Great location. From outside it may look a little tired but inside is beautiful polished wood and brass. Room size is good with TV and en suite. No mini fridge but still good and clean room. Breakfast is good selection. Evenings of quietly enjoying the views of the Danube and seeing the fountain at Margritte Island lighting up. Knowledge staff if wishing to make any excursion bookings.

The Fortuna boat hotel is in a perfect position on the Danube for visiting all the major sights of this beautiful city. It is a 20 minute walk to the Parliament building and the main attractions. The bridge over to Buda is also within good walking distance. ||The hotel as all the facilities you could want for a few nights stay. We upgraded to a premier room which was well worth it for the small extra cost. The interior of the boat does look a little tired and stuck in a time warp but I found this part of the charm. |Breakfast is very good, offering all you need to set you up for a day's sightseeing. The gentleman clearing the plates is a real character. He may appear a little abrupt when you first meet him but he is actually quite funny and entertaining. ||Would I stay here again? A definite YES. The hotel is a very reasonable price and you get what you pay for.

My granddaughter (22yrs) and I stayed on the boat hotel with a river view overlooking Margaret Island and we found it just perfect. The room ( twin beds) was very roomy with plenty of storage space. The beds were very comfortable and my granddaughter requested an extra pillow which she was given straight away. The room was cleaned everyday. The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent throughout. All the staff were very polite friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a good choice of both hot and cold foods as well as plenty of choice of pastries and bread. With a pleasant walk (approximately 40 minutes) along The Danube you were in the centre of Budapest for all the attractions on either Buda side or Pest side Transport is very close if you prefer instead of walking.

Good but only served breakfast that was excellent for the price for 5 days including flights well worth it if you have children you need to book a superior room. If going on booking. Com check your choice of room before completing booking as they make mistakes

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Fortuna Boat Hotel. The hotel is extremely clean and all of the staff were welcoming and helpful. The rooms are a bit dated but have everything you need. The bathroom is small but we expected that on a boat. The breakfast was really good, the breads and scrambled egg was delicious. The location was great, it was only a 10/15 minutes walk to parliament and the main tourist areas. It was minus 7 at night but the room was warm and there was plenty of hot water. I would definitely stay again.

Stayed here 17th - 20th February 2025. Really enjoyed our stay, Room was as you'd expect on a boat, quite compact but the bed was big enough for the two of us and I'm a large gentleman. Equally the bathroom was compact but plenty of room to do what you have to do. We literally sleep & wash in our room on city breaks so it was perfect. The entire boat was clean and all the staff were pleasant and welcoming. I always find if you learn a couple of words and phrases in the language of where you're visiting, the people are always more responsive & open. Breakfast was all good and plentiful. I'm not a continental breakfast lover so it was great to have scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon as a choice. The hotel itself is moored at the end of Margaret Island, so about 10-15 mins to parliament, 45 mins to the funicular to get to Buda Castle district. We generally walk everywhere and clocked up 34 miles over the four days, but there are plenty of travel options around the city including Uber. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Rated 4 due to no kettle or fridge||Fortuna boat hotel was ok, there is no fridge, I asked for a kettle and they only have 1 so I had to go out and buy my own, I would suggest that they don’t use the picture for advertising on google pictures showing the parliament building behind the boat because it’s no where near the parliament building, I think this could be there sister hotel on the opposite side of the river quite some distance away from Fortuna boat.||breakfast was ok very very small selection, hot food was small sausages, beans, mixed vegetables and scrambled eggs ( which were very runny ) then you had yoghurts again like water, bread and pastries.||however the staff were all lovely and polite I asked for extra pillows and it was no trouble for them, the rooms were quite good, air con worked and window opens in room 226, but I wasn’t happy that housekeeping just came in and sorted room out when I didn’t put my sign on the door to come and clean, they don’t have a safe for passports but I did find it quite safe.||the boat does need cleaning more especially on the window ledges full of cobwebs and dead flies inside, ||the taxi from the hotel to the airport was 18,000 HUF so approximately £36 for 1 way, if using the trams get the bulk buy of 10 tickets about £9 BUT when you board the tram you need to activate inside the tram in the machines, we didn’t know this and we got fined had to pay £52 there and then, these tickets also work on buses including the 200E from the airport along with the metro trains, so really good for value.|We would stay again but our first choice would be an hotel closer to the centre.

We stayed in the superior suite with a lovely view over the river through the large windows all around. A conveniently located place to stay for visitors to get easy access to all sites on both sides of the river Danube. Thoroughly recommend an upgraded room.
