Excellent location close in the Fort close to the ramparts. Easy to walk and explore. Swimming by the Lighthouse about 5 minutes' walk away. Bed clean and comfortable. Hosts kind and accommodating. Food available but we were out and about and ate as we went. Interesting busy street by day but quiet all night after 9pm.

The staff is very welcoming and has been attentive to our requests — they kindly kept our luggage until the afternoon after we missed our train. The room is simple but spotlessly clean, with a large bed equipped with a mosquito net, some storage space for clothes, and a safe. The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast is delicious, and it’s very convenient to enjoy it on the terrace with a view of the sea. This guesthouse is well located within the fort, close to shops and amenities.

Cute place We took the whole place for ourselves. I think all four rooms . It’s ok for an overnight stay not for long . One issue is that outside people can come and sit in the balcony Infront of your room and have their drinks etc . Just next to your room ! They should only be allowed in the restaurant area To keep your privacy . Food is good but one of us got sick for four days because this dinner in this place . Nice place to walk around . Have an umbrella with you always :)

We spent two nights in Galle and stayed in this beautiful old guest house within the fort. The rooms whilst average sized are very clean with good Airton which is reasonably quiet. Bathroom is excellent with a good shower It is so relaxing to sit on the balcony outside your room or on the top floor in the bar/ restaurant and watch the locals play cricket in the wide open green area to the front. Also watch the peacocks, squirrels and monkeys running around. The real gem in Fort Dew is Nais who will attend your every need and beyond. His pancakes for breakfast are to die for, best in Sri Lanka and the tuna dinner was excellent. Nais give us an in depth insight into Sri Lanka , its politics, Buddhism, and the way of life of the people. The cool beers after a hot day on the streets are just perfect. An excellent place and extremely reasonably priced.

A beautiful old house. Though the building is very old but so well maintained that it seems a newly built house on old model. The interior is well decorated with old fashioned furniture but everything is sparkling like brand new. The entire house, rooms and bathroom are very clean. There is a beautiful decorated balcony with swing, chairs and tables, where you can sit and have a coffee with a view of the street in front. Nice restaurant on the top floor of the hotel. Breakfast is provided there. The breakfast has a fixed menu but there are various options to choose from. If you wish to stay overnight in Galle, I would say it is better to stay inside the fort. The atmosphere of Galle Fort is completely different from any other city. But for those who prefer a very quiet and peaceful environment, the environment of the fort will not suit them and most of the hotels in the fort are in very crowded places, inside small alleys, in a slightly dark environment. Compared to that, this hotel is in a very empty environment. Big open space in front. Very close to the main gate of the fort. Street view from the balcony is nice. I liked it.

I only went for a lunch here but the fried rice was delicious! Quite unexpectedly the best I had on my 4 week trip in Sri Lanka, with a great view and away from the crowds. Recommended!

Lovely stay and fantastic location within Galle fort. We loved sitting on the swinging chairs, having a beer and watching the locals play cricket opposite. Room clean and had everything you need, including a fridge and a hairdryer. Highly recommend, great value for money.

Nice, little quaint place. Simple & basic rooms which have a fridge & small safe. Clean & comfy bed with mosquito netting. Aircon works well. Nice balcony area where you can sit & watch the world go by. Easy 2 minute walk to the parapet to watch the sunset. Restaurant upstairs which was closed for renovations while we were there. Room can get a bit noisy as it is alongside the main vehicle route around the town. Nowhere to place your bags, they j7st have to lie on the floor. Price is average for the area. Breakfast not included. Wifi was good & steady. No reception area, just went to the restaurant on the roof.
