Rich in history, yet sadly overlooked. Despite being just a 5-minute drive from Cape Coast Castle, many visitors miss it entirely. Nestled on a quiet hill and hidden by thick vegetation, it’s easy to pass by unless you know it’s there. Tip: Always ask the guides at the main castle for directions—they often forget to include it in the full Cape Coast experience. This site deserves more attention and care. With proper restoration and promotion, it could become a powerful addition to Ghana’s historical tourism circuit.

Full of history but seem neglected . Easy to miss it out by any visitor to Cape Coast Castle even though it is just about 5mins drive away. It seats on a hill but covered by the vegetative cover around . Always remember to ask the guides at the main castle for direction as they forget to add it to the total Cape coast experience.

The sea and the area is just cozy and quiet out there and the breeze makes the place feel warm

The location on google maps is wrong. You can find it by asking the locals. But it is an abandoned place and unsafe to visit. I just admired it from a distance ( there are certain vantage points in Cape Coast you can see the fort from). Visited Fort William instead where there’s a resident and hence much safer.

Constructed in 1821 on the site of a ruined fort built in 1712, Fort Victoria was formerly known as ‘Phipp’s Tower’, in honour of its initial constructor English Governor Phipps. It was later renamed Fort Victoria after Queen Victoria of Great Britain.

Provides a telescopic view of the historic town of Cape Coast. A blend of the old settlement and the new township giving a kaleidoscopic view

The place could use a little bit of painting especially for the Panafest but it's a place of great history
