Yelp
Fort Hamilton is my neighborhood for over 20 years. I love my community, patronize as many restaurants, libraries, markets, parks, etc. The important word is community, neighbors look out for neighbors and there is a wonderful vibe here. We have an abundance of parks; Shore Road, Leif Erickson, John Paul Jones and Owl's Head to name a few. Great for families to enjoy a day at the park. Our community outreach is top notch; Salvation Army, Bay Ridge Community Center. Our schools also are impactful, Fort Hamilton High, Xaverian, William McKinley Our restaurants offer diversity from Italian ( Campania, Brooklyn Roots) to Indian ( Mint Bay) to Mexican ( Coszcal de Allende) to Chinese ( Rose Bowl); these are a few of my favorites. If you love to golf Dyker Heights is a great place to tee off as well as utilize as a venue for special events. And our City Councilman, Justin Brennan and Senator Andrew Gounardes always have Bay Ridgians' best interests at heart. Today as a community we gathered to remember our veterans who served via the 158th Memorial Day parade. I'm sharing some photos from today to show how strong our community is in Fort Hamilton. If you haven't visited Bay Ridge, please come and Welcome!

Yelp
Come here a few times a year. Usually for military supplies. Everything else has the same prices as a department store. Sometimes, even MORE expensive... The service is alright, nothing worth noting. Lines can get long. I never really see more than 2 cashiers going -- it moves fast, though. I've also used the facility's gym. It's pretty nice... I was surprised. Clean, neat, not noisy and not busy. Just how I like it. You need a military ID to get in. If you bring a civilian as a guest, make sure they have their ID on them to use the gym. I like this place because it's pretty clean and updated compared to other places I've been to.

Yelp
Visited PX today at about 1700 with a pack list a mile long - Kelsey, I think his name was, helped me out a TON in the military section. Possibly the cheeriest retail guy I've ever met (and speaking from experience - retail can be quite the Oof). Bravo, good sir. This was a solid shopping experience.

Yelp
I went to a family diner at this fort couple nights and I have to say for having only one waiter the food was not up to par cold we waited three hours to never get what we ordered and another 2 just to get our main meal by 1130 pm bland food and disgusting drinks from the bar thank you but no thank you .!!!

Yelp
Small Army post. The PX is very small. The gym is excellent. Service at the restaurants is often slow and sometimes rude. Always clean and professional looking

Yelp
I love the fitness center here, which is open to DOD employees. The sauna is always hot. Downstairs is more of the free-weight area while the cardio and strength machines are upstairs. I prefer the upstairs crowd as well. The staff are friendly. There are tons of TVs if that's your motivation. The locker rooms are small, with one or two showers. I only wish they offered more classes.

Yelp
Visitors center is nice. It is a base so I understand the strict officer at the gate...but wow this place looks amazing!! Thank you all for your service. I shall respect this ground to the best of my abilities
