Old colonial fort atop a long flight of steep steps. Entry is 80 NTD and it's BOGO admission. The grounds are well-maintained and quiet, and the architecture is spectacular. There's also lots of greenery, seating, vending machines, and bathrooms.
The history of the fort itself is pretty interesting, as it's had connections to the French, Dutch, British, Americans, and the Chinese, and served as both a garrison and a a consulate. However, there's not much to see and after about half an hour, you're pretty much done with the entire tour of the place. Honestly, I'd say just come here to check it off your sightseeing list, and leave quickly.
