A very great place for your to learn about Alberta’s own history and the history about Edmonton and how it become capital city of Alberta. The staff inside there is role play in different era and dress accordingly. They are knowledgeable and explain to us what they represent. It’s divided by era and you can either walk or take steam train which is highly recommended to walk from early era to modern times. Very fantastic place to visit in summer as they closed in winter times. Parking is easy with big parking lot. Recommend to purchase ticket in advance.

We visit at least twice a year and the kids (and us) love it. It’s beautifully maintained and cared for and all the experiences feel authentic. Highlight of the park is always going on the train with the animals and Fairground close behind. With the kids being so young we stay for around 3 hours but as they grow and become more curious I can see that doubling. I also really appreciate facilities that allow you to bring food in. With the kids it’s important to get what you need when you need it and not just rely on what you can buy.

Fort Edmonton Park is such a fun and educational place to visit with family! It’s the perfect spot to spend the whole day exploring, learning, and enjoying time together. There are so many activities and experiences for kids, which makes it an exciting trip for them while also being interesting for adults. From history and culture to interactive exhibits and fun rides, there’s something for everyone. A great place to make lasting memories—I highly recommend it!

Get an early start, you need about 5 to 6 hours to see everything without being rushed. I recommend waiting in line and taking the train from the entrance to the back of the park then walk your way back to the start, the queues and wait for the steam train are the longest, approximately 30min. If you're with young kids the games will be at the end which will keep them interested rather than doing it first. The food shop serves excellent food but can take a while with limited seating, there are seats outdoors, get someone to order while someone gets a table, don't wait for your food then look for a table. After lunch you can use the tram to get between attractions rather than walk. Most games and rides are free except the pony ride.

recently visited Fort Edmonton Park, and it was an amazing experience! This living history museum takes you back in time to explore Edmonton’s past in a truly interactive way. There are different time periods represented — from the 1846 Hudson’s Bay Fort to the 1920s — each with authentic buildings, costumed interpreters, and lots of hands-on activities. I especially enjoyed walking through the 1905 street with its old shops, vintage cars, and even a real working streetcar. The Indigenous Peoples Experience was very moving and educational — it’s a beautifully presented space that helps you understand Indigenous history and culture. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and everything was very well organized. It’s a perfect place for families, history lovers, or anyone looking for something unique to do in Edmonton. I highly recommend visiting Fort Edmonton Park!

Just visited Fort Edmonton and I have to say, the new upgrades are awesome! It’s like taking a walk through time. The steam train ride around the park is super cool—really gets you thinking about what it was like for people back then, traveling long distances by train. The Fort itself gives you a glimpse into what life was like during the fur trade days, with old-style buildings and setups. One of the best parts is the actors—they stay in character and chat with visitors, which makes the whole experience feel real and fun. If you’re into history or just want something different to explore, this place is definitely worth checking out!

A wonderful place to go back in time and learn about the city's history! The train ride and street car ride was an exciting experience that no one should miss. It takes a whole day to cover all the places. For those who love learning history and spend time with family and friends, this is the best place! You can use ETS bus to reach there as well. There are places to dine and have drinks/snacks.

Amazing park! I can't believe this is within the city limits! The park is clean and well laid out. The map handout is great to navigate. I recommend taking the train right at the entrance, go to the fort and walk back through the entire park. The indigenous museum was so nice. A sad history that needs to be told! It is so huge! I could have spent an hour or 2 there just reading and looking at everything. The old buildings have great history. Some are the original buildings moved from downtown Edmonton. There are plaques outside each one to tell the history and original locations. I spent four hours there. An awesome experience! Oh, there's a model train exhibit that is so cool!
