8 unique spots to check out in Brisbane - SilverKris

"A large new concert venue conceived by John Collins that revives Fortitude Valley’s independent-music legacy, drawing inspiration from global landmarks such as The Fillmore. The space holds up to 3,300 people and aims to champion local bands alongside rising international acts, helping to restore the neighbourhood’s reputation as a live-music heartland." - Neha Kale

World Class venue. Watched The Living End, November 2025, one of Australia’s premier bands of all time. Sound quality was impressive. Crowd control was seamless. Cleanliness was noticeably pleasant. Staff were professional and reassuring, which showed their experience in holding high level musical acts and performances. The Hall itself as a layout is brilliant in the fact that it has such a large capacity, yet relatively so much visibility. The feeling of intimacy yet simultaneously experiencing also the atmosphere is priceless with live music! Aircon was well appreciated throughout. Lighting cannot be faulted, it was exceptional. From entrance to exiting - security were consistent, adding that level of comfort that cannot be taken for granted, smooth & efficient. Must mention again the sound was extraordinarily good, what a memorable night!

One of the best venues in Fortitude Valley. I’ve been to 5 different concerts at this venue and all were overall good experiences. Depending on the ticket and show there’s the balcony which is my personal favourite place to be to enjoy the show with a view but without being surrounded by a lot of people. The sound is always good and the staff are friendly

Awesome venue, especially if you have mobility issues. We attended the Jackson Dean concert this evening. I have a hidden disability so requested accessibility seating. They give you priority entry (no queuing) then the option to sit near the stage or at the back. We opted for the front and were offered earplugs as we were very near the speakers. A staff member then came and checked on us after the warm up act & we were offered bottled water throughout the night. An excellent evening and a huge thank you to the most attentive venue staff we have come across. We’ll certainly look out for gigs at this venue in the future.

We had a great experience. First time visit for me, and I found FMH to be a well lit and clean venue with helpful staff. We are a couple in our fifties who are not used to late night venues anymore; however, live music at FMH was a draw for us. Be prepared to stand up, unless u can get in line early for a seat upstairs. Wear really comfy shoes and don't use your phone to record the experience, live in the moment. Thanks team.

Amazing venue and even more amazing staff!! Had booked a standing only gig "The Living End" then due to a broken leg, crutches/wheelchair etc approached via email to see if I was still able to attend. Zac Carr in Administration was so friendly & accommodating arranging special seating for us. Awesome communication and care at all times. Then on the night ALL staff we encountered were so helpful and made what could have been stressful anything but. Always had smiles on their faces and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. Have always loved this place as a venue but now love it even more due to the kind, helpful, awesome staff, from first email to Zac to the end of the night upon leaving an awesome gig. Thank you so much to all of the amazing team at FVMH!

My wife and I attended Crowded House on the 14/5 arriving around 19:30. As per images, from minute one, the tickets seemed very, very oversold, and essentially if we pushed inside past the foyer doors (at the front bar) we were crushed (or crushed others) within meters (we did get a few meters in but for safety concerns, retreated after a few minutes). I believe the band stopped the concert twice in the first 30 mins to address people who were victims of the crush, allow them to get treatments and then move on. Footage available if required. Anyways, safety issues aside and the fact that we could not get beyond the initial doors safely (near either side of the front bar), we had to settle for watching the show in a queue, on a screen, adjacent to the gents toilets and well outside the auditorium (see images), where the sound quality was uncannily like watching the band, on a screen, in a foyer outside of the auditorium right next to the gents toilets as the venue had sold too many tickets. We left around 5 songs in, knowing that after the band played the new songs and got onto the big hits, it was only going to get worse. I have been to many gigs there (Primal Scream, Morrisey etc) and have always found the venue to be top notch but tonight was really bad.

An amazing venue for concerts! The GA option is great to be part of the experience but if you rather be an spectator and a seat while you wait for a performance, the upper area is a good option. I was recently there for an awesome concert in the GA and there were a couple of people ramming through to get to the front and they were dealt with swiftly by security. Well done to the place managers and the staff!

Revamped Optus Centre in the middle of Brunswick St Mall in Fortitude Valley, great location with quiet elegant settings, medium size perfect for concert!
