At first glance the hotel looked like a bar with accommodations but the room was great; rustic, clean and with air conditioning. They had soap from Aesop that smelled amazing!!! The large bed was comfy too. We didn't have the breakfast but over all we had a good stay and the staff was very welcoming. We would definitely recommend it.

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a genuine sense of care from the staff. The hotel itself is beautifully situated in the charming fortified town of Naarden, and perfectly blends historic character with modern comfort. The rooms are stylish, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed with unique details that give each space personality. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the overall ambiance is peaceful and welcoming. What truly sets the Vesting Hotel apart is the attention to detail and the atmosphere—it feels more like staying in a boutique home than a traditional hotel. Breakfast was delicious with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the coffee was some of the best I’ve had in the Netherlands! I highly recommend the Vesting Hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing stay. Whether you're visiting for business or pleasure, this hotel is an absolute delight. I can’t wait to return!

If you want slow, slow service this is the place to come. After waiting 50 minutes on the terrace for a simple “uitsmijter” we gave up and left. We checked and they had not even started the order. Quite a lot of traffic passing by. I rarely complain but this was really poor.

The atmosphere at the Vesting Hotel is lovely, food excellent, staff very friendly, service easy, location beautiful and cozy. Naarden is a very quaint little old town and the Vesting Hotel is the perfect spot to take a breather on a mutli-day trip through these parts of Europe. There are also a lot of nice little galleries and design stores in town. We came by car, but quite a few of the other guests were stopping on bike tours.

We stayed in this hotel as part of our bike tour in Holland. This hotel is the place to be in Naarden, the restaurant below is the life of this tiny village but the noise stops at night and did not bother us at all. We had a room on the top floor and it felt a little like Anne Franke's attic, small an compact. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast was good and the service very friendly. There is a supermarket about 20 min walk away and the Naarden city center is fun to visit.

Extremely disappointed with how this hotel handled my lost item. I left my jewelry bag in the bathroom — in plain sight, not hidden — yet I was told it was “not easy to find.” That’s simply not true. The lack of transparency and delay was and still is unacceptable. When the bag finally reappeared, the most expensive necklace was missing. I know exactly what was in it. The hotel’s response? Basically: “We can’t prove anything, so too bad.” Instead of taking responsibility, they implied I should file a police report, rather than owning up to their staff’s failure to follow basic lost & found procedures. No accountability, no empathy, and no real attempt to resolve the matter. I will never stay here again, and I strongly advise others to be extremely cautious. Don’t expect your belongings — or your concerns — to be taken seriously.

The hotel is welcoming and cozy. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom has nice amenities - the layout of the room is well thought out and uses the space nicely. Each room has wifi. The location is great - the old town is lovely, especially with Christmas lights hanging.
