Fortuna Boat Hotel Budapest

The Fortuna Boat Hotel offers a unique and comfortable stay in Budapest, situated within easy walking distance to the city centre. Though we opted for the convenience of the Uber taxi service, which was easy to book and arrived promptly, the hotel’s location means that you’re never far from major attractions.||Breakfast at the Fortuna is a buffet, served between 7.30 and 10.30 am. While the selection stays consistent, it offers a good variety, including fresh fruits, bread, hams, cheeses, pastries, and scrambled eggs with bacon. You won’t find a full English breakfast, but for many, the fresh bread, cereals, and yogurt options are more than adequate. A selection of teas, three juice options, and several coffee choices are available as well. Do note that the breakfast service ends promptly at 10.30 am, and there is no service afterwards. If you're looking for a drink outside of breakfast hours, you can find soft drink cans at reception or request a kettle for in-room use.||The rooms are compact, which is typical of being on a boat, but they’re clean, comfortable, and full of character. Expect a quirky, well-maintained space rather than a pristine, modern hotel room. The shower works well, and fresh towels are provided daily. You can also choose whether to have your room cleaned each day. For additional amenities, such as a hairdryer or kettle, simply ask at reception.||The hotel’s staff are friendly and helpful, with the breakfast team in particular standing out for their excellent sense of humour. For guests with mobility issues, be aware that the stairs to the upper rooms are steep, so booking a room on the first floor is advisable. If you choose a River Danube view room, the room are quieter as the other side faces the road.

For who wants a different experience I highly recommend this boat hotel! It’s quiet, comfortable, the breakfast is really good and staff very nice and welcoming. It’s located next to the Margit bridge so it’s close to a lot of things. If you want to come solo and want to do the night cruise, it’s a really well located boat, since the pier for the cruises are right next to it!

The Boatel is located in a really great spot, walking distance to pretty much everything. Small but fresh choices for breakfast, room was bigger than expected with 3 beds in. Reception staff are super lovely, as was the Lady at breakfast; give her a rise! If your a women avoid the tiny red angry man at breakfast who will shout at you for just simply existing. Other than that, it's a great place to stay for a great price!

Bedding lovely and clean and beds super comfy. Breakfast was lovely and staff friendly...esp the gentleman who gave us a laugh. We booked the 4 bed cabin and had 2 beds each and was super spacious.. apx 10 min walk to local tram. Will def weback 😃

What I need from a hotel is a fresh, comfortable bed; a clean room and bathroom and a hot shower that works Added not-so-essential details are a good breakfast, a helpful staff and receptionist and a location not far from what I want to see. The Fortuna ticked all these boxes for me. Everyone, from Cynthia and Zoltan on the front desk to the housekeepers, to the staff in the dining room, was charming. The breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of tasty choices. I walked to all the places I needed to see. I can't recommend this hotel enough. A tip! Choose the river side! The city side is a bit busy and noisy at night!

This hotel is an absolute cat fish, it looks nothing like the pictures, the rooms are beyond basic and city view was a metal wall near the main entrance with no view whatsoever. The reception staff clearly do not want to be there and do not help or speak. The bed was broken so leaned to one side, asked if they had another room to change us to but they didn’t want to help, breakfast was awful, although the staff at breakfast was friendly. No bar of any facilities to get a drink or evening snack despite some pictures showing nice evening meals. The pictures look all lit up and welcoming but as soon as we arrived it was dark and depressing. Wouldn’t recommend

Nice boat rooms basic and fits needs for a short stay. Although the breakfast staff member was a horrible man who liked to talk down to us each morning speak rude and abrupt to us, not only that tell us that the way we speak is incorrect because we pronounce a number different to how he does. When I stated it was because we was from England/London we pronounce it that way, he told us we was incorrect sit down and just eat our food! Never will I stay on this boat while this man remains a member of staff

The smallprint and the pictures online looked amazing until we arrived. The boat was dark and gloomy from the outside and was not appealing at all but in the pictures it was all lit up romantically and beutiful. It did not have a bar or anywhere where you could get refreshments however on the pictures and smallprint it mentions a bar and restaurant also shows pictures of alcohol and food. The room was not suitable for 2 adults also the view was obsolete and the beds was broken and lobsided. The breakfast staff was polite.
