Events and Festivals in Dallas-Fort Worth

"This is the classic Texas show you came to see. Taking place each year at the Will Rogers Memorial Center, the annual event is just a short drive from Fort Worth’s Seventh Street neighborhood. There are a variety of shows you can check out from horse to livestock, but the main attraction is the rodeo. Tickets to the rodeo will run you about $30 and get you access to the rest of the attractions. Inside, you’ll be able to see all the cowboy boots, hats, and buckles you’d expect as well as plenty of bucking bulls. Widely regarded as one of the best rodeos in all of Texas, it’s the oldest continuously running livestock show and rodeo. The multi-week event also features parades and cattle drives throughout Fort Worth. When: Middle of January through early February" - MATADOR_NETWORK

A True Texas Treasure – Incredible Day at the Fort Worth Stockyards! Our visit to the Fort Worth Stockyards was one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences we’ve had as a family. From start to finish, it felt like stepping into a living piece of Texas history—authentic, exciting, and full of charm. If you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly outing with great food, warm people, and a real Western vibe, this is the place to be. The atmosphere is absolutely incredible. Whether you’re walking along the historic brick streets, watching the longhorn cattle drive, or just soaking in the sights and sounds of cowboy culture, there’s something special around every corner. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, take it all in, and just enjoy being present with your loved ones. One of the biggest highlights for us was the cattle drive. Seeing those massive, majestic longhorns walking down the street was like something out of a movie. The horses were stunning, the cowhands were friendly and knowledgeable, and the whole experience was both educational and inspiring. It’s not every day you get to be that close to such incredible animals in such a unique setting. The people truly made the experience even better. Everyone we met was kind, welcoming, and genuinely proud of the culture and history they were sharing. It didn’t matter if we were popping into a shop, chatting with a local, or asking for directions—hospitality was everywhere, and it made the whole day feel even more special. And let’s talk about the food—hands down amazing. There are so many great restaurants and food spots to choose from, and whether you’re in the mood for classic Texas BBQ, a juicy steak, or some homestyle comfort food, you’ll leave full and happy. Every bite tasted like it was made with love, and the quality and flavor were top-tier. There’s so much to do at the Stockyards—from shopping for Western gear to catching a live rodeo or just exploring the museums and live music spots. It’s the perfect mix of entertainment and culture, and there’s something for every age. If you’re in Fort Worth or anywhere nearby, the Stockyards are an absolute must. It’s more than just a tourist attraction—it’s an authentic Texas experience filled with heart, history, and hospitality. We can’t wait to go back!

We drove 4 hours from Houston to see the rodeo. We saw the rodeo before and we thought the drive was totally worth it to go and see it and bring our visitors along for this unique experience. The horses were not there and the show was horrible. We spend 3 hours watching bull riding. That was the only thing to see! We will never go again. They should have cancelled or at least gave the option for a refund. We will never recommend it anymore to people either. Even when the horses return we will not go anymore.

I recommend anyone in the Fort Worth area during the All Western Parade should check it out ! The horses are beautiful and the volunteers involved in the parade are good ole' Texans !

It was a "since youre visiting Fort Worth, you need to see the stockyards show!" pick. Outrageous parking options. Very rustic feel to the area, with many resturants and shops. Almost brought some boots, until I remembered I'd have to pay for checked airline baggage! Nope! Not doing that! But my primary purpose for the vist was to see The Herd cattle drive. I gathered with the assembled masses to witness 17 Longhorns paraded slowly down 1 block make a right turn, proceed 1 block, another right turn and thats it folks! The show was over. I overheard at least 4 other attendees say out loud, "Is that it?" Lol! The absolute coolest thing was witnessing the Grapevine Vintage Railroad arrive directly in the center of the Fort Worth Stockyards Station. The younger kids will Love It!

Wear comfortable shoes when coming to the stockshow and Rodeo. My brother wore boots and his feet were done by the end of the day. 😆 Lots and lots of walking. Plenty to see..

Very fun place to go for locals and out of towners alike! The shopping is always excellent. Be sure to stop by the Go Texan market in the equine building for good take home foods. You can also walk through the barns and see the animals up close. The big rodeo is now held in the dickies area, which is fantastic!

Carnival Midway, Was awesome! You can go to the carnival and the stock show but I just attended the carnival. It was awesome! By far the best kid section I've seen at a carnival, lots of rides, depending on the kids height. Even rides for kids as small as maybe 2 or 3. We LOVED IT! There is one side for older kids/ adults And one side for small kids. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YOU GO CHECK IT OUT!!! CASH ONLY TO GET IN, THEY HAVE A ATM IF YOU NEED CASH. Then there is a machine to get tickets that accepts cash and card.

Cold this year but lots of fun. We're showing heifers with my daughter so spend much time there prepping and showing. Very expensive and hard to park is my only gripe. Highly recommend you come when in town
