"Although Fort Lauderdale was initially known as a beloved spring break destination, it’s since become a popular year-round vacation spot thanks to its nearly 25 miles of beaches and a bustling nightlife scene. Las Olas Boulevard is lined with shops, galleries, restaurants, and bars; favorites include Ann’s Florist Coffee & Wine Bar, South Moon Under, and Timpano Las Olas. Should you need a break from the beach, make a beeline for the Fort Lauderdale Riverwalk, where you’ll find several scenic parks. Culture vultures, meanwhile, need not miss the Museum of Discovery and Science, the Bonnet House, or the Anne Kolb Nature Center, the latter of which is located in nearby Hollywood." - Lauren Dana Ellman Lauren Dana Ellman Lauren Dana Ellman is a New York-based freelance writer and editor who specializes in travel, lifestyle, food, and shopping content. This airport is honestly fine. I came from Cancun to this airport as a stop over to get to Baltimore. The customs process was super long. The workers were moderately nice though. Getting our bags took a while as well so even though we had an hour and 45 minute layover, by the time we got to the gate, we were already boarding. There’s a great selection of food Here and regular shops. It would be nice to arrive early and be able to hang out. I love the area with different pieces of art from people that work at the airport. That was a super unique touch and I like how it was celebrating different skills of the workers there.

Google
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport has its pros and cons, but the experience really depends on which terminal you’re flying out of. Unfortunately, Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 are both pretty disappointing. The food options are extremely limited, seating is outdated and uncomfortable, and there’s a noticeable lack of decent amenities. One of the biggest drawbacks: no Starbucks. If you’re someone who likes to grab a coffee before your flight, you’re out of luck in these terminals. It honestly feels like they haven’t been updated in years and the energy is just off. On the flip side, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are a completely different experience. They offer better food selections, cleaner restrooms, more modern seating areas, and yes — Starbucks. If you’re booking a flight and have the option, try to fly out of Terminal 1 or 2. You’ll have a much smoother and more enjoyable airport experience.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is well-organized and easy to navigate. The layout is intuitive, making it simple to find gates, baggage claim, and amenities without feeling overwhelmed. One standout feature is the cleanliness—janitorial staff are constantly maintaining the facilities, including the restrooms, which is a refreshing change compared to some other airports (such as San Antonio). The air conditioning is consistently on, providing a comfortable environment, though depending on where you're sitting, you might feel a strong draft from multiple directions. There are plenty of food options, from quick grab-and-go spots to sit-down restaurants, catering to different tastes and preferences. A fun bonus is the Lego store, which is great for travelers with kids or those looking for a unique airport shopping experience. Stores throughout the airport are well-stocked, and most staff members I interacted with were friendly and willing to help. Signage is conveniently located, making it easy to find your way around without getting lost. Additionally, there are plenty of seating areas where you can relax, grab a bite to eat, or enjoy an adult beverage while waiting for your flight. Overall, Fort Lauderdale Airport is a great place to fly from or have a layover. The combination of cleanliness, solid food and shopping options, and ease of navigation makes it a pleasant experience. Pros: Clean and well-maintained, including restrooms Plenty of food options and a Lego store Friendly and helpful staff Clear signage and easy navigation Lots of seating and places to relax Cons: AC can be strong in certain areas Can get crowded during peak hours

Google
It’s an older airport but they keep it clean and make the most of what they have. Many ways staff clean (I saw 3 ways…this portable vacuum, a machine manned by staff like a mini street cleaner, a robot cleaner). They are working on renovations. Lots of pictures and floor tile art depicting sea animals. The charging stations are on the chairs at the gate and they work. Bathrooms are clean. You are allowed to be at the gate overnight to wait for a flight. But the seats are not comfy so some ppl sleep on the older but cleaned carpet or steel benches near security checkpoints. No food open overnight as is typical of most airports. Signs for shelter in place, human trafficking, and they have Elkay water fountains.

Google
I have been traveling a lot for he last 5 years and have been to over 100 airports and I must say, this is in my top 5 airports I have been to. Fast TSA, plenty of seating at gates, and a plentiful food area all make this experience flying out of here great for me.

