Beautiful views from the top, the panoramas are really worth it. Unfortunately, the site itself is poorly maintained, not really visitable inside, and the €20 entrance fee is absolutely too much. I’m giving it 3 stars mainly because of the price – €5–10 would be more appropriate considering the limited access and its recent history.

Definitely worth a visit for the views. There’s 2 ways to go up. Can either go by car or climb the stairs. The climb looks more daunting than it is. Casual pace can take around 20min. I recommend going in the morning so your in the shade during the climb. Depending on time of year take a bottle or water and wear a hat especially during hotter times of year. No drones allowed on site. It also says no cameras but there was a few people inside with them… If you want to explore everything casually you would need roughly 2 hours. Last entrance is 20min before closing time. Entrance is €20 per person. There’s also a snack bar but nearly everything is inflated other than the 500ml water which is 50 cents. Take your time and enjoy the views. There’s lot to see and explore.

We started our climb from the base, making our way up the stone steps. The view along the way was spectacular, and the air felt incredibly refreshing. Once you reach the fortress, you’ll need to purchase a ticket to enter. We were lucky — it was the first Sunday of January, and admission was free. We thoroughly explored the entire fortress and truly enjoyed both the rich history and the breathtaking views of this incredible place.

Absolutely loved it. We took the steps up and had to stop a few times it certainly tested our fitness as 60+ but once we were up there the history of the Fortress and the Views were Magnificent. You must go.

Beautiful fortress with a great view on Nafplio city. Entrance was 20€ per person. We didn’t go down all the stairs but we walked through it and took beautiful photos.

Perfect place to see the entire city. Not only the city itself can be seen, but the beautiful ocean can be visible as well. The price of entrance is 20€ per person(adult), but its value of beautiful scenes are way over the price.

Wonderful fortress to visit. Beautiful views from the top and super interesting to read the history. However, quite a hike up the steps in the summer heat. We went around 8.30am and it was 27 degrees, Ensure you take lots of water and make plenty of stops. If you're moderately fit it is totally doable. £20 admission seems a bit steep but this is forgotten when you take in the wonderful views.

Great place with astonishing views from all around. Just sit somewhere and think about the historical events that have occurred here, pretty impressive and makes you feel humble. What kept me from giving 5 stars is the entrance fee, okay children are free but to charge €20,- per adult I think is way too much. This price will keep many tourists from visiting the fortress which is a cultural loss for the city.
