fort Adams during this years Newport Jazz Fest. It was my first time in. R.I. and as a visitor to Ft. Adams. The weather is July was perfect. Photo worthy backdrops abound in this park with or without a festival. Highly recommend.

great stop on the tour! They do a really nice Memorial Day event called boots on the ground. Incredible views from the grass area of the bridge and harbour. Was so much fun on the bike tour.

Fort Adams is a great place to spend a few hours connecting with history and nature. There is a large walking area, great views, tours, and other stunning sights. They just had a sobering display of Boots on the Ground for Memorial Day.

Went there for a school field trip all the way from Connecticut, and it was really cool. We were tunnel rats, crawling through the listening tunnel, walked around, saw the cannons, and the living quarters. Would highly recommend.

Very cool fort and they have some interesting tours too! They even feature haunted tours around Halloween. The area around the fort is gorgeous! Be sure to do the 2 mile Bay Walk all the way around and by the Eisenhower House!

Unexpected highlight of our trip! We had an excellent time with our tour guide BJ who was knowledgeable, kind, funny and entertaining. Easy to traverse, encouraged to ask questions, and everyone was included in the parts of the tour considered interactive. Highly recommend. The tunnels were a blast!