Google
Depending by the terminal this airport can be just like any other airport in America, low ceilings and quaint like terminal 3 and 4, or a bit above the average like terminal 1 and 2. I still prefer terminal 4, where I can find the Lego store and it's a main hub for the local Spirit airlines, which offers better dates than others in America.

Google
Very clean and easy to navigate. Yet I just wanted to share something about the parking lot that I feel it may help someone that is new at the place. When moving from the parking lot to your corresponding terminal, search for the elevators and look for the colored strips on the sidewalk this will take you directly to the terminal you are trying to get. I thought this was clever.

Google
Fort Lauderdale Florida Hollywood international airport has some of the most organized Airports so far...not long queues and very convenient to boarding passengers not like LAGUARDIA AIRPORT by far I have experience this is June 9, 2025 I can't wait to go back and explore More with Florida.

Yelp
Honestly I have been here a handful of times recently and don't have much to complain about (which is great for an airport lol!) The layout of this airport is very easy to navigate and there is a multitude of signs everywhere to make sure you don't get lost. The terminals are always clean when I'm there however I do wish they would update some of their seating. This is because the charging outlets in a handful of the seats I've sat in are typically dead or very loose from the amount of people using them to charge their items. There are a decent amount of quick places to grab a drink or snack and have a few sit down places if you're gonna be there for a while. I usually grab an iced coffee from a little Cafe nook and it's always brewed very well. Pricing is generic airport prices and it was about $6 dollars for the one size they sell. I do wish they would keep the bathrooms a little bit cleaner because I've gone a few times and there's usually an empty paper towel rack and water splashed all over the floor and sink area, making it a little dangerous and cause you to slip. My least favorite thing about this airport is their horrendous cellphone waiting lot which takes forever to get to, is under an overpass and is so ridiculously small that if you have a big car, you'll definitely run the risk of scraping into something.

James M.

Yelp
What a fun airport! Take some time to wander around and explore all of the cool things they've done to make this an experience. There is a self-guided art tour, moving tributes to veterans, and even an interactive sculpture playground for the kids. All the standard fare as well. Being a jacket, they have huge open vents blowing A LOT of air throughout. Also, pay attention to your bar tab if you grab a drink - at least one place adds an 18% automatic gratuity (fine), but hides it on the third receipt (not cool). Not FLL's fault for this. Great time waiting for my flight. Thanks!

Alejandro P.

Yelp
I travel a lot for work, and this airport consistently delivers. When viewed from a financial standpoint, there are often many cases made for and against both this airport in Miami international airport. That being said, I have often found options, like parking airfare, and transportation, to be more convenient and amenable here. Quite frankly, the airport has improved exponentially over the course of the last decade, as I have been traveling for almost 20 years, I can say that firsthand the improvements are noticeable and appreciated. I've flown many airlines out of this airport for work and pleasure, and find that the staff and personnel to keep this airport moving I've always seemingly been professional and courteous. I write this review and consideration for the airport as a whole, I can't base an entire airport on a single person, or a single traveler. In the interest of transparency, however I also acknowledge that my experience is based on the fact that I arrive two hours prior to domestic flights in three hours prior to international flights. Good traveling habits aren't inherent with all people, so I can understand why experiences will vary. With all that being said, I have recently, and will likely continue to bring my business to this airport for the sake of convenience and price effective airfares

Michael M.

Yelp
For all its trials tribulations, FLL got us out on time and without a hiccup. Check in was a breeze, agents were helpful and friendly, and our plane was on time. Perfect start to a vacation.

David D.

Yelp
You know in the past year I have been to 3 Florida airports: Here, Miami and Orlando and you know what? They are all bad--they all make LAX look like a palace and Salt Lake City look like the Ritz. Fort Lauderdale airport is in serious need of a rehab! The restaurants are all for the most part bad too. Restrooms and chair condition and plug availability not good. The only thing good about this airport is that it's smaller so more manageable, calmer, but you better bring your own food. We ate a chicken sandwich in some place that was fine but overpriced. Really not much of a selection here. Seems like no one wants to make an investment in this place. I was expecting more--it was a disappointment. Kind of like the airport you would expect arriving in a 3rd world country.

