The castle is a totally worthy visit. We drove up to the castle entrance and parking was tough. Going early is better. Also Greece is super hot so if you travel in summer please hydrate and carry sunscreen and hats. The views are spectacular with plenty of view points.

The breathtaking views at the top is 100% worth the walk up. On the way, I recommend bringing a bottle of water and maybe a fan as it can get very warm. Additionally don’t do this walk if you are not at least a bit fit, or if you have asthma. The walk up to the top took about 20 minutes, however, a friend of mine took 45 minutes. It depends on your own speed.

Take a bottle of water with you as there are many stairs (I suggest athletic shoes) and take it easy if you're not use to walking loads of stairs. Especially younger children might find this hard. The views are amazing.

It is a bit pricey as some other guests mentioned; especially if you are a family with kids (not sure if they have free admission or reduced for kids - we visited as a couple) but still happy that we did it. Amazing view of Napflio.

What a great way to see the city and area. And this rustic fortress is a wonderful way to learn about the early history of Greece. Not overrun by tourists which is a big plus

Breathtaking views worth the visit. Either drive up there is enough parking or if you want a challenge to walk the 900 steps. If you are planning to go on a Saturday it's best to go early to miss the big groups of people. Entrance is €4

Nafplion was one of my favorite ports on my 11 day Greece cruise. Climbing all 999 steps to the Fortress of Palamidi felt like a huge accomplishment. It was definitely steep but there was so many great views a long the way up that you stopped often and was able to catch your breath. We arrived early March. It was a beautiful sunny day. The wild flowers were in full bloom. It was such a beautiful setting. We spent 3 hours exploring the fort. Tip, if you can get there early, do so. We were one of first climbing up. When we came down amazed at number of people we passed climbing up. Steps got pretty congested.

Breathtaking and stunning castle. It's impressive how well kept it is, you can spend easily 3 hours exploring the grounds. Be aware uneven floors, slippery steps, so wear comfy walking shoes with grip. Also, gets really hot in the middle of the day, bring a sunhat and water. They have toilets and a small cafe with hot&cold drinks available. The views to Nafplion are quite something. Entry fee fo foreigner is €20, well worth the cost, the place is beautiful.
