How to Plan a Ski Trip to Alyeska Resort

"An all-day dining spot at the resort that aims to serve all diets—vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free included—featuring breakfast options like scrambled tofu and wild-berry pancakes and lunch/dinner plates such as halibut-and-prawn panzanella and cheese ravioli in brown-butter sauce." - Evie Carrick Evie Carrick Evie Carrick is a writer and editor who’s lived in five countries and visited well over 50. We had a great experience here. Sarah, or server, was fast an friendly and we lived the view. The martini was great, as was the wine and beer options. Loved the green salad with cheese. Great flavors! The gnocchi was very tasty and a bit “crispy”, and my seafood pasta was very good. The portions were not huge, but they were satisfying. We had no room for dessert even though it was free with my wife’s birthday dinner! VictorB

Located within the Aleskya Hotel, Forte is the nicest dining option within the property. The service yesterday during lunch and today for breakfast was excellent, the restaurant decor and views of the mountain are beautiful, and most importantly, we had one of the best burgers ever during our visit. We couldn't recommend a meal at Forte highly enough. The breakfast buffet was solid as well.

We had breakfast and Nicole was our server. She was amazing. We came down at 7:45 for drinks and our 11 year old had dinner. He ordered noodles and marinara. To start we were sat at a table with dirty, half full water glass. It was 10 minutes before anyone came to our table. It was 50 minutes before he got his pasta. Very disappointing for a resort on a Tuesday evening in the off season.

We really enjoyed our meals. Our waitress did a great job explaining the menu and add on options. My husband had the pistachio pesto gnocchi and added chicken as his protein (if you do not add a protein this will be a smaller portion meal). I enjoyed the king crab tagliolini, opted to have the peppers served on the side and not mixed in. Both dishes were amazing. These are not over size American portions. It’s a restaurant that intends on its guests to add on an appetizer or dessert. The tiramisu is Devine. We would absolutely eat here next time we stay at Alyeska. Enjoy!

Well, the night started off great with our friendly server, the cocktails, and the focaccia bread. The bread comes with a side of ricotta cheese, 4 large slices of focaccia, and a small side of olives for $13 - this was very reasonable for the large portion given. We then ordered the mushroom pizza and the stuffed pasta. The mushroom pizza was what we expected, filling enough for one hungry person. The stuffed pasta is not worth your money. My server warned me that it wasn’t filling, but I guess my expectations were still higher. The stuffed pasta is $32 and comes with 6-7 pieces of normal sized ravioli, covered in oil and a sweet sauce. I left hungry. I would understand the price and portion if the sauce was savory & exciting, but it wasn’t. Lastly, the flavor of the tiramisu was what I’d expect but unfortunately, it had so much cocoa powder on top what we were coughing with every bite that we took. This would be great with some less cocoa. Overall, I would come back for the focaccia and cocktails.

Well, I love the atmosphere, decorations, hospitality of the place, plants, cleanliness, and the location. Music was also soft and comfortable However, the food was of quite a bad quality. Halibut was too dry, chicken was too oily and dry. And the overall taste was so so.

AVOID AVOID AVOID What is the manager thinking? (Waitress was very nice though) Bruschetta was half mushrooms on bread. Bruschetta is not broken - don’t change it! Pizza was bland and basically 50% crust. Tiny center area of ingredients. Look at pic. Pasta entree was about 4 bites of pasta, for a full price entree $$$. Look at pic. For being the nice restaurant at alyeska resort and paying resort prices, you sure don’t get squat. Will never go back. Hotel manager needs to rethink how things are done here. Beautiful spot, nice setting but food is bad, tiny portions, and big prices. Something’s gotta change.

Beautifully styled with a wonderful atmosphere. And we had an attentive, helpful server. But the menu is tiny, and the food was very overpriced for the portions. Unfortunately, it was the *only* restaurant open in the entire resort for lunch on that day, so we were a captive audience.