Na H.

Yelp
This is the airport we use when coming in and out of Ft. Lauderdale/Miami. This airport has undergone some renovations in the last few years, expanding the wait areas, among other things. They have long term parking in addition to rental car desks, Lyft/Uber services, private car and public transportation (including rail) options as well. They also have a variety of food/drink options as well (Burger King, Starbucks, Whiskey River bar , just to name a few). All in all, a nice airport to come into for Miami (when the flight is cheaper) or, of course, when you have plans in Ft. Lauderdale.

Melissa A.

Yelp
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is a gem for travelers seeking convenience and comfort. Located near the vibrant city of Fort Lauderdale, it offers a seamless travel experience with its modern facilities and easy accessibility. The airport is well-organized, making navigation a breeze, even during busy hours. Travelers can enjoy a variety of dining options, from quick bites to sit-down meals, and a good selection of shops for last-minute purchases or leisurely browsing. FLL's proximity to beaches and cruise ports adds to its appeal, making it a perfect gateway for vacationers. The staff are friendly and efficient, contributing to a positive experience. With its clean terminals, ample seating, and free Wi-Fi, Fort Lauderdale Airport truly stands out as a wonderful place to start or end your journey. There's no other airport I'd rather fly into than FLL.

Reen K.

Yelp
This is the only airport that I fly out of when I leave my home town, Miami, Florida. I fly Southwest the majority of the time, and the airport is safe and many shops to shop or dine at. I'll definitely be back, soon. :-)

La Denna R.

Yelp
This airport is not for me. It's very big and can be a bit confusing. I will try my best in the future not to have a connecting flight to this place. It's a very busy airport filled with food places whatever necessities you need. However, the staff is not very pleasant and it's not very well maintained with cleanliness. It does the job it was designed to go and that's get you from A to B. It does offer its employees to display the artwork they create throughout the airport and has seating areas in the airport exchange ways from different terminal. I can say that's a positive and god utilization of the space. But for me and future trips I'll try and avoid it.

Mojdeh S.

Yelp
Nothing much to say about the airport. It seemed clean and easy to navigate. It seems smaller than some airports, making the walk from the gates to baggage claim relatively short and sweet. It's a quick walk to get to the shuttles for rental cars, as you navigate avoiding drivers picking up other travelers. Food and gift options are also available in the fluorescent lighting, just like other airports. Nothing necessarily of note, but an efficient experience.

Rhonda D.

Yelp
My experience at FLL started smoothly. Entering the terminal, I was greeted by a calm, bright atmosphere. JetBlue bag drop was quick and easy, and the TSA line was surprisingly short. However, the gate area was a completely different story. It was chaotic, with people packed shoulder to shoulder. Seating was extremely limited, and the food and beverage areas were swamped with long lines. I also overheard announcements about several flight cancellations and delays, which likely contributed to the congestion.

Lizzie Y.

Yelp
I prefer Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport over (MIA) Miami International Airport! Much less chaotic overall and less congested too. I'll always choose to fly in/depart from FLL any day. I've never ran into any issues here and don't have to wait in the 2 hour long TSA lines. Saves a lot of time, seriously! One time, I was supposed to catch a flight home from MIA and even though we arrived extra early to return a rental car and thought we had arrived early enough to make our flight, the lines for TSA were INSANE. We ended up missing the flight long story short and there were no flights headed to Boston until Monday, which was three days later. Fortunately, we were able to get a flight from FLL.

Delilah B.

Yelp
Fort Lauderdale airport is so easy to navigate rarely having any issue or huge lines with tsa I love flying in and out. The food and drink is very expensive however bring snacks! :)

Jonathan M.

Yelp
This seems like my home away from home. It is so convenient and it seems like it doesn't take more than 20 to 30 minutes for me to check in and get to my gate. Thank you to the team and staff. This is my go to airport. You always get good deals here as well

Betsy S.

Yelp
I never know how long it's going to take me to get thru security! So I leave extra time at this airport! They've done a lot of improvements which I'm glad because the Delta terminal used to be such a mess! From my house, I would rather fly out of PBI but they don't all the direct flights! So leave yourself some time because you never know.

