Fort Whoop-Up

We had a truly memorable visit to Fort Whoop-Up—a place rich in history. The museum was both educational and engaging, offering captivating exhibits that transport you back to frontier times. There’s so much to discover, and the stories of the region are shared with care and depth. One of the highlights was the wagon ride, which added a delightful, old-timey touch to the experience. The chance to pet the small horses and donkey made it feel even more special—especially for animal lovers and families with curious kids. Those little personal interactions bring the whole place to life. All in all, Fort Whoop-Up offers a lovely mix of heritage, hands-on fun, and a welcoming atmosphere. A definite must-see for anyone in the area.

Enjoyed very much, learned a lot from the staff working there and answered all my questions so patiently as I'm from the US and knew nothing of the Fort's and First People's history in Lethbridge.

I had a wonderful experience here. The wagon ride was the highlight of my trip. It is well worth the price of admission. The fort itself is quite authentic and there are many rooms to walk through that are filled with historic items. Lots of walking trails in the nearby park.

What a great experience and look back at history. Our wagon ride with 2 Clydesdale horses was the highlight with Cathy our tour guide. Great to go with kids, activities like writing with a quill pen, candle dipping and fresh made Bannock. A big park surrounds the fort so you could easily pack a lunch, there is also a playground nearby.

Really cool place with lots to see! Got to have a wagon ride pulled by Duke and John. Beautiful horses. The people of Lethbridge are all so kind. Thank you for the great experience.really enjoyed visiting the pony and donkeys.

Wonderful way to spend an afternoon or evening with family in Lethbridge. We went on a Thursday and there was a trader tales program going on. It’s educational and informative and interactive experience for children. There was a campfire and sharing of stories over bannock and jam. Also the ice cream is delicious. They give liberal amounts of it! 🍦

Booked this tour as part if a one night staycation getaway. Was more than what we expected and well worth the admission. Learned a lot! Megan and Troy (Trevor?) Were great guides.

This place is super cool! I got an old fashion recipe for beans, seen a whole bunch of awesome stuff like jail cells and mountie uniforms, got to write with a quill pen. Rode in a horse and buggy, took a tour that way. The little shop in it is a bit pricy but they had really cool fur hats and stuff. Great place for a day out spend an few hours have a picnic in the beautiful areas around the fort you wont be disappointed .
