Alright… I normally don’t leave a review unless it’s a 5-star experience, but I had to say something here. There is truly nothing Grand about this hotel. Anyone not accustomed to very low-budget conditions may find it uncomfortable.
The customer service isn’t the greatest, but if you don’t give them any problems, they’ll eventually help—just don’t expect a smile, which is fine, I guess. What really bothered me was the $26 service fee they charge when you first arrive to check in, bringing the total to $84 a night when the room is realistically worth about half that.
The beds are extremely uncomfortable, basically metal spring frames with sheets, and there’s rust in every corner in the room. That’s likely because there’s no vent in the bathroom and the AC barely works, so everything stays damp and humid after a shower—and good luck getting consistent hot water.
Walking to the “back elevator” (because the lobby elevator was out of service for several days), I noticed several areas without working lights. At night, it feels like something straight out of a horror film. And despite being a non-smoking hotel, the smell of marijuana is a regular part of the atmosphere.
If you’re just looking for a bed and you don’t care about much else, then sure—book here. But if you want anything more than the absolute bare minimum, go somewhere else.