Cathy H.

Yelp
This is a great airport! I thought the layout was easy to understand. It was not hard to get around. I like the variety of restaurants in the airport. The bathrooms were updated and I like the outlets at the chairs at each gate. That was clutch that a lot of other airports don't have.

Daren R.

Yelp
The Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport hosts a plethora of domestic and international airlines for commercial use including private aircraft. Some airlines offered: DELTA SOUTHWEST ALLEGIANT AIR CANADA SPIRIT JET BLUE AMERICAN ALASKA AIR They have several eateries and coffee shops at the airport to chow down as you wait for your flight. Get to the airport two hours early and always expect minor delays to severe delays during the holidays. Plenty of taxis, Lyfy and Uber for transportation leaving the airport.

Michelle F.

Yelp
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport is a convenient place to fly into and stay for pre or post cruise. Clear directions posted for arrivals/departures, baggage claim & transportation. Food/dining options could be better and they could offer more in each terminal.

Danielle P.

Yelp
If you're flying out of this airport, get here much earlier than you think you need to, especially if you're checking a bag. I've flown out of this airport many times now while visiting family and while there have been times where everything went off without a hitch, I've had too many close calls due to the incredibly long lines to check bags (even as a Delta Sky Priority member) where I've almost missed my flight. I recently flew out of here the day after Thanksgiving and arrived almost two hours ahead of our departing flight, and just made it in time to check bags before the window to do so closed. Even on the priority line, it took around a half hour for us to get up to the checked bag counter. Last time I flew out of here, I arrived an hour and a half early thinking I'd be able to check my bags, but almost had to be rebooked until one of the attendants finally allowed me to move up in the line to get my bag checked. Other than that, this airport is fine. Small, but with everything you need. Bathrooms are clean, there are many places to refill water bottles, and the Delta lounge is decent.

Tish P.

Yelp
I don't have many complaints about FLL. TSA pre-check is such a breeze; walk right up, barely much wait typically. Airport is a good size, definitely lends to smaller than what I'm used to though but still a little trek to get to the gates. But where this airport fails is the lack of good eateries; especially terminal 1, it's sad! Get some more contracts, please.

Melvika S.

Yelp
Conveniently located just 15 minutes from my home, I always choose to fly in and out of FLL when I travel. I've yet to encounter cancellations, backups, or significant delays. Security is always a breeze, and once you're through, the gates are just a short walk away. The airport also offers plenty of restaurants and a few bars conveniently located throughout.

Jenni M.

Yelp
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport was good. Known as FLL on flight plans, this airport is not too big, not so small either. My daughters used this airport twice in early June 2024. The car rentals were easy to get to. Shuttles were relatively quick. Returning was even easier. The signage was clear and visible. Limited on restaurants. My girls enjoyed their pretzels & pretzel dogs from Auntie Anne's. Restrooms were mostly clean. Wish there were more seating areas and charging stations. TSA got a little testy with other folks a few times. There's no reason to be rude. That's all I have to say to everyone. Love the marlin mural near the escalators at the Southwest checkin/departures area. It coincided with my first reading of "The Old Man and the Sea" Ernest Hemingway.

Frankie M.

Yelp
Place is big and lots of restaurants in Terminal G. They have cell and electronic charging station that you won't have to get in alone just to give your electronic game or phone a nice lasting juice!

Farah A.

Yelp
I booked a last-minute flight to visit my family and decided to try Avelo Airlines from Fort Lauderdale because the ticket prices were unbeatable. I usually steer clear of Fort Lauderdale since MIA is much closer and more central to me, but my trip to the 954 wasn't bad at all! It took me about 40 minutes to get there, and upon arriving at the airport, everything was so seamless. Check-in was quick, my boarding pass was ready on my phone, and I walked straight to the terminal. After a short wait for boarding, I was on my way! I also love when airports aren't too busy, and that was the case today, which made the whole experience even better. The flight itself was smooth and on time, so I would definitely fly Avelo again for the convenience and unbeatable prices!

Maria W.

Yelp
I like airports that are easy to maneuver through without getting lost. This airport is exactly that. It was simple to walk to and from the terminals. I didn't find it difficult to locate where to retrieve the rentals. It was a straight shoot from dropping my friend off in Terminal 4 to return the vehicle. There's plenty of restrooms all throughout. The restrooms were clean and no foul odors. Plenty of toilet paper and space to squat into the toilet. The gates are spacious with proper seating. The chairs aren't warped or looking like 1940s dated. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. I personally didn't eat at any. TSA aren't as mean or total jerks like Houston Hobby employees. The carpet does have a weird mixture odor; I'm smelling a little bit of food, urine, and must. It isn't pungent, but definitely comes and goes. Pretty great in my book.

Jeff N.

Yelp
As much as I would prefer to fly out of Palm Beach International due to the convenience of my house, Fort Lauderdale's airport is better due to the number of nonstop flights that go out of the latter. While parking can be hit or miss with the garages, especially the Palm Garage, which is the easiest one for accessing Terminals 2 through 4, depending on when you're flying out, you're usually able to find a space without having to go to the far parking lot that's by the runway. Depending on the airline, if you have bags to check in, it's usually a stress-free process with many steps you can complete through self-help kiosks, with attendants available for further assistance. It also pays to have either TSA Pre-Check or Clear for security, as it cuts the wait times in half or more. Depending on the terminal, you should be able to find a vendor in your gate area without needing to walk forever if you need a meal or snacks. Bathrooms are usually in good shape. Depending on the terminal, the waiting areas to board at the respective gates can either be stress-free and relaxed or cluttered and stressful. Most of the terminals have electronic outlets for seating and stations on a first-come/first-serve basis. Overall, I have had few issues with delays as of the last few years at Fort Lauderdale International Airport when I have flown out of there -- outside of Allegiant because they are one of the worst airlines to ever exist. But I digress. Fort Lauderdale is a solid airport to fly out domestically and internationally, especially, if you can avoid flying out of Miami with all of its traffic and congestion issues.

Ric P.

Yelp
Nice airport north of Miami international. We've learned over the years is an average $160 dollars cheaper to fly into Fort Lauderdale than Miami and get a shuttle from the cruise line at $60; a $100 dollar savings. But ... you have to be willing to deal with the 35-min buss ride to the cruise terminal.

Anthony K.

Yelp
Downside: The loud and tiring canned announcements are overboard. Yes, I know that I can't bring a gun into the TSA area. Why do you have to loudly repeat that in the gate area where we have already been through TSA. It's the same for being towed away. It's the typical government managers who have never worked in the for-profit sector who don't care for public opinion. They know what is best for us...not. Some positives; - Charging stations - Pet relief areas - Reasonable alternatives to Starbucks!

Sam G.

Yelp
If you don't have to go here, don't lol I hope I never have to fly from this airport again. The place needs a major facelift.

Taina R.

Yelp
It's clean but the chairs are uncomfortable. Bathrooms need some maintenance done with the toilet paper holder. The one worker was getting upset because our bags needed checked for liquids. Which I'm confused on why she's upset if she was just sitting their passing the bags through

Clara A.

Yelp
Update: today I did not have the best time going through TSA. Lines were long and almost everyone got dinged for their carryons. The tsa agent almost tossed my epipen had it not been in its box. Threw away some hair gel and some facial toner I had that I thought met the requirements but I guess it was too big. The line to board was fairly long. And mid morning the airport was full. Definitely sticking to early flights seems like things are better

Robert S.

Yelp
I was in Terminal one hanging out in the beautiful passenger lounge located just pass gate A2 and I was very happy with it. The chairs are nice, modern and comfortable. There are tables and chairs at different heights as well as high chairs so you can work on a high counter. I was very happy to see wireless charging stations as well as places were you can plug your cable in for laptops and other electronics. Nice open windows allow for full sun to come in and make this oasis in Terminal 1 a great place to get online and wait for the next flight. This place is very close to a few restaurants and shops, as well as the restrooms, so very convenient.

Arianna M.

Yelp
Our group of 33 - 5th grade students and 6 adults traveled to Washington DC from Fort Lauderdale. It was a first time airport experience for many of our students and Ft. Lauderdale passed with flying colors. Going through security, getting our students bags checked in and receiving our boarding tickets took a little less than 40 minutes which in my opinion was record time. Our students enjoyed doing a little snack shopping before boarding our plane and were all as happy as a group of 33 10/11 year olds could be at an airport.

Andrew I.

Yelp
First time traveling through this airport. It seems to be a bit dated. Very easy to navigate, much better than the New York airports. The staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. If you are picking someone up, parking is free for the first 20 minutes. It's $3 for up to one hour if you go over the 20 minutes. Some cool murals through the airport in different areas.

Cheryl H.

Yelp
Bitterly cold inside, but the floor decorations are very attractive and there's plenty of seating. Lots of shops and restaurants.

Gail U.

Yelp
We were very fortunate that Arnold was our porter. He said he's been working here a long time and was a godsend. My favorite Tokidoki carry on suitcase arrived with a wheel and entire housing missing. We went to baggage claim and one not helpful older man said we don't get any compensation. We spoke to a younger employee and he at least gave us a card with a number to call. Finally the woman we saw helping another customer was very caring and had the younger employee bring out a new same size replacement.

Monique Y.

Yelp
I love flying out of this airport. It's not as crowded as Miami. Ticket prices are much more than flying out of Miami however, for the convenience less traffic it is definitely worth flying out. There's different food options in each terminal.

Connie M.

Yelp
Not many healthy food options at all! Mainly low quality burgers and tacos. Limited vegetables. Is this a Florida thing??? The main redeeming quality is at least they have filtered water stations available and a pet relief area. That's about it. The airport could use a facelift.

Rikka B.

Yelp
Decent airport and they keep adding.. I've always been in and out. Cheaper, cleaner, a bit more organized than most.

Melodie M.

Yelp
I have written before about the horrible system at this airport for passengers waiting to be picked up by a Lyft or Uber. Recently, I've been on the opposite end, picking up someone who had flown in to this airport, and it is also a nightmare. The traffic is so disorganized, in part because of the backup created by the Lyft/Uber piled up mess. Despite so much traffic and pileups, there were no traffic personnel in sight. So disorganized, and so frustrating! I had to circle multiple times, and it was a slow crawl without direction, signage, or help. I finally found the cell phone waiting lot, which was very cramped.

Dan A.

Yelp
A tale of two airports is the best way to describe this one. Our inbound experience was fine and uneventful. Checked Bags were out in a timely manner. Rental counters were steps away and didn't require a shuttle. Outbound was chaotic though. Tough to handle at least one if not two Cruise Ship customers going home at the same time. We gave ourselves plenty of time (3 hours) but overheard one of the check-in attendants tell a customer that you can't check in more than 4 hours before your flight. They had a good variety of restaurants in C Gate area (Rocco's Tacos and Tequila Bar, Shula's Burger, Starbucks, etc.) Staff in the shops/restaurants and airline counters were friendly and helpful despite the busy environment. Overall, a smaller airport that is about 15 minutes from the Port Everglades Cruise Terminal and depending on Cruise schedules can become very busy.

Scott M.

Yelp
I love Fort Lauderdale airport for its ease and lack of thousands of people, as Miami airport seems to always have. When taking cruises out of the port of Miami, I prefer flying into Fort Lauderdale and grabbing the provided shuttle over flying into Miami and having a struggle getting through that large airport. They do have a lack of food, but they have tons of open space, so you don't feel cramped.

Monique Y.

Yelp
My recent visit through the Fort Lauderdale airport was very short, I did notice it was very clean and well kept. I did not have a chance to try and food, but there were alot of options available.

Haron K.

Yelp
An airport is largely, but not wholly just an airport, right!? The customer service that you receive is generally not to be directed upon the airport itself, but on the individual vendors and airline staffs, so Fort Lauderdale Airport otherwise, is mostly kinda' middle of the road, in comparison to all of the many airports that I've been to domestically and internationally. I will say, that the food options left a lot to be desired - A LOT!! On the other hand, they did have a nice staff art show being displayed in one of the terminals and that was a nice, appreciated touch. Okay!

Danielle D.

Yelp
I feel like I had an abnormal experience here because everything was quick, easy and clean. Traveled on Halloween this year. The parking garages were quite full and we had to circle around for a bit to find an open garage. Once inside, it really was a breeze. Security was empty. It was almost eerily creepy the way no one else was there. In and out in no time.

Astrida M.

Yelp
One of my very good friends was flying in from California and landing at FLL airport rather than MIA. She was very nervous about landing in a super large airport. I told her I had used Fort Lauderdale Intl Airport for that very reason many a time. It's not exactly a small airport, but it's not as big and confusing as MIA. I've picked up many friends in the past at this airport. It is fairly easy to do. My friend arrived at Terminal 1 as she flew with United. So I parked curbside between T1 and T2 to get her. Everything went well. If you plan to meet them inside the airport, then you need to park in short-term parking and wait outside of their terminal. Or meet them curbside if you don't want to go inside the airport. If you aren't able to pick your person up, you can schedule a ride to be ready for them when they land, like Lyft or Uber. All passengers must be picked up at the arrivals level, on the innermost curb either between Terminals 1 & 2, or between Terminals 3 & 4 (see map below). So be sure to find out which terminal they will be at. For your convenience, visit FLL's Cell Phone Waiting Area. It's lighted, paved, and just seconds from the terminal's arrival areas. And, it's free! That's what I use. It's hassle free.

Yelp
Departed from FLL to CUN (Cancun) using the International Jet Blue Terminal 3 at the airport. It appears that the airport is currently under construction, as indicated by our need to walk out of the area to reach Terminal 4 and then head to Gate G. Along the way, we encountered a duty-free shop, but unfortunately, it didn't have the items I was looking for, bummer! I acquired some coffee for my partner, and we brought along our breakfast of eggs and leftovers, which greatly aided in saving over $40. Like many other airports across the country, you are allowed to bring a canteen filled with ice only, no other liquids, which I found to be convenient. Overall, I was quite pleased with the cleanliness of the airport and the terminal. Side note - We opted to rent a car from an off-site economy car rental location. There's a bus that takes you to the main rental car center, and from there, you head to section G, which is where you'll find the economy car rentals. (Check out my review of the Economy car rental service here.) I particularly appreciate that they offer bus service, as it helps to reduce traffic. Instead of multiple vans going around the terminal, there's just one big bus that takes you to the car rental center!

Yelp
I am surprised that I have never reviewed this airport before. The funny (or sad part) is that I remember coming to FLL when I was a kid to avoid the crowds at Miami. I deboarded the Boeing 707 via stairs and the luggage was along side the plane. I was also here once for 6+ hours after the 747 I was on had to be brought back to the gate after an anonymous call and all the baggage had to be inspected (Pre TSA days) Lots of memories here. NOW... What a beautiful airport and terminals. Easy to park and walk to the terminal or be dropped off by an Uber or Lyft. The terminals are clean modern with plenty of clean restrooms, restaurants and food vendors. I like the fact that it is NOT a long walk to the baggage no matter what gate you come into. We've had some pretty long walks at Laguardia and Kennedy. We've flown at many different times and really never had a problem with lines. If you get here early enough, you are the only ones going through the check in. I also like the free wi-fi and computer seating areas. Overall, this is a great airport and always a pleasure to fly into or from.

Yelp
I fly am a Spirit Elite flyer which means I fly Spirit A LOT which also means I am always at this airport. I live in Brickell so it takes me about 30 minutes with no traffic or closer to 1 hour with traffic to get to this airport. There are 4 terminals all very close so there is no confusion when arriving to check in. Traffic at the airport can be pretty bad depending on the season but that is expected. There is also one participating Priority Pass restaurant located in Terminal 4 near Gate 7. I've had many delayed flight experiences here which means I've explored most of the airport. You can walk through most terminals and there's a mini food court near Terminal 3 with a Shake Shack, PEI WEI, and Einstein Bagels. There's also a Chili's! All in all it's a pretty good airport, on the smaller side which makes navigating pretty easy. Note: Terminal 3 and 4 are a little far so be mindful of time if you're exploring.
